663470 tn?1243207890 I tried salicylic acid treatments and nothing has helped. I am loosing my hair and I am afraid that the Psoriasis is going to begin to spread to my neck and other places on my body. 766574 tn?1238465473 Just like at the Dead Sea spa in Israel I called and asked what there treatment was and then just did it myself at home. Sun, mud, sea salt bath and message. Also, I would think about what foods your eating. Your okay. I healed it- it's your nervous system. Don't be angry, or upset --relaxation.
Avatar n tn I was given an immunosurpressant called cyclosporine which helped keep the psoriasis like rashes away but I had persistent red bumps which didnt itch, but would spike in pain under stress/ excessive activities like carrying a lot of heavy things. Cyclosporine was never seen as a permanent treatment and my doctors wanted to wean off. About 6 months since beginning cyclosporine my condition changed to be much more needle pain than rash, and i stopped getting psoriasis like rashes altogether.

Avatar n tn Although none of these treatments will cure psoriasis, they may relieve the symptoms and itchiness and help prevent further outbreaks from occurring. All natural treatments should be discussed with your doctor, as it may affect any psoriasis treatment he or she prescribes. Oatmeal, Epsom salts and Dead Sea salts can help remove the scales and also help in soothing itchiness. Aloe Vera is often used to soothe and moisturize skin.
Avatar f tn About 6 months ago, I was finally diagnosed and started taking cyclosporine 100 mg 2x day. After a week, I could eat like a normal person—just about anything I wanted. It was great, it even allowed me to travel to Europe. The cyclosporine I was taking was a powder in a capsule, apparently this has been taken off the market and instead I took the same medication, but it was in the form of a capsule with alcohol. Unfortunately, after a short time, I was right back to before treatment.
Avatar f tn Chronic urticaria, especially the autoimmune type, is often resistant to antihistamine treatment. They usually require immunosuppression and medications such as prednisone and cyclosporine may be given. There has been several studies already which have shown effectiveness in using cyclosporine in the treatment of chronic idiopathic urticaria, who fail to respond to conventional therapy (ref: http://www.e-ijd.org/article.asp?

Avatar m tn Is there a correlation between taking less ursodiol and my through cyclosporine levels slightly decreasing? Could my lower cyclosporine levels have contributed to the lessening of my symptoms? Could taking less ursodiol have contributed to my diminishing symptoms. What would be the lest acceptable through cyclosporine level for a patient on mono -therapy four and one half years post transplant with no episodes of rejection? Thank you so very much Dr.
1732853 tn?1366758928 It"s sometimes used to treat RA and other autoimmune disorders. It's also used to after an organ transplant to prevent rejection.
Avatar m tn (interestingly though, a few days before at the vet, the schirmer test was 12 in both eyes). Now 6 weeks later, the right eye has a 6 and the left eye still has 0. The specialist reviewed all of the options with us - cyclosporine, pilocarpine or tacrolimus with sirolimus. She said that very rarely has she seen any dog respond to cyclosporine after not responding to tacrolimus.
Avatar m tn i think this is a reasonable way of lowering the cyclosporine dose and as long as labs are being followed regularly i think that this is OK. I am not aware of rapa affecting bile flow.
Avatar n tn Do you think it is neck pain or could it be an abdominal problem from being on pred, cyclosporine for 5 years (she has been on cyclosporine consistently for 5 years and pred on/off whenever she has a recurrence), coud it be cancer in her abdomen? I am thinking about going for a myelogram but what tests would you run else since her chemistry was pretty clean. Could it be pancreatitis even though her chemistry is clean? What are other causes for a dog crying?
