Avatar n tn 1 month later he was not saticfied with the drop in cholestoral so he put me on a fairley new drug called Trilipix. I take 10mg of lisinopril for high blood pressure, 10 mg of crestor, and 145mg of trilipix. After being put on the trilipix I started felling tired and having stomache problems (constipated and cramping). I went back to have my a1c check last week and it was 8.0.
Avatar f tn Thank you for answering my question. Yes I take trilipix and lipitor.

In a nutshell, it just proves that you can not treat body parts in isolation ! I am a diabetic on insulin. Recently , I was prescribed a fenofibrate (Trilipix 135 mg) along with Crestor. My cardio wanted this for helping in getting my triglycerides down. I have not had a lipid profile done since starting on this med two months ago.
Avatar m tn I have been on Lisinopril (bp) for 5 years and Trilipix and Simvastatin (cholesterol) for the last 3-4 years.
Avatar n tn Here are the meds I am own - Questran - 1 packet for irritable bowl, Prozac for OCD, Allergy Injections, Methyldopa for blood pressure, and Trilipix for Triglycerides (nearly 1000), and Vitamin D. I am only 30!! I am overwieght but work hard to get rid of it with little or no results. They even checked me for Cushings. My TSH is low at 0.3 and I have a Goiter but no known thyroid problem. I have acne. Anyone know what could be causing my heartburn to be so severe?
Avatar m tn I agree. The benefits outweigh the few, (if any at all) side effects from taking the benzo's every day for over six years. I'm 26 now without insurance, and they are the cheapest of the meds I am on. Trilipix is 184USD, Crestor is 189USD, and even generic gabapentin is 154USD. Lexapro is about 140UDS. Generic Klonopin is about 10USD. Remeron is about the same. And Inderal is 4USD. This is all per month, and I need every one of them.
Avatar m tn twice a day, Amlodipine Bensylate 5mg. once a day, Trilipix 135mg. once a day and Ibuprofen 600mg. when needed. Pravastatin Sodium 40mg. once a day and Alprazolam 1mg. twice a day. I have been to my doctor and have told him about it and he just says, its anxiety. Does anyone know what might be causing this ?? I am tired of hearing that it is anxiety ! Please help !!!!!!!!!!!

Avatar n tn Jen, Hypoglycemia is not the same as diabetes, but they both have to do with insulin and blood sugar. Type 1 diabetes is different from Type 2, too. As I understand hypoglycemia, it is the condition where a person produces TOO MUCH insulin in response to glucose. Type 1 diabetes is often called Juvenile Diabetes because most folks with it are diagnosed before adulthood.
Avatar n tn I have been reading information on Diabetes and MS being closley linked and that the chance of developing MS is higher in people with diabetis, do anyone have any thoughts on this.
Avatar m tn My internist told me its muscular neuropathy caused by diabetes. Put me on citalopram and painkillers. My 2HR glucose was 117 and after 2hrs 170 .generally my sugar level is higher above 150 at random. I still have under arm pain and thighs pain though it has lessened now. But when it returns ,I feel bouts of anxiety and stress. I'm not on diabetes treatment. I believe I had diabetes since long. I have lipomas, when they form I'm in extreme pain.
Avatar f tn Congratulations on trying to conceive! I was being treated with Metformin for my diabetes risk and irregular cycles. For women, Metformin can also make them super fertile (odd side effect) while regulating blood sugars. I'm not familiar with men and fertility issues, so I did a quick search and found this: Male Infertility & Diabetes DCS: What about diabetes and infertility as it is related to males? Does it cause fertility issues in men, too? Dr. Falcone: Yes.
Avatar f tn But then, I manage and control my glucose levels carefully and live a healthy lifestyle. Quoting from an article on mismanaged diabetes, "Researchers believe that up to 50% of people with diabetes will experience some sort of sexual dysfunction at some point. But even if diabetes doesn’t directly cause sexual dysfunction, other diabetes-related health issues can influence your sexual desire and may be a threat to intimacy within a relationship.
Avatar n tn Let me try and answer your questions about exercise and diabetes. I am not aware of any connection between the onset of diabetes and over-exertion. Exercise helps people with diabetes keep their blood sugar in good control and within a normal range. Glucose is used while exercising, which would lower the blood sugar level, not raise it. If you are predisposed to developing type 1 diabetes, no amount of exercise will change this.

Avatar f tn I am young and rather active, but have a bad family history with diabetes and inflammatory bowel diseases. Sometimes I feel like no matter what I do my genetics always win. Just wondering if I am alone here or if others have the same problems.
Avatar f tn At 8, he needs to lay down because it hurts too much to move around, at 9 he has trouble breathing and it hurts so much that he cries and has trouble seeing, and then 10 is the absolute worst and he needs to go to the emergency room because he feels like he's going to die. He's seen neurologist after neurologist and they don't know what's wrong.
Avatar n tn There are many risks in being an insulin dependant diabetic and getting pregnant but many women do it and have healthy babies (me being one!) Studies have shown that effective control of diabetes during the periconceptional period (refers to the period of time three months before pregnancy through the first three months of pregnancy) in women with diabetes reduces the risk for birth defects in their children.
Avatar f tn well i got digestinal diabetes while pregnant and my question is after i have the baby how do i know if the diabetes goes away do u eat normally like u ate before and check ure sugars to see if your body responds or do u keep yourself on the diet u have been and for how long after, also what could happen if u eat sweets right after delivery (craving cheese cake and icescream for the longest time)???
Avatar f tn t getting any better. He also has a strong sensitivity to light and is always cowering away from it and covering his eyes. Please guys is there anyone out there who recognizes these symptoms or can offer any advice. I am actually writing this from along side his bed in hospital where they are telling me it's a gastro bug ! (I don't agree).
Avatar f tn I have pre-existing diabetes, and my last baby came unexpectedly. I went for a regular checkup and her heartbeat was dipping too fast and too often, so they induced that day. I was totally blindsided and unprepared. So my advice would be to be ready for the unexpected. You could possibly have your baby early. Hopefully all goes well and your sugar will stay in control and lead to a healthy, full term baby.
