So last night i'm visited my friend at hospital. She's at later stage (stadium 4) of breast cancer. I sit about 1 meter from her. She continuosly coughing. When i arrived at home, i become so worry as i read that she maybe have pneumonia. Please note that i have 4 months baby at home. So, my question is, should i worry about the exposure? Thank you for the response.
my 5 year old daughter lies down at night, she cannot stop coughing.. she naps in the same bed that day, no cough, but as soon as night comes, and bed time, she coughs all night long.. we have had no sleep in three months.. the drs say it is nothing -- allergies, or a sinus infection, and put us on zurteck and a z-pac.. but it has done nothing..
she has a severe history of upper respitory infections .. from 2 on, 2-3 almost died.. from it..we are at a loss! .. HELP!!!!!!
m a 23 year old male, who takes Singuliar, 10mg, daily for asthma symptoms. However for the past few nights, I have been wheezing and coughing in bed at night to the point it disrupts my sleep, leaving me dragging the next day. During the day I do not wheeze and cough, just laying down at night in bed. Should I go see my doctor, or is this something due to change in weather (it has become noticably cooler in this area the past couple days), or something the medication will correct in time?

I've gotten sick /flu/fever 3 weeks ago..Usually my coughing and body aches last about a week..but my coughing has not gone away. I am a smoker for 9 years..but never experienced coughing like this. I cough severley only at night while I'm sleeping..but then the coughing gets better during the day. This coughing has been lasting 3 weeks..and the severe coughing at night which wakes me up has been about 4 days. Is this a sign of HIV or STD?

Is the nocturnal cough (possibly due to laryngitis) the cause of the fever? Mucus is collecting behind my vocal cords. It causes coughing at night. In the evening I use asthma medication, but I do not have asthma. Could cortisone inhalation (Alvesco) in the evening cause nocturnal fever several hours later? In the morning and daytime my temperature is normal (I had some fever over a week ago).

Your baby is little and night time feeding is very common at 3 months. My other son that had no feeding/weight issues would feed during the night at least once until about 10 months as well.
I am just going to say that you may be tired -------- really tired========== but this period of time will pass and your life will go back to normal.
My son that ate every 1.5 to 2.5 hours did not start sleeping through the night until 16 months.
/ i didnt kno y i took him to the ER and to his 1week check up n they didnt seem to care that he was Coughing a bunch n sneezing n very congested! Finally a few days ago i took him in again to the ER n they found out he has a virus newborns have been getting its Called Rsv n if they would have tested it before they would have found it i was So pissed!!! So now today we got out of the childerns hospital they sent him home with oxygen but to me he still seems bad but they that he was Fine!!
My eight year old son has had episodes of vomiting at night for several years. He will vomit one night a week for three or four weeks straight and then not again for several months. Then he'll vomit three nights in a row...only one time per night.... and then not again for another few months. We thought it may be a food allergy, we noticed that he seemed to do better when not drinking juice, but then he won't have had juice for several months and he'll have another episode.
Have you been tested for TB? Usually the fever goes up at night and you get fatigue and cough. But, also a chest infection would give you this high of a fever. So getting a sputum sample for culture to see if have an infection would be a good idea. Did you or do you have a sore throat too or just the lung symptoms? Did you ever see white spots or pus in the back of your throat? It doesn't sound like you had strep throat when they tested you for it.
She still is coughing so much at night we are getting very little sleep. She was on a higher dosage but it left her so lethargic she had no quality of life and was still coughing. She is back on the lower dosage and seems more her old self but the coughing never changes. Has anyone else had any success in calming the coughing at Night? My husband and I both have very demanding jobs and the lack of sleep is having an effect. We love her dearly and want her last days to be happy ones.
I still have coughing at nights and in mornings. I have been thinking whether I have been suffering from pneumonia (with only slight fever). (I do have chronic sinusitis.) I have dyspnea, it has not vanished, today it has been bad. I have to drink lots of water, because I tend to become dehydrated. - Drinking water has sometimes abolished pain and some other symptoms.
I have a similiar cough except mine happens at anytime day or night and it wakes me up at night. Recently a friend of mine sugested I try something called slippery Elm . Its a powder that dosen't taste great. I didn't take her advice so she bought me some and insisted I try it . Well I was amaysed . It worked from the first day. I was a sceptic od herbal meds but this worked . Worth a try . The powder form is very cheap .
