Hence please get this assessed by a neurologist. A MRI of the brain should be done. Take care!
Avatar f tn Probably you had a concussion and having Post Concussion effects. You can consult a Neuro-Otologist and Neurologist and see if you have any inner ear issues. Reason for dizziness can be very many. Get an MRI done to be safe.

Mine thought as a concussion but turned out to be a bleeding on the brain which was found out after 4 days. So best is take get the MRI's as soon as possible and later it may also not show up.

Avatar f tn About the best any of us can do is get a professional examination and diagnosis from a veterinarian. The symptoms sound like what can happen when a human has a concussion, memory loss, disorientation, maybe dizziness (not sure about the walking in circles ; ) ... I think a concussion is normally temporary but some are worse. I do recall reading/hearing about concern about multiple concussions in humans, especially children. Said another way, one usually isn't a big problem.
Avatar f tn A brain MRI is advocated to rule out any concussion. Otherwise she could be suffering from migraine headaches and double vision and mydriasis. This diagnosis would be based on clinical analysis and exclusion of others. Let a neurologist examine her in detail. Take care.

Avatar f tn I have a 9 y/o daughter that has had symptoms of headache, dizziness, nausea, aching for a couple years. PCP did work ups & never really found anything. Well 4 weeks ago she had a bad fall down hardwood stairs & hit the back of her head off 7 steps. Diagnosed w/ a concussion. 4 weeks later all previous symptoms worse, headache nonstop of varying degrees, dizziness, nausea & tingling in legs which is new. MRI turned up Chiari Malformation Type 1 of 7 mm.

My PCP...a U of M Family Practice doc referred me to Neurology. Neurology will not see me until December! I am weary of these symptoms, and tired of defending my own mental stability. Avatar f tn Though Asperger’s by it self will not prolong concussion, the diagnosis of concussion in Asperger’s is often overlooked and some other cause or the disease itself attributed to as a cause of symptoms post injury. Avatar n tn The problem is, your symptoms are right in line with post concussion syndrome, but anxiety symptoms include almost anything. I mean, look at the posts here, we get all kinds of weird physical and mental stuff. But yours started after a fall and a doctor saying you had a concussion. You need to advocate for yourself in a stronger way and eliminate any physiological explanation before attributing this to anxiety.

We live in Ohio and are trying to find the best Chiari expert in our area. We will travel if necessary. Any help you can give us will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely.

The problem in the inner ear, the symptoms can be suppressed by medications, but the basic problem may still be there, unless it is due to causes like Labyrinthitis, then it can resolve. The loss of balance could also be due to other causes like cerebellar disorders. Symptoms related to cerebellum are difficulty walking, tremors, difficulty with fine tasks and an inability to talk.
Avatar n tn Your symptoms could be due to migraine or PCS ( post concussion syndrome ) because of the concussion that you had years ago.Please go for an MRI brain to know the exact cause and consult a neurologist for treatment as a delay could be dangerous. Hence your doctor has asked you to wait and watch. A CT scan is a must for any type of head injury if you are above 65 years of age, for whiplash injuries, roadside accidents, persistent vomiting, seizures etc. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.
