I have had sexual encounter with an individual (receiving oral only) back in March 08 and developed Molluscum contagiosum per my dermatologist and prior to that i had protected intercourse and unprotected oral back in December 07 . I approached a dermatologist back in August getting concerned and used clindamycin on the lesions. it hadn't helped, hence the doctor applied some ointment on my last two visits.
I have checked the site carefully and already know that the risk of getting an STD from cunnilingus is extremely low even if one has minor gum disease etc.... My question is a bit fact specific. Yesterday I went to an Asian Massage Parlor. I received a handjob, which I know is safe sex, but I also gave her at least ten minutes of oral, mostly focused on her clitoris and mostly licking and sucking on it. I do not think I inserted my tongue.
I have noticed several times in the past year that i have had vaginal odor ....fishy smell. I have been with the same man for a year so i dont think its an std. the first time i had this odor, i went to the doctor and had test done. my test came back fine. the smell just goes away after a while...not sure what to do.
I went to a dermatologist and he said that’s just a folliculitis and I take oral and local antibiotics for around 15 days such as clindamycin and doxycyclin with local Fusidic acid , and still no improvement and new pimples appears . there is no lesions occurs in my penis or on around the anal .
has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects.
HOWEVER, i have read that this drug is not commonly used to treat std's as there are so many better options. Is clindamycin going to work??? Thanks.
About 3 Weeks ago, I noticed a few small clusters(Flea Bite Size) of bumps on my inner-thigh and going around up my buttocks, I waited to see if they go away thinking they were just bug bites and the itching became so unbearable I had to go to the ER, I also don't have insurance till January. The doctor diagnosed me with Folliculitis, I pointed out I had smaller red looking bumps around my belly button and over the top of my thighs.
Prescribed ofloxacin, desonide and clindamycin with no results. Currently halfway through doxycline two week course and showing no real changes.
The redness on top of penis tip changes from bright red when erect to mildy red when relaxed. There is a bright red spot that is about 1mm in size that the redness on tip seems to emanate from. Doctors don't think much of the redness although it is not "normal" because it was not there before. Could this be HPV?
I have been to a dermatologist last month and she simply said it is related to friction and moisture at the genital locations and prescribed me a clindamycin phosphate topical gel. Although I have used it regularly for a week, twice a day, the bumps are still there and didnt seem to heal. I was wondering what these bumps could be and what should be my next step to get rid of them.
P.S. As I regularly get tested for panel STDs, I know that I am STD free..
Treatment is by topical antibiotics and steroids. Local antibiotics of erythromycin and Clindamycin group also help. Retenoid group of drugs also help. Wear loose fitting clothes. Get your diabetes status checked as high blood sugar can also cause recurrent boils. Consult a skin specialist. Also get a cxomplete STD panel done. Take care!
t seem to have problems with doxycycline, amoxicillin or clindamycin. Clindamycin destroys my stomach though. I avoid cipro and zithromax.
Ive had an infection in my mouth from my wisdom teeth for a little over a week now and yesterday my dentist prescribed me Clindamycin. 300 mg. I have taken 4 capsules since then, and it just now dawned on me that I might not be able to find out if I had gotten syphillis from that girl. Is it too late and should I be worried I might have gotten syphillis and given it to my ex even after a negative test at 5 weeks?
2. Should I get tested again for Hepatitas C?
I've had this rash for quite a few years now I went to the Dermatologist recently he prescribed me 1 % Clindamycin Lotion Lotion that hasn't done anything for it.. he told me it is a minor fungal rash.. I've tried everything Jock Itch Food Powder.. Clotrimazole Cream.. I've tried home remedies Aloe and a few others.. nothing it getting it to go away. The Doctor also told me I may have minor psoriasis but I researched the rash and it doesn't look anything like it.
I was dating a guy for awhile who had a vasectomy. The last time we were intimate was the last day of my period and ever since then (4 weeks ago) I've noticed a different odor down there that didn't smell bad, just not me. He has not had any STD-like symptoms. After my most recent period, the odor got stronger and now there is a pasty white discharge that I've never had before. There are no sores, itching, burning, or pain.
Well just this Monday I decided to go the doctor(2 Weeks of agony, yes I am dumb). He gave me some clindamycin b/c he said it was probably just an infection from the clippers (He didn't even look down there, cheap doctor). I have been taking those, and putting some Desoximetasone cream down there, and it seems to be a lot better than before, but it still has slight itching between my legs, someone help me please.
Did you self medicate your self? you need to see a doctor for a proper diagnosis..
If it still itches and the monostat did not work, it could be what is called Bacterial Vaginosis (NOT an std). I get them more often than YI's and they are very similar so most doctors will treat for both if they did not do a culture to actually find out. Treatment for BV is metronidazole or clindamycin (both antibiotics). Ask your Dr. if this could be the problem. There are always bacteria in the vagina but when they get oout of wack you can get BV. I have two failed implants due to infection which did not respond to Clindamycin. I also got a bad reaction to Clindamycin a feeling of big lump in throat, sore throat and severe heartburn. In spite of the fact that I drank at least 10ounces of water with each pill.
My question is since I'm allergic to penicillin. What antibiotic is effective for teeth and gum infections????

Also, the infection has been treated with numerous antibiotics (amoxicillin, flagyl, omnicef, augmentin, clindamycin), and all seem to help at first, but only clindamycin has lasting effects. Not even augmentin worked. Any idea on what kind of bacteria would respond to clindamycin but not augmentin?
Is an excruciating headache a sign of a reaction to clindamycin? I can't take it anymore, and my CT scan came back clean. I'm on the antibiotic as a preventative measure after sinus surgery (I'm about a week out). There's no infection, and all the drainage, etc. is normal.
I have googled Clindamycin and found that there is a link between torsades and Clindamycin. Is this drug in the same family as Erythromycin? Should I be safe and stop taking it. I have been taking it for 4 days and have 1 day left. My infection, which wasn't very bad to start with, is now gone. I have been having an increase of bradycardia and PVCs and I am a bit concerned. I don't have an ICD.

I've taken Clindamycin and fluconazole to kill a yeast infection. But now my doctor tells me I might possibly get it back because antibiotics can cause yeast infections. I'm not even sure...
I have been prescribed Clindamycin to clear up a possible tooth infection. I was wondering if anyone has had any heart rhythm problems attributed to antibiotics. I have pvcs/pacs, all tests, ekg, echo has come back completely normal. Im just worried about taking a new medication,, afraid it may cause the palpitations to be worse, better yet cause a dangerous arrythmia!! Any advice would be great!!
) On the other hand, would I endanger my health by taking the Clindamycin after so many other recent antibiotic courses (including 16 days of Clindamycin in September)?
