t have time to go see the gastro doc. But I had to go see a ENT because of an ear infection and he said my throat looked really irriated and I had better get my acid reflux checked out. Plus now I take Nexium and Zantac 150 otc. That's only temporary until I go to the gastro doc. But this worries me... regular prescriptions aren't helping. I also have to take Questran for irritable bowl. Do you think that is what is making me have severe heartburn?
1 month later he was not saticfied with the drop in cholestoral so he put me on a fairley new drug called Trilipix. I take 10mg of lisinopril for high blood pressure, 10 mg of crestor, and 145mg of trilipix. After being put on the trilipix I started felling tired and having stomache problems (constipated and cramping). I went back to have my a1c check last week and it was 8.0.
I got my test results back and my total cholesterol went down from 165 on 40mg of simvastatin/tri-cor to 150 on 20mg of simvastatin only. However my triglycerides went from 93 to 210. Is that 210 level significant for a male? Any other natural suggestions on lowering this? Should I take more fish oil?

s Syndrome. I had never heard of it but after he suggested it I have done some reasearch and I have alot of the symptoms. I am 30 year old female and am on meds for OCD, Irritable Bowel, Acne, High Blood Pressure, High Triglycerides, Migraines, Allergies, Vitamin D, and Heart Burn. These are all prescription meds. I weigh around 240 pounds and am a size 18W and am having trouble losing weight. Is this just my weight or something more?
I can tell you unequivocally that having high triglycerides is not a specific sign of HIV infection. The vast majority of people who have high triglycerides have it for the reasons Lizzie mentioned or other reasons including genetics. It's a waste of time for you to be trying to read the 'tea leaves' of your triglyceride levels as it is an entirely non-specific finding.

What is the meaning of these numbers in this context? I am aware that high Triglycerides/ Low HDL can mean insulin resistance and could also mean that ApoB is elevated even with low ldl. Does this warrant an ApoB or A1c measurement?
My doctor isn't concerned. I have a bit of a family history of heart disease so I would like to make sure I am covering my bases, especially since I am young and have time on my side.

I am a 49 year old male who recently had a CT scan with contrast and was diagnosed with an enlarged (4.7 cm) aorta right where it comes from the heart. The rest of the aota is normal size. The doctor has scheduled a stress test for me. Is this recommended? I have read that exercise is recommended but heavy lifting is prohibited because of the stress it places on the aorta. My work includes heavy lifting periodically throughout the day of 60-80 lbs. Is this considered heavy lifting?

Hi, I consistently have triglycerides under 100 mg/dL, which is considered healthy. I have read recently that alcohol consumption raises triglycerides, but I regularly drink two 1.5 oz vodka drinks a night. Why are my triglycerides not high? My daily diet does include fish and nuts - are these latter two foods overriding whatever effects the vodka normally would have on triglyceride levels?

The endo said my goiter is full of small nodules that are of no worry. But the fact that my peroid has shortened from a 7 day lentht to a 3 days length in the past 3 months is of a concern along with my eye twitches and heart palps. But I do not have a buffalo hump that I have ever noticed. I did notice a lump in my stomach near my belly button making one side of my stomach look larger than the other.
I agree. The benefits outweigh the few, (if any at all) side effects from taking the benzo's every day for over six years. I'm 26 now without insurance, and they are the cheapest of the meds I am on. Trilipix is 184USD, Crestor is 189USD, and even generic gabapentin is 154USD. Lexapro is about 140UDS. Generic Klonopin is about 10USD. Remeron is about the same. And Inderal is 4USD. This is all per month, and I need every one of them.
Nexium 40mg. twice a day, Amlodipine Bensylate 5mg. once a day, Trilipix 135mg. once a day and Ibuprofen 600mg. when needed. Pravastatin Sodium 40mg. once a day and Alprazolam 1mg. twice a day. I have been to my doctor and have told him about it and he just says, its anxiety. Does anyone know what might be causing this ?? I am tired of hearing that it is anxiety ! Please help !!!!!!!!!!!
