676912 tn?1332812551 Hey ladies, other than baby vicks (put it on a sock in her bassinet instead of on her) and a humidifier, what's good for coughing? Aubryana's only 8 weeks old, I took her to the dr Mon or Tues and she said that she just has a virus...she seems to me like it's an upper respiratory infection, she's sneezing a lot, coughing, and stuffy. Not much comes out when I use the saline drops and suction bulb. :( She's too little to be sick!
Avatar f tn When an adult gets it the cough sounds like a whoop sound and for children especially infants its deadly practically for infants they get a fever can't breathe coughing something like ammonia but way worse
1194973 tn?1385503904 s had it for about 2 days now and the coughing is slowly getting more frequent. My husband had it for about 5 days, so we expect around that time frame for her or less. It's a really basic common sense question, but this is the first time she's been actually sick and I just want to make her as comfortable as possible.

420800 tn?1203089057 My son, 6, as an infant began vomited regularly (several x's per day) and had some speech delays as he began to grow. He was worked up and we were told he just has a sensitivity in his gag reflex. He received Speech Therapy for 2 years and speaks well now with only minor difficulties. He continues to vomit easily, but can usually control it. When he was 4 he began suffering recurrent headaches over his forehead which lead to vomiting as well.
Avatar n tn We just got a rx but we are not sure this is safe for an infant under two years old. The side effects for long term use mention glaucoma and vision problems? Should I be concerned about this?
447553 tn?1205288774 It was bad the first 3 weeks he would do it almost everyday, now its only once or twice every few days. I asked his doctor and he said it was normal, but I know its not, for him to throw up everything he has eaten and then some.

94902 tn?1330479667 I used saline - Hydrasense for infants. He screamed the whole time and choked on it once. He only coughed when he choked on mucus. His nose is still congested.
Avatar n tn Do we get a vaccin for a whooping cough? I am 27 yrs old just wondering will i be immune after vaccination. This discussion is related to Whooping cough recurring?.
Avatar n tn You can do children or infant Tylenol. Just a lil tho. And a temp that's to high for a infant is 101. Try giving him a cool warm bath to cool him off if the temp is to high.
402056 tn?1201542188 My mother called me this morning telling me that her brother was in a Tulsa Hospital with Staff infection of the lungs. That he has been coughing up lots of blood. I went online to try to figure out what she needs to know on this subject 1) is it deadly? 2) is it treatable? 3) Should my mother go and see him, with this infectious disease? 4)My aunt is looking sick as well, could she have it as well? 5) I'm also hearing that it could be resistant to drugs? is this right?
Avatar m tn At 4 months old I would call the dr and see what they advise. Increasing your fluid intake and eating foods that will cause an increase in bowel movements may help. Since you are breastfeeding remember that your baby eats what you eat. If you eat a lot of hard foods that cause constipation for you then it will do the same for the baby. I wouldn't take anything or give the baby anything without first consulting your pediatrician.
Avatar f tn i never did get tested for the hiv infection but now i had a child a month after and he has really bad yeast infection covering his whole face and neck i an freaking out is that a sign
Avatar n tn Looking for some ideas about my 7 mo old. She started to have spots on her face yesterday that looked like pimples. Some just red and others looked puss filled. She had four on her forehead, and one by her mouth. Then later I noticed two on her knee cap and one on her thumb. Now there are two on her head under her hair. What could it be?
Avatar n tn Being that an infant is involved, and more so an infant born premature, SIDS would be a concern that your nephew’s Pediatricians have considered, therefore I will not mention the recommendations that the article cited, other than to briefly touch on them. The article recommended a consultation with a pediatric gastroenterologist. In addition, the thickness of the infant’s formula (or, when appropriate, cereal) and positioning the infant, were also discussed.
Avatar f tn what kind of medicines do i need to have at home for an infant? I know baby tylenol but for the most part am clueless. i know there are drops for gas and i something to drink after ingesting something poisonous. Can you ladies clue me in on what I should have at home?
Avatar n tn I have also noticed that his hands and feet tend to get very purple. His feet up to his ankles and for the past 4 months his hands formerly just to his wrist now up to his elbow it looks mottled and bright red on top of his forearms like a sunburn. Everytime I ask about this I'm told don't worry it's nothing. I have 3 other children that have all been very healthy so I know that some of these things are not the norm and am concerned.
Avatar n tn My wife (57 year old) has had a chronic cough accompanied by occassional sneezing and gagging for over 3 years. She has been to every specialist we can think of - lung, gastro, GP, heart, throat, allergist, etc. She just had tests done for Gerd which included the Bravo monitor and the test was negative. She has had numeorus x-rays, MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds and any other tests that can look inside her lungs, ears, nose, esaphogus, stomach & throat.
