I suffered a concussion 4 months ago when I fell during a parade with my high school band. My mom took me to the ER and I was diagnosed with a concussion. I had a CT scan and nothing was out of the ordinary, and it seemed to just be a mild concussion. 4 months later, I'm still having issues. I'm a junior in high school and concentration and memory issues made me switch out of all of my honors classes into regular ones and drop both math and science completely.

It can take up to 2 weeks for all symptoms to stop. Normally after 2-3 days symptoms start to decrease. Could you have been misdiagnosed...possible unless a test was done. But I would guess that this would be gonorrhea from the symptoms.

...it all depends on how busy the office is and with some drs it depends on the symptoms u report and the MRI's u sent....most tend to get those in with the most need first and then....so on. I would expect it to be 2 weeks.....that's about the time for TCI to get back to me once they had received everything. If u called them and they do not have files to go by, then I am sure they will go by what u told them.It is so hard to wait for these appointments and dx's.

If I focus on any one thing to long I get tunnel vision. At what appear to be random times, my vision completely blanks out on either one or both eyes. Most often the right half of my vision on both eyes goes black. Also randomly, I get large spots of different colors (red, yellow, green, and blue.) which usually present themselves by making everything i see limited to that color and the variations of black to white.

It depends on what med you're taking. If you're taking a T4 med, it takes 4-6 weeks for the dosage change to take full effect, though you might feel slight changes in symptoms within a couple days; going from full blown hyper to hypo and back within a couple days is pretty much not going to happen, though it's VERY common for symptoms to worsen or for new ones to appear when changing doses... you just have to stay the course for a few weeks and let the med do its thing.

First off thank you very much for your response, it is really appreciated. Like I said I already suffer from post concussion syndrome after a life of contact sports so this is why I feel as though I am especially sensitive. The doctor at the er just did some basic physical tests, she said it may make my post concussion syndrome worse so I should take at least a few days off to take it easy.

How long does the treament take? My doctor said that it will be at least 6 months of antibiotics and supliments to help our ammune systems before we can think of this going away. Does it every really go away? My son is tired all the time. And he is hurting so much. I can't do anything for him. I just want some kind of an answer and maybe we will see the end of the tunnel.
