benzaclin

Avatar n tn At night before bed I wash face with a soapless gentle cleaner, or brevoxyl 4 and use clindamycin lotion. The clindamycin lotion makes my face more oily it seems, and is pretty thin, like milk. So far i've been on this regime for more than 3 weeks ,and the doxycilin and brevoxyl has cleared up my chest and back, and thighs almost completly, but my face has just been getting worse. Should I have seen results by now. My next appointment is on the 23.
Avatar f tn Saw a Dermatologist today. He barley looked at it and just seemed rushed. He prescribed Clindamycin Phosphate Lotion (2x a day) and Doxycycline Monohydrate 100mg capsules 1x daily). How do I know if this is the right medicine for my kind of acne? (He didn't say what kind it is other than normal) I'm afraid of all the bowel side effects I've read on their warnings, and from reviews. Should I just try to cream for starters? Or just the pills? Advice is greatly obliged. Thanks!
Avatar f tn m using the clindamycin lotion twice daily, but progress has sort of plateaued. The clindamycin will get it to the point where it forms some new skin over the top but then starts to crack and peel again, and I'm back to square one. I've tried every lip balm, at the doctor's suggestion I tried a week of nothing but Vaseline, I've tried days of absolutely nothing, but it just stays every time.
948202 tn?1245941816 It has hyaluronic acid in the form of a serum. Also, i use clindamycin phosphate lotion to prevent breakouts during the day. If i add this underneath the clindamycin, will it stop the clindamycin from working? Will the serum cause breakouts? It says it is for all skin types. Should i maybe use the hydrating complex after i use the clindamycin? I am 24 yr old female still experiencing some breakouts.
Avatar n tn has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects. HOWEVER, i have read that this drug is not commonly used to treat std's as there are so many better options. Is clindamycin going to work??? Thanks.
Avatar m tn In the unfortunate event that you do not read Part 2, I should note I have applied Fluocinonide .05%, Permethrin 5% cream, and Clindamycin Phosphate 1% lotion with no success.) Two months ago an itch began on the interior of my left thigh while wearing compression shorts at the gym. (I understand sometimes information may lead a doctor in the wrong direction, but it's worth noting I workout 4 times a week, and sometimes I wear my gym clothes on back-to-back days.
Avatar n tn Can i take clindamycin with my levothyroxin 75mcg . Because i have a sore throat and runny nose ?
Avatar m tn Since I turned 25, I started getting pimples here and there. The acne worsened throughout the year into cystic acne on the cheeks when I moved overseas. I lived overseas for a year, then moved back to the states, where all my acne disappeared for two months. It returned again slowly, starting out with a small rash (which went away with Desonide Cream .05%), then milia/whiteheads all over my cheeks, and then red pimples with white pus spreading from my cheeks to my chin now.
Avatar n tn Avoid picking or pressing the acne. You can also use Benzoyl peroxide 5% lotion or gel once at bedtime. An amount of lotion the size of a pea should be enough to cover most of your face. If your skin becomes red or peels, you are using too much of the medicine or applying it too often. If the symptoms persist then topical antibiotics like Clindamycin may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case. I sincerely hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn I've had this rash for quite a few years now I went to the Dermatologist recently he prescribed me 1 % Clindamycin Lotion Lotion that hasn't done anything for it.. he told me it is a minor fungal rash.. I've tried everything Jock Itch Food Powder.. Clotrimazole Cream.. I've tried home remedies Aloe and a few others.. nothing it getting it to go away. The Doctor also told me I may have minor psoriasis but I researched the rash and it doesn't look anything like it.
Avatar m tn I recently had a wisdom tooth extraction and was prescribed Clindamycin to prevent the extraction area from becoming infected. I was prescribed this medication on 5/28/2014. I was directed to take it 3x a day until it was all gone. I took it for about a week straight. I noticed while I was on the medication that I had very severe episodes of diarrhea and stomach cramping. I stopped taking the medication as of yesterday.
Avatar m tn I have googled Clindamycin and found that there is a link between torsades and Clindamycin. Is this drug in the same family as Erythromycin? Should I be safe and stop taking it. I have been taking it for 4 days and have 1 day left. My infection, which wasn't very bad to start with, is now gone. I have been having an increase of bradycardia and PVCs and I am a bit concerned. I don't have an ICD. Thanks for your help.

Avatar f tn I have read that clindamycin is a commom drug prescribed to ppl before dental work to prevent endocarditis in those with heart problems, so why would they prescribe it to someone with heart problems if it is bad?? I dont take anything for my pvcs nor are they very bad. Doctor thinks they are just stress, but considering I have had them for a year and a half, Im not so sure. This being said, should I still be concerned about taking the medicine?
Avatar n tn I recently took her to the Doctor and they prescribed Zaclir 8%, Clindamycin lotion and the Clindamycin oral. She has been on this for around a week and her face has broke out worse. Those tiny bumps have come to form acne. I have read where this sometimes gets worse before it gets better but it does not seem to be getting better yet. Should I give it more time or call the Doctor? Thank you for your help.
Avatar m tn I went to the doctor again and saw another doctor. He prescribe to me clindamycin phosphate lotion. This also did not improve my symptom. Can someone tell me what's wrong with me.
Avatar f tn The reason that the other poster could have been cured by cipro is that she may have had a Mycoplasma and it may have been sensitive to ciprofloxacin. But the standard treatment for bv is either metronidazole or Clindamycin. So you can try the cipro and see if it clears up but if it doesn't then if can take clindamycin I would then take probiotics after. Cipro can treat a lot of UTI's but not all. It depends on the bacteria that is causing the infection and how resistant it is.
Avatar n tn Clindamycin side effects diarrhea that is watery or bloody; fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms, sores in your mouth and throat A side effect is usually regarded as an undesirable secondary effect which occurs in addition to the desired therapeutic effect of a drug or medication. Side effects may vary for each individual depending on the person's disease state, age, weight, gender, ethnicity and general health. dear, drug side effect shows at theraputic dose not in doctors mistake.
Avatar m tn It is advised to keep the region clean and oil free at all times and use an antiseptic lotion post shaving. You could also try using ointments containing benzoyl peroxide/ clindamycin and see is this seems to help. If you do not notice any improvement I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician or a dermatologist for appropriate management. Hope this is helpful. Take care!

An amount of lotion the size of a pea should be enough to cover most of your face. If your skin becomes red or peels, you are using too much of the medicine or applying it too often. Engage in a diet that is low in sugar and fat but is rich in vitamins. This prevents acne by preventing the buildup of excess oil on the skin. Also refrain from touching or squeezing your acne.
Avatar m tn Hi, I took Clindamycin 300 mg 3x a day. I only finished 12 out of 21 pills as I feared the high risk of colitis associated with this drug. My question is that after stopping the medication about 3 days ago, I am having long (6"+), loose stools. Could this be c. diff? I also have a lot of gas throughout the day, some mild abdominal pain too.
Avatar f tn Since i told him I didn't want to take the Clindamycin because it made me so ill, he prescribed Cephalexin. Does anybody know anything about this drug? I looked it up and it said it is similar to penicillen. Will it work since the penicillen didn't? Sorry to sound so paranoid, but my dentist is not very easy to talk to about this and I am so scared. I hate when people/doctors think you're exaggerating. Believe me, I want to find a drug that will take care of this!
Avatar m tn I would suggest discontinuing the current medication (Sodium Sulfacetamide and Sulfur solution cream - for fear of allergic reaction) and using an OTC ointment containing benzoyl peroxide/ clindamycin. It is also advised to wash the face atleast 3 times a day with a mild soap, keep it oil free and avoid allergens such as dust, pollen, stress etc; and consider a review with your dermatologist on his/ her return. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
