Common Questions and Answers about Ddavp and di

ddavp

Avatar f tn Good Morning, I have asked if there is anything besides the DDAVP, and have been told there is not. How did you end up being DI? You and horselip are the only two people I have ever talked to that had this.
Avatar f tn When I first started using DDAVP ~9 years ago i had to weigh myself every day and measure my input and urine output to get the "hang" of it. The rule was if I gained more than two pounds in day I was to cut back on my fluid intake and dose. Good luck!
Avatar f tn The matter of no thyroid is not a factor with DI. DI is pituitary or hypothalmic or as you said, kidney. Your doc ran ADH and it is low - so it looks like your source is pituitary. We do have someone here who has it - Horselip - and there are medications to take to help keep in under control. Your doc may still run those tests - and should run other pituitary tests to see if you have other pituitary issues.
16141151 tn?1445607578 I am still on 15mg cortef and 1-2 sprays of DDAVP per day. My body has changed- I am gaining weight and it is mostly on the back and at my waist above my ribs. My skin is different (dryer, less elastic), and overall I don't feel quite right. I am still feeling a bit frustrated and surprised by the fact that I have all these deficiencies, despite the fact that my surgeon was very confident prior to the surgery that I would be cured.
Avatar m tn Hi, Do not feel embarrassed, such problems are quite common and doctors are there to help you. So, do consult a urologist and get appropriate treatment. Here is a link that gives a lot of details about this problem: http://www.nafc.
Avatar n tn My daughter is 13 years old and has always & still struggles with bed wetting. She was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes 1.5 years ago. Her endocrinologist does not believe the wetting has to do with her diabetes. If her blood sugars are high before she goes to bed we can almost be 100% sure she will have a wet bed, but most times her sugars are in range and she might still wet. She has also gone through many test on her bladder and all is normal.

1069888 tn?1421936741 I have referred a couple of people over there now, and they all have high regards for Di and the CC. If you are on Facebook, there is a fan page devoted to "Dr. Di Fan Club" and you can meet his patients. I do not have SM. Only CM. I have a 8mm herniation which caused a lot of issues. I went undiagnosed for over a decade. I woke up from surgery just fine and well medicated.
Avatar f tn s a bit of an art to it and it is more than just the numbers. It is your pit gland that make TSH and yours is probably low now. I take my calcium at night to avoid that issue. In a so called normal person the TSH adjusts and lowers when your T3 and T4 levels are good. It gets higher when the levels are low. In many pituitary patient it is just low, low, low. A usual replacement dose of levothyroxine is 100-200 mcg!!!!
1268921 tn?1288919056 I did find out that Dr. Xiao Di (Cleveland Clinic) is covered under my insurance--and it sounds like the 2 hour drive would be worth it to get a referral for him in terms of the low-lying cerebellar tonsils....if they are low-lying, does that mean it is Chiari? Or does it have to be determined that there is compression to use the "Chiari" name?
Avatar f tn m 17yrs old I had a tumor that was attached to the pituitary gland when I was 12 it was removed partially the rest was removed with chemo and radiation due to being attached to my eyes. when I was 15 it came back I had chemo and radiation and it was gone now I had an MRI done and apperantly my doc sees what can be scar tissue or the tumor again. Can some one explain what scar tissue is and if it's in any way bad for me or it's long term side effects please and thank you!!!
Avatar m tn Desmopressin is given orally as a tablet and is only for patients over 5 years old. According to the Food and Drug Administration, nasal spray formulations of Desmopressin (Noctiva, others) are no longer recommended for treatment of bed-wetting due to the risk of serious side effects. Again, however, I can't stress enough that your friend should be checked by the GP, as an adult , this can signal other issues that need fairly prompt attention.
Avatar f tn I have been having light bleeding since November 8, along with really bad pelvic pain, blood clots, bloating, fatigue, weakness, and feeling like I am getting sick. I have used a nasal spray (DDAVP) for three weeks, but the bleeding did not stop. I tried doubling up on the nasal spray since I was prescribed the wrong strength, but it did not help. I had my second Depo Provera shot on December 7. I thought it would help make the bleeding stop, but I am still bleeding.
Avatar f tn Went to the Dr today for my anatomy scan and my 18 week old di-di twins are a boy and a girl!!!!!!!words can not explain my excitement and joy!! I can't wait to welcome them in the world.
1268921 tn?1288919056 I am very confident with Dr Di and feel that he and his PA really listen to what I am saying and know their stuff--esp with Chiari.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the update on Dr Di...and do post his info on the drs thread when u get it. How have u been doing??
Avatar m tn Well I just can't get ahard on no more. It was great for 61 years even though I had a stroke I could still perform. But now it won't even get hard and the last two pills I've been taking are ther one for your prostrate and another for high blook pressure.
1274661 tn?1301868321 Could this be a symptom of Chiari? I have my first appointment with Dr. Di tomorrow and I am going to ask him about it. I hope the appointment goes well and I don't forget to ask him anything. Wish me luck!
Avatar f tn Hi ladies, congrats on your twins! I'm 21 weeks, just so you know, your doc cannot tell you this early if your twins are identical or fraternal, being in 2 diff sacs doesn't mean they're fraternal. The ultrasound doc will tell you at your 20 week scan what type of twins your having, mo/mo, di/di or mo/di but still, if your having same sex babies they'll only know for sure after they're borne through dni. At least thats what i was told. Im having di/di boys.
