17551709 tn?1457744886 I have had dandruff for years. I tried washing my hair with different shampoos, tried washing my hair multiple times per day and even tried several different anti-dandruff shampoos without success. Now I'm going to start using home remedies like apple cider vinegar.
Avatar f tn t go to a regular doctor instead of using herbal and homeopathic remedies? Going on a birth control pill will regulate your periods too.
Avatar f tn Might sound weird but wash your body with head and shoulder dandruff control, I used to use it on my face when it'd get really dry around my nose and stuff, works really good.
Avatar n tn The dandruff is better when I cut hair short. Sometimes the itching is so irritating that I want to cut hair off!
Avatar m tn I should mention that my mother suffers from a Candida Albicans overgrowth and I exhibit some of the signs of a similar infection at times. I crave carbs, I have dandruff that is hard to control, and in recent years any little scrape against my skin can turn into a puffy mark for an hour or so. Over the last week and a half I have also been eating a low/zero carb diet and taking herbal remedies to fight any possible candida overgrowth but the penis "rash" or whatever it is persists.
20900786 tn?1598014440 I hope you can help. I have what I can only describe as huge, thick wad of dead, dry skin on my scalp above m my forehead. It feels awful and it's so irritating. Nothing will make it go away, not even a special shampoo a dermatologist prescribed. It's been awhile since I was seen. What is it, and are there any home remedies I can use? Dandruff shampoo doesn't work.
Avatar f tn It sounds like you have dandruff- which the selsun blue shampoo should help, but sometimes it can be resistant to anti-dandruff shampoos for various reasons. You could try some other brands (such as head and shoulders) or you could try some home remedies- lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. If that doesn't work, you may want to head back to your doctor to see if the flakes are indications of another medical condition- it could be something like eczema.
Avatar n tn coal-tar preparations (Neutrogena T/Gel, Tegrin) ; Pyrithione zinc (Suave Dandruff Control, Pert Plus Dandruff Control, Head & Shoulders) ; Salicylic acid and sulfur (T-Sal, lonil T, Sebulex) ; Selenium sulfide (Selsun, Exsel); and Ketoconazole (Nizoral A-D). I color my hair but have for years. I have not changed my shampoo or hair products at all. Can someone tell me about a remedy that will help...I will try just about anything!
Avatar n tn instead the shampoos made my hair loss worse and gave me dandruff. I started experiencing severe burning sensation on my scalp. It felt like someone is pouring acid on it. It even felt painful to move my hair in any direction. It was so excruciating I ended up in the urgent care twice. They ran a bunch of thyroid and hormonal tests which came back fine.
Avatar n tn ve tried over the counter t/gel and other anti dandruff shampoos, but the itching drives me crazy. Any suggestions or home remedies I can benefit from. Thanks in advance.

Avatar f tn She has struggles with irregular periods and bad acne over this period and then unwanted hair, dandruff, chronic fatigue, hair thinning, blackouts became major issues. Her dermatologist tried everything and suggested that she get her hormone levels tested. They found elevated testosterone and an ultrasound showed the presense of cysts. 763572 tn?1274174679 t know what is the cause of this, considering you have tried more or less anything, so far to treat it. However, I know herbal remedies do often work (not always, but it might be worth trying if you are interested.) I'd try bathing the affected areas with a tea made of Burdock Root / Marigold Flowers / Yellow Dock. A teaspoon of each/1 cup boiling water/steep15 mins/strain/cool. Use on a pad of cotton wool 3-4 times a day.
Avatar m tn I've always had issues with Dry Scalp and Dandruff, particularly during the winter. Over the past couple years, I've also developed some sort of scalp sores that when picked at tend to bleed. They seem to continually come back. I've tried a number of shampoos - Head and Shoulders, Nizoral, Aveda Pureformance, T/Gel, American Crew, etc. with varying results.
4244557 tn?1371701336 Pre pregnancy I had some issues with dandruff which I learned to control with products that actually worked for me personally but now during pregnancy my dandruff has gotten out of hand and I can't seem to get my scalp moisturized good enough to fix the problem which is making me insecure. I really want to go get my hair cut but I'm afraid of what the stylist will think or say or react.
945934 tn?1289046024 It seems to weep and generate a crustiness I noticed. I have tried dandruff shampoo, neosporin, lotion, tea tree oil, and plain petroleum jelly. All have worked to a point, but the itchiness and scaly skin still continue. It comes off in flakes. I do wear glasses and use a headband when I go to the gym which I thought caused it. Keep it clean and dry after showers but it hasn't helped. Anyone have something that works?
Avatar n tn then i started to develop light dandruff (white, very little grains) and seem not to manage to get it under control with normal dandruff shampoos etc. while googling dandruff i read that dandruff (but i assume heavy) can be a sign of hiv infection. then i started reading about scary high aids rates in portugal. especially as most new infections here come from hetero sexual encounters.
