Avatar n tn Thanks for the response. I think i will go for a second opinion in regards to these lesions. I am either being really paranoid about the whole issue of std...i feel like lymph glands are swollen in the neck which i dont know if is psychological.. I am not a good judge of that ...but reading online and researching has made me really concerned.should i visit an ENT doctor too? Are there any symptoms that I look for that can make me feel at ease before i do get tested?
Avatar m tn says maybe urethritis and only option left is clindamycin. But there was never any unprotected sex. I go to an STD specialist and a urologist when discharge continues. Both say the discharge is clear "like a teardrop" so no need to worry and it'll fix itself. Swab, urine cultures and analysis of prostate fluid all neg. But discharge continues. Symptoms cleared up 2 weeks ago. 1. Am I infected? What's causing this? STD Dr. said "probably prostate." Uro.
Avatar m tn Second, about a week before the incident I had a root canal and because of a gum or tissue infection in the area of the tooth I had been on Clindamycin for about five days, would that lower my chances of getting oral ghonorrea or would the prior infection raise them? Finally, there were no visible sores in her vaginal area so I know this lowers the Herpes risk, but does my being diabetic raise it and if I had gotten HSV 1 or genital type on my mouth how long until sores would appear.
Avatar n tn I have noticed several times in the past year that i have had vaginal odor ....fishy smell. I have been with the same man for a year so i dont think its an std. the first time i had this odor, i went to the doctor and had test done. my test came back fine. the smell just goes away after a while...not sure what to do.
Avatar n tn I went to a dermatologist and he said that’s just a folliculitis and I take oral and local antibiotics for around 15 days such as clindamycin and doxycyclin with local Fusidic acid , and still no improvement and new pimples appears . there is no lesions occurs in my penis or on around the anal .
Avatar n tn I wouldn't even treat for "possible infection" with either. I'd wait for test results to come back to see if you even have either of them. clindamycin isn't going to help for either if you should be infected with either of them. you are wasting your time and money by taking it.
Avatar m tn t better when you are finished with the meds, then until you have insurance, you might seek help at the Health Dept STD clinic who often sees people for free or for sliding scale.
Avatar m tn My penis tip has been red and meatus inflammed for over two months. The redness on tip started a few days after oral sex without protection and intercourse with protection. Meatus swelled after two weeks. Tested negative for STDs with urine and blood tests. Prescribed ofloxacin, desonide and clindamycin with no results. Currently halfway through doxycline two week course and showing no real changes.
Avatar n tn I'm allergic to penicillin and sulfa. Dentist prescribed Clindamycin 150 mg for 10 days for infection in my tooth. Got hives, rash, swollen lips and extreme itching and blotches from head to toe. Was on vacation so stopped medication after 3 days of taking it. It is now 5 days taking benadryl and the hives and itching have not stopped. What is in the clindamycin that I may be allergic to?
Avatar f tn I have been to a dermatologist last month and she simply said it is related to friction and moisture at the genital locations and prescribed me a clindamycin phosphate topical gel. Although I have used it regularly for a week, twice a day, the bumps are still there and didnt seem to heal. I was wondering what these bumps could be and what should be my next step to get rid of them. P.S. As I regularly get tested for panel STDs, I know that I am STD free..
Avatar f tn Go to the doctor. Clindamycin is a high risk for gut issues.
Avatar f tn I've had this rash for quite a few years now I went to the Dermatologist recently he prescribed me 1 % Clindamycin Lotion Lotion that hasn't done anything for it.. he told me it is a minor fungal rash.. I've tried everything Jock Itch Food Powder.. Clotrimazole Cream.. I've tried home remedies Aloe and a few others.. nothing it getting it to go away. The Doctor also told me I may have minor psoriasis but I researched the rash and it doesn't look anything like it.
Avatar f tn Treatment is by antibiotics and you can use metronidazole gel or clindamycin cream for local application on vagina. They have fewer side effects. But inform your gynecologist before talking them. I hope it helps. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar m tn Hi, thanks for your reply. I was interested in knowing why Clindamycin can't be taken with milk based products.
948202 tn?1245941816 I have not had any breakous for about 2 months since using clindamycin during the day, and sulfacetamide at night. I just recently added the retin-a becasue i wanted some anti-aging benefit. Also, i would like to add an antioxidant serum to my skin since i live in florida and want to protect my skin from UV etc.Do you recommend anything that wont break me out. When would i apply it before or after clindamycin? I use blue lizard face suncream as my spf.
Avatar n tn Treatment is by topical antibiotics and steroids. Local antibiotics of erythromycin and Clindamycin group also help. Retenoid group of drugs also help. Wear loose fitting clothes. Get your diabetes status checked as high blood sugar can also cause recurrent boils. Consult a skin specialist. Also get a cxomplete STD panel done. Take care!
Avatar f tn m not sure if the spots on the back of my throat are attributed to mild acid reflux, stress, antibiotics (I was taking Clindamycin vaginally for BV during the week i slept with the guy), or oral gonorrhea, or ARS.
Avatar m tn s when the itching started, I bathed in clorox/bleach and everything seemed cool for about 2 days then I started getting really dry and uncomfortable between my inner thigh groin area. I was told that was probably from the bleach drying my skin. That's all I had for a while, but then it started to get back worse between the inner thigh area, its like an itching/dry feeling all the time. Well just this Monday I decided to go the doctor(2 Weeks of agony, yes I am dumb).
Avatar n tn Thank you so much for your response. May I also ask what length of time would I take the Biaxin? And is there any home treatment, Like garlic pills etc. that would help augment healing? ( since Biaxin is not considered the best treatment.) Although I'm stuck with that. And frankly, I was on the Clindamycin for weeks and that didn't get rid of the infection, so maybe a broad spectrum antibiotic will work for me. I sure hope so. thank you again for your advice.
Avatar n tn s and they are very similar so most doctors will treat for both if they did not do a culture to actually find out. Treatment for BV is metronidazole or clindamycin (both antibiotics). Ask your Dr. if this could be the problem. There are always bacteria in the vagina but when they get oout of wack you can get BV. Hope this helps!
Avatar m tn Hoping that Clindamycin will work...If the Clindamycin does not work...is there another medicine that could do the trick?
Avatar m tn Well I had slight pelvis pain for about 2 weeks now, comes and goes, then this morning woke up to some clear discharge/white not a lot, it doesn't burn when I pee and nothing else hurts. I started taking 300 mg Clindamycin HCL 4 times a day today, how long before this stops?
Avatar f tn Also, the infection has been treated with numerous antibiotics (amoxicillin, flagyl, omnicef, augmentin, clindamycin), and all seem to help at first, but only clindamycin has lasting effects. Not even augmentin worked. Any idea on what kind of bacteria would respond to clindamycin but not augmentin?
