Depo provera official website

Common Questions and Answers about Depo provera official website

Avatar f tn DO NOT GO ON DEPO-PROVERA!!! i was on depo for 2 and a half years have been off of it for 2 years and have yet to conceive. It also takes all the goodness from your bones and can affect you in later life the longer you use it. I believe this form of contraception is poison to a womans body. I agree with the other women there are various types of birth control look into everything and ask your doctor everything you need to know about the type you choose.
325477 tn?1250554909 Hi ladies, I would like to continue the discussion about Geritol and how many women got pregnant after taking these vitamins...Although the official website sais that it is only a rumor and that Geritol doesn't increase fertility but I have read so much about women who were TTC for years and then got pregnant in a month or two after taking Geritol... Im taking prenatal vitamins now but nothing has changed..Im wondering if I should switch to Geritol? Does anyone have any ideas about this?
Avatar n tn This compares with 10 for the normal IUCD, 20 for the Pill and 10-15 for the injection (Depo Provera). This is comparable to the effectiveness of sterilisation. Mirena acts as a contraceptive in two ways: it makes the mucus at the neck of the womb (the cervix) much thicker, preventing sperm from getting through and it also makes the lining of the womb extremely thin, stopping implantation. In some women it prevents egg release (ovulation). A.
280700 tn?1210287416 I also took clomid 50mg last month and never ovulated, so the cycle was a bust and the doctor prescribed Provera again casue it could be some time before i get my period. He upped my dosage to 100mg and i'm on day 3 today of clomind. I'm basically taking clomid cd 2-6 as the specialist wanted and then he will start monitoring me on CD 9. I'm also getting IUI done so hopefully tis would help but if I don't ovulate then this cycle would be a bust also. I'm crossing my fingers as well.
298579 tn?1192250448 The only thing I have seen that helps the pain is an herbal wrap that you heat up(you can get them @ walmart), and I lay that on my stomach. I have been on the depo shot for four years, I have asked if this is a contributing factor and have been told no. I have no kids. I hope someone comes up with an explanation, because I am too young to be giving up on my sex life!
Avatar n tn BUT BEFORE i had the IUD put in, i was on the Depo Provera... which is the shot form of birth control that lasts three months... i have had constant yeast and bacterial infections since i have been on the shot. Now i am on the IUD, and they both use the same hormones. this is just great (sarcastically speaking) to hear all of this about the IUD as well. i was really hoping after MANY (too many to count) years of dealing with the constant infections that my problems are not going to go away.
Avatar n tn I too have had this problem for about the last year. I first noticed it after I switched from the shot (depo provera sp?), to Yaz. During that time also I was on antibiotics for strep throat and did developed a yeast infection. I was certain that it was because of Yaz. I went to the doctor and she didn't believe me and wouldn't switch me to another pill. I did see someone else and now I am on ortho tri-cylin. They seem to not be as bad but still occur 2-3 times per month.
Avatar n tn There you can obtain more information about them and possibly find a center in your area. I have high blood pressure, triglycerides and cholesterol. The diet begins with a blood test and an EKG and then you start the diet after you see their doctor who just does a simple physical to make sure you are healthy enough to diet. All I can say is... This time (it's my 4th time in 20 years)... this time, my blood pressure has dropped from 150/92 down to 116/75.
Avatar n tn Usually I don't start until I get a prescription of Provera for the doc. Last time I went 2 and 1/2 months before I started again by provera. so being late is a usual thing for me...I'm so confused, but I don't want to get my hopes up like I do every other month...I guess I should just get an appt. with the doc to be sure...I'll keep you updated!
1294995 tn?1330666336 I'm 4 days past provera and nothing yet. I'm getting alittle worried because I've been on provera like 6 times and almost always like clock work I get it two days after stopping it. I'll wait until it's been 7 days past then I'll call my dr. Didn't realize I could wish so much for AF :-) Well I have enjoyed this day off. Back to work tomorrow. Hope you all had a great weekend :-) SSBD!!!!
Avatar n tn 10 so I will ask my MD about the med to make me have a cycle (Provera has always been the usual prescribed med) I have battled PCOS for 16 years so my cycles have always been scattered to non exixtant most of the least I feel better with my weight loss physicallly and mentally I do think the Metformion has helped with my weightloss . I do not seem to have any side affects now that my body has adjusted to the medication as I have been on it for over 2 months.
1055869 tn?1294203119 Welcome! I was new about a week and a half ago. This website has some wonderful knowledgeable people that make it easier to share all this with. As for me, I had my first IUI on November 14. I also had the HCG shot two days prior and my RE told me that she felt my lining was too thin so she put me on Progesterone vaginal suppositories to help that. I started taking them on November 15th and will continue atleast until I get a BFP or the dreaded AF.
Avatar n tn She said she took SEVERAL HPT and 2 blood ALL NEGATIVE. Finally when her Doc gave her a RX for provera to start her period she was tested one more time 12/9 almost a month later she FINALLY GOT a positive blood test. Her Docs theory is she just ovulated VERY late in her cycle that month!!! How crazy is that!!? It took almost a WHOLE month for her to show positive for pregnant. I mean you are alittle further than a month though. Have you got an ultrasound?
162948 tn?1205256292 I called my doc and they said that it takes 3 months before the hormones are out of your system. The mirena website makes it sound as though you can get pregnant anytime after removal. Any advice/stories would be appreciated. Thanks.
Avatar n tn The face wash is ranked 7 out of 10 on the hazard scale on the website and is considered high hazard... thanks dermatologist!! (complete sarcasm) She also gave me a steroid based cream to use the first couple times I went, but she said that can't be used long term, so I when it kept happening, she said to come in for a skin allergy test...
Avatar n tn im 24 my last official period was may 4th 2005 it was not like my normal period i usually get it was lite and only lasted a few days now it's july 12th still no period i have never before had this happen i've had headaches and back pain and feeling dizzy and nauseas i took a home test last night and it came back negative so i'm feeling sad and not sure what to do or what could be wrong with me so any updated info on any of you would be great thanks
Avatar n tn They wanted to start me on provera but I wanted to do a little research first. I was having many pregancy symtoms along with the late period such as feeling tired all the time, nasea, and my husband and family even said that I had the pregnancy glow. Then I got the call today, very frustrating. Then I started felling like I might start. This evening, I had very light spotting - would have missed it if I was not looking, but nothing ever since.
Avatar n tn I cannot tell you how relieved I am tonight to have found this website! I'm 22 years old, and I have been having the exact same problem for a few years now! I had used the clobetasol initially. The intense itching around my anus and the papercut-type tears on my labia minora came back later and I asked my gynecologist for another prescription of the clobetasol...he wouldn't give it to me because he said that prolonged use causes thickening of the skin.
