clindamycin reactions

I was told to take benadryl every 4-6hrs, pepcid twice a day. Saw dr. the next day. Was given clindamycin 150mg 4x day and took that for 2 1/2 days and was told to stop because I continued with bad reactions. I am afraid that the bacteria was not killed and will return. What do you all think? I am now allergic to bactrim, penicillin and possibly clindamycin, so are there any other antibiotics that can kill cellulitis should it return?

Tried another and still having reactions so they had me stop all antibiotics. The original area is no longer swollen, red or tender. If the drugs didn't kill it can it come back in a different area or just in the same spot.

I get hives every time I have dental work lately. Currently have Clindamycin. How many days prior should I start this and how many days after should I continue?

My eight year old is allergic to amoxicillin, zithromax, clindamycin, and cefzil. We have seen an allergist, and he said there are no tests for antibiotics and that "we have a problem." jaundice, severe upper right quadrant pain, bleeding ulcers, exacerbated asthma, severe weakness, febrile seizures, N/V, and skin reactions. Now my ALT levels are > 90.5, an enlarged lobe of my liver, moderate upper right quad pain, inflamed ulcers, constantly tired and weak, and overall miserable. I tried taking clindamycin, but every time (with liquids, food, hidden in soft foods, etc) the pill lodges in my throat, then burns it raw for days. This happens with everywhere pill. has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects. HOWEVER, i have read that this drug is not commonly used to treat std's as there are so many better options. Is clindamycin going to work??? Thanks.

behind my right ear was swollen, in reaction to the scalp thing. I have a history of allergies to antibiotics, but as far as we knew I could tolerate Clindamycin. So she decide to prescribe me Clindamycin 300mg three times a day. I took the fist two doses okay, but then started feeling as if i might have a reation? The very next pill is the one that did it to me... as the advice nurse said if you can continue to take the medicine try to but that was about it for me.

I went to ER and they gave me IV antibiotics and a script for Amoxicilian, during the other RCT and extraction treatments I was given Clindamycin. I visited my oral surgeon and he did a panarama xray and didnt see anything out of the ordinary with the teeth. He suggisted I visit my entodonist to verify I dont have a cracked root ot tooth. He couldnt say why I had swelling in my cheek.

Hey there, I have an abscessed tooth, have been on clindamycin/cleocin for 7 days now, today I have to get the tooth pulled. I can see the infection is still draining. I was wondering if anyone knows what would be the safest antibiotic for me to take, considering that I have cirrhosis. I would appreciate any advice. I had asked for anything in the penicillin family however the doctor gave me the above instead.

t seem to have problems with doxycycline, amoxicillin or clindamycin. Clindamycin destroys my stomach though. I avoid cipro and zithromax.

Also, i use clindamycin phosphate lotion to prevent breakouts during the day. If i add this underneath the clindamycin, will it stop the clindamycin from working? Will the serum cause breakouts? Also, the infection has been treated with numerous antibiotics (amoxicillin, flagyl, omnicef, augmentin, clindamycin), and all seem to help at first, but only clindamycin has lasting effects. Not even augmentin worked. Any idea on what kind of bacteria would respond to clindamycin but not augmentin?

Is an excruciating headache a sign of a reaction to clindamycin? I can't take it anymore, and my CT scan came back clean. I'm on the antibiotic as a preventative measure after sinus surgery (I'm about a week out). There's no infection, and all the drainage, etc. is normal.

I have googled Clindamycin and found that there is a link between torsades and Clindamycin. Is this drug in the same family as Erythromycin? Should I be safe and stop taking it. I've taken Clindamycin and fluconazole to kill a yeast infection. But now my doctor tells me I might possibly get it back because antibiotics can cause yeast infections. I'm not even sure...

I have been prescribed Clindamycin to clear up a possible tooth infection. I was wondering if anyone has had any heart rhythm problems attributed to antibiotics. I have pvcs/pacs, all tests, ekg, echo has come back completely normal. I wrote in to you and you suggested to try Clindamycin or another drug. I took two of them into the vet to get the Clindamycin. He looked at one and said "oh he just has bad teeth". I thought this is strange as his teeth were fine until he contracted this ailment. He looks at the female and right away and said cancer! He did no biopsy or testing nor did he offer to do such. I find this extremely odd that I would have 4 cats who come down with this baffling ailment at apx.

Can i take clindamycin with my levothyroxin 75mcg . Because i have a sore throat and runny nose ?

About 5 weeks ago I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed, and the oral surgeon prescribed me Clindamycin to prevent infection. A day or two after I finished my prescription I noticed that I wiped up a little blood on the toilet paper after going to the bathroom. I looked it up on the internet, and it said blood from the rectum could possibly be due to antibiotics, so I thought no big deal. I was also taking Ibuprofin and Vicodin for pain during the antibiotics.

it does sound like an infection, but in my opinion, it is too risky to give the baby the clindamycin w/ out taking him/her to the vet. Way too risky and clindamycin might not be the correct antibiotic for the kitten's problem. Please come back w/ an update. Wishing the best for the kitten.
