Its in my elbows, knees, top of my feet, ankles, wrist. They feel so achy and sore I can pick up any thing..barely even walk. The only thing that has helped with it is taken ibuprofen!! But the soreness is still there! The doctors claim the depo shot shouldnt b causing this...
Avatar n tn Can you imagine!I have done my smear test just before depo shot, everything was fine and 1 week after the shot i started spotting and bleeding till now.So she scared me right off.Now i am waiting for my gynecologist appointment to come through.I am so worried at the moment.I am sure it is because of Depo Provera AND NOT CANCER.I told her that i have read a lot of reviews of woman who had the sam on going bleeding for months, but she kind of ignored that.
Avatar f tn Also the tea contains Phytoestrogens which I am somewhat concerned will interfere with the shot. The Depo shot is all progesterone. I doubt it would be enough to really interfere. Anyway in conclusion, there is no such thing as a "normal reaction" talk to your doctor and definately be concerned if your symptons persist for more than 90 days. Other than that. we'll just have to stick it out. Good luck, i know I need it too.
Avatar n tn Hi all I wish I had read all the reviews of the depo injection before taking it... I had one depo shot back in Oct 2012 the first two weeks I had no period after that I had a continuous period from Nov 12 to Jan 13 the Docs gave me medication mini pill to temp stop the bleeding but as soon as i came off the medication the bleeding continued... I also for the first time started to pass very large blod clots which looked like liver the size of my hand.
Avatar n tn whenever me and my boyfriend haves sex he always pulls out first, I'm not experiencing any symptoms but is there any chance I could be pregnant if we ain't using another form of protection? I'm seeing different reviews of people having the depo shot. Would the symptoms be the same anyway?
Avatar m tn Well if you don't want to take something all the time there's the Depo Provera shot. It's a birth control shot you get in your arm every 3 months and it's over 99% effective. There's a lot of mixed reviews about it, but it's like all medications, everyone's body reacts differently. I've been on it for 7 years and no problems. Or there's the patch. You don't have to take anything, and nothings injected in you.
Avatar f tn Hello just alittle about myself, I am 26 year old female with 3 kids. This past August I recently had a miscarriage and D&C. I was 10 weeks along but I had a partial molar pregnancy. Right after my D&C I received the depo provera shot because my doc said I couldn't get pregnant for a year. Well in mid September all my symptoms started and just hit me out of nowhere one day. One night I just started having a panic attack out of no where.
Avatar f tn I'm tired of my doctor telling me nothing is wrong just take birth control!!! The depo shot. I tell him bc pills shot any hormonal pills. I have a plate and six screws in my pelvic bone. Labor was horrible felt more like I didn't have any medication at all but they had me doped up so much and even three doses of reg epidoral and a c section epidoral. So when the doc said it's a piece of cake with essure and much safer than a tubal.
Avatar n tn i have a 10 yr old , after i had him i went on the depo shot for 3 months and had to stop it because it made me so sick but it also took usalmost 6 months to concieve our son, so no 10 years later no other children and not from lack of trying...
Avatar n tn There's a very similar thread on this site re Depo Provera injections and thyroid issues. I have similar concerns. I've had Depo and now on my second Implanon and am being treated for hypothyroidism. I am very much questioning whether there is a causal link.. My first instinct was that the Depo caused my thyroid issues.
Avatar n tn When the doctor saw 12 follicles (second cycle on clomid) I was a little worried, but since not all of them would mature enough for me to release all of them it didn't stop us from trying when my ovulation test surged. I also got the shot the first cycle to release it, but I still didn't get pregnant. Do you have any idea how big your follicle(s)were? Mine was at 23mm. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I was on the depo provera shot for a little over 13 years with no periods. I have been off of the shot since October 2006. In January, my periods started back, however, I have bright red blood frequently, and almost always HUGE blood clots. Sometimes I can feel myself pushing them out. My period has been on since January, with the exception of maybe two to three weeks. I am afraid that I am or will be anemic or worse soon if the bleeding doesn't stop.
280700 tn?1210287416 I had a trigger shot on CD 15 and I'm not supposed to test until day 30. But, I started testing to see when the trigger was out of my system (I'd get a negative test when the hcg from the trigger was gone). But, I havent gotten a negative yet! I dont know if it's still the shot or if it's early pregnancy, but I'll let you know as soon as I do!
Avatar f tn I've switched to the pill now but just started but after I had my son i wanted to try Depo-provera I got the shot until my son was six months old and I think it may have had something to do with my mood I started feeling really sad all the time and started getting chest pains and bad headaches I went to the er twice with chest pains and they did a ct scan and ekg and said everything was fine both times and they did a scan on my head to check for tumors and they said everything was fine with that
Avatar n tn This compares with 10 for the normal IUCD, 20 for the Pill and 10-15 for the injection (Depo Provera). This is comparable to the effectiveness of sterilisation. Mirena acts as a contraceptive in two ways: it makes the mucus at the neck of the womb (the cervix) much thicker, preventing sperm from getting through and it also makes the lining of the womb extremely thin, stopping implantation. In some women it prevents egg release (ovulation). A.
298579 tn?1192250448 The only thing I have seen that helps the pain is an herbal wrap that you heat up(you can get them @ walmart), and I lay that on my stomach. I have been on the depo shot for four years, I have asked if this is a contributing factor and have been told no. I have no kids. I hope someone comes up with an explanation, because I am too young to be giving up on my sex life!
Avatar n tn I too noticed this sticky crown issue about a week ago. I am 26 and do not have any more stress in my life than usual. I am on the Depo-Provera shot for birth control and read that Depo-Ralovera (a very similar shot) can cause greasy hair. ( I wonder if I could have received the wrong shot when I was in about 2 weeks ago, the names are so similar.
Avatar n tn Depo isn't the monster that people make it out to be. It's a good option for some people so don't be afraid to look into it). The doctor I went to prefers to do the insertion on a patient who is on her period. But since I have been on Depo Provera I haven't had a period in about 22 months! Because I had previously had a vaginal delivery (my daughter is 16 years old now) the doc decided to give insertion a try without my period (this was last month). OMFG... OUCH! And I mean: OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Avatar n tn The chances of me having a successful pregnacy in the future are shot though. I have recently had a period after my surgery and it is back to normal and my uterus hasnt really contracted back to a normal size and probably wont. Beware of taking seasonique if you have fibroids!
Avatar n tn thinks either adenomyosis or endo, but she told me if yaz doesnt help the next step might be the depo provera shot I dont know much about it but that may be a possibility for you, or possibly even lupron depo she suggested, even though I think you get many side effects from it. It's like a fake menopause! Well good luck lemme know how things works out!
363243 tn?1331037450 The Proactive repairing lotion also helps reduce them. My self esteem is shot, not only because of the hirsutism, but other things too, like the fact that I can not naturally reproduce due to losing my tubes. Although, I am a very feminine girl, I do feel unfeminine having to shave my face every other day and conceal the dark spots caused by growing and removing all this facial and neck hair. Now I even have some growing out of my chest. I 'm currently taking metformin 2000mg daily.
Avatar n tn I also took 10,000 units of HCG trigger shot but it has been 8 days since I had shot so I don't know if that could be it. Please HELP!!!
Avatar n tn dose anyone no any thing about Depo-Provera aka the shot and what some woman can get with periods and if a dark brown with a little hint of orange dicharge is normal?

Avatar n tn 10 so I will ask my MD about the med to make me have a cycle (Provera has always been the usual prescribed med) I have battled PCOS for 16 years so my cycles have always been scattered to non exixtant most of the least I feel better with my weight loss physicallly and mentally I do think the Metformion has helped with my weightloss . I do not seem to have any side affects now that my body has adjusted to the medication as I have been on it for over 2 months.
Avatar n tn , but it was worth a shot. Incidently, my eyes have improved hugely over the last 24 hours after the use of some eye drops... I'm thinking it might have been blepharitis as the eye drops I used were supposed to heal it. Thanks again. Alex.
