Might sound weird but wash your body with head and shoulder dandruff control, I used to use it on my face when it'd get really dry around my nose and stuff, works really good.
The dandruff is better when I cut hair short. Sometimes the itching is so irritating that I want to cut hair off!
I should mention that my mother suffers from a Candida Albicans overgrowth and I exhibit some of the signs of a similar infection at times. I crave carbs, I have dandruff that is hard to control, and in recent years any little scrape against my skin can turn into a puffy mark for an hour or so. Over the last week and a half I have also been eating a low/zero carb diet and taking herbal remedies to fight any possible candida overgrowth but the penis "rash" or whatever it is persists.
It sounds like you have dandruff- which the selsun blue shampoo should help, but sometimes it can be resistant to anti-dandruff shampoos for various reasons. You could try some other brands (such as head and shoulders) or you could try some home remedies- lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. If that doesn't work, you may want to head back to your doctor to see if the flakes are indications of another medical condition- it could be something like eczema.

instead the shampoos made my hair loss worse and gave me dandruff. I started experiencing severe burning sensation on my scalp. It felt like someone is pouring acid on it. I've never had any issues with my hair, but all of I've noticed when washing it and brushing it alot more is coming out than normally would. And it is alot thinner in just a couple weeks. My scalp is itchy like no other and I've used ever dandruff shampoo, home remedies, even cortisone cream on my scalp...nothing seems to keep the itch away.
She has struggles with irregular periods and bad acne over this period and then unwanted hair, dandruff, chronic fatigue, hair thinning, blackouts became major issues. Her dermatologist tried everything and suggested that she get her hormone levels tested. They found elevated testosterone and an ultrasound showed the presense of cysts. I've always had issues with Dry Scalp and Dandruff, particularly during the winter. Over the past couple years, I've also developed some sort of scalp sores that when picked at tend to bleed. They seem to continually come back.
I've tried a number of shampoos - Head and Shoulders, Nizoral, Aveda Pureformance, T/Gel, American Crew, etc. with varying results.
then i started to develop light dandruff (white, very little grains) and seem not to manage to get it under control with normal dandruff shampoos etc. while googling dandruff i read that dandruff (but i assume heavy) can be a sign of hiv infection. then i started reading about scary high aids rates in portugal. especially as most new infections here come from hetero sexual encounters.
