These being the numbness and tingling in the left arm and hand which is now in both arms. I have recovered from the concussion symptoms of slurred and backwards speech and the migraine headaches but these nerve damage symptoms are ongoing and seem to get worse with time and activity. I am most concerned since they will not do surgery and therefore am coping to the best of my ability!

Oh, I don't like the sound of that. While it might be normal to vomit, it can equally be a sign that he's had a little concussion or small bleed in his brain. So, take him on over to the ER, especially if you notice he's overly sleepy, and have him checked out. It can't hurt. My brother had a hit on his head like that, he said he felt out of it for a few minutes, but then he was okay. But he is an adult.
I diagnosed concussion because I had pretty much all the symptoms of one. And I didn't go to the hospital for two reasons 1) I didn't feel like trusting my driving skills after that 2) I did a typical test for "serious" head trama (watching what your eyes do, how long you can focus on things ext) so I knew it wasn't "serious" so I didn't think to go. I know thats bad but what can I say.
A NeuroPsych diagnosed Post Concussive syndrome. None of the structural studies (MRI, CT, etc) provided any positive findings, and the symptoms lasted over 1 year. But on my physical exam (she is my wife) showed unilateral muscle atrophy in 1 lower extremity. An obscure repeat EMG showed activity in 3 of 4 limbs (anterior horn disease), and a prognosis of possible ALS came about. Hi, Seems like you have post concussion syndrome. There are lots of people suffer after a concussion or mild traumatic brain injury. I had a mild TBI and been disabled for about 11 months now with PCS.
Seems like you had several concussions and there are lot of things you can do to help yourself.
First of all you need to take rest and let the brain heal. Get an appointment with Neuro-Psychologist who can do a complete evaluation and diagnose properly.
Your symptoms could be due to migraine or PCS ( post concussion syndrome ) because of the concussion that you had years ago.Please go for an MRI brain to know the exact cause and consult a neurologist for treatment as a delay could be dangerous. Yesterday I suffered mild blow to the head. I have hit my head many times before, much harder than yesterday and yet, I've never experienced any symptoms that might be indicative of concussion. Yesterday, however, I felt a bit dizzy for a few minutes immediately after having been hit. Also, 15 minutes following the blow, I started to feel a bit nauseated.
I would rather have my MRI read in Cleveland. I wonder how long a person can have concussion symptoms. If the symptoms should have disappeared by now, I have to wonder if it is the Chiari that is worse bc of the hard hit on the head.

symptoms of a concussion can last days, weeks or longer....you never know. and these symptoms you are experiencing now could go away and you could end up with diff symptoms some time after. Im not a doctor but am speaking through experience. what meds did they prescribe you?

Also I am incredibly unbalanced and all of these symptoms worsened after my last concussion which happened to be my fifth. From this one I had a report of severe concussion with mild amnesia, which four months later has not gone away. I also exhibit no abnormalities in my eyes. Sorry I forgot to include this before.

Ok so about 7-8 months ago I suffered a concussion and was off work for quite a time I am getting back to it now.
My question is can suffering a concussion cause depression and suicidal thoughts as well as self harm? Basically when I was a teenager I was suicidal and a cutter and haven't done anything like that since, until I got the concussion and a few months into the treatment etc I started cutting again and feeling suicidal.
