Avatar m tn s version of MRSA and it cleared it up in 1-2 weeks
Avatar n tn I agree on the MRSA. Let your doctor know about them. They can run a test to see if it MRSA or not. It has to be treated with antibiotics. It's also highly contagious.
Avatar n tn I can't comment on the choice of antibiotics. Discuss that with your MDs. Yes your boyfriend is at risk for MRSA and proper precautions need to be taken. Discuss those with your MDs also.
Avatar f tn hi everyone. i have mrsa, been taking clindamycin 300 mg every 6 hours for 4 months now. it cleared up, went to 2 pills a day, and they all poped up again. they are dark, and when i pop them, for the first time puss is draining. doc says don't pick, but they hurt and get bigger unless i pop them. for 4 months it was just blood. there is a hard dot in the middle it hurts, but then it is relief. any comments???Please....
1467965 tn?1288901625 the more traditional healthcare-associated (HA-) MRSA infections, CA-MRSA can be treated with more drugs than HA-MRSA including to sulfa drugs, tetracyclines and clindamycin. CA-MRSA is typically associated with skin and wound infections, In the UK, it is called Golden Staph. We see quite a bit a CA-MRSA in the US in football, lacrosse, soccer and field hockey players and it has been linked to skin abrasions caused by artificial turf.
Avatar f tn I worked in a nursing home doing housekeeping... Just quit working there a month ago because of this... I have had mrsa for a while now been on antibiotics for 2 months now doxycicline.
Avatar m tn FYI, most impetigo is caused by the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus. Some by Streptococcus pyogenes (the same strep that causes strep throat). This kind of Staph causes boils, or crusty kinds of infections. If it becomes multi-drug resistant then they call it MRSA. But yours probably isn't MRSA. Where do you have it and is it on a large part of your body? Usually, you can use the triple antibiotic ointment on it and that will take it away.
Avatar f tn She developed MRSA in the wound. My question is we are a gay couple, can she transmit MRSA to me via oral sex?
Avatar f tn Over the past year, I have been tested for problems with my gall bladder due to persistant upper right quad pain, especially after eating or drinking something. I was diagnosed with bleeding ulcers after an EGD in March of 2009. My treatment included protonix, bentil, and sucralfate. I have also had problems with slightly elevated liver enzymes for over a year. My levels seem to fluctuate between normal and elevated.
Avatar n tn I have had MRSA several times. The last one was in my mastoid bone in both ears that was cleared up this past January. Well I have come down with a boil on the left side of my face next to the eye that was lanced and cultured today. It hurts like hell and it has a bandage that covers it. Now it is starting to itch. I also have a boil on my eyelid that is continuing to grow. It was nothing last night and now it has become big enough to where the eye looks swollen.
Avatar m tn It looks possible then that you are correct in thinking that the problem is not MRSA, but the MRSA is coincidentally there - where it can normally be without causing any problem. If you have petechiae, then you might expect to see also bleeding from the gums, or else easy bruising anywhere.
487969 tn?1249313291 I HAVE NOW EXPERIENCED A REAL ANXIETY ATTACK - well, make that 3! I have been in the hospital since Sunday - that really stinks b/c I don't have a laptop so was forced to watch TV the entire week. I am now further adicted to CSI Miami, but have gotten over LAW & ORDER, because I am sure I have seen them all. Still love the L&O SVU, but the original has definitely run its course with me!!!
Avatar n tn Have had unprotected sex couple of times but test hiv - in june 08. i just found out she has these acne like spot on her face and shoulder. She say it body ance. I read the bottle of cream she uses and its Clindamycin. I looked it up and it say it is use to treat acne and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Is methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus common in people who are hiv + ? She also has vigoligo. Couple week ago i broke out with the same kind of acne she has.
577106 tn?1219839345 1) Healthcare-associated MRSA (HA-MRSA) infections which occur in people who are or have recently been in the hospital; and 2) Community-associated MRSA (CA-MRSA) infections are ones that occur in otherwise healthy people who have not recently been in the hospital. Diagnosis is usually made through blood, urine or skin culture. For a local skin MRSA infection, draining the skin sore is often the only treatment needed. However.
Avatar m tn I had unprotected vaginal and oral with a girl of unknown background back in January. The next morning I had a thin red line under my lower lip that resolved in a couple days, no pain no itch. Since then I've been worried about all sorts of things. Here are the tests I've had: 1/30 Chlamydia PCR NEGATIVE 2/20 Gonorrhea PCR NEGATIVE 4/4-ish HIV and Herpes NEGATIVE Herpeselect IGG <.9 for both HSV 1 and 2 I'm still worried.
Avatar m tn I presented with only one sore at my cheekbone and was given clindamycin orally for 14 days and Bactroban ointment for topical use. The sore was believed to be an early indication of MRSA. I quickly developed cellulitis and swelling near, but not touching, the apparent abscess, as well as blisters in my nose. I used the mupiricin.(Bactroban) to keep the nasal blisters moist. Now diagnosed with post-herpetic neuralgia, but I still have blisters in my nose treating with Bactroban.
Avatar n tn I have also tried topical treatment like Fucidin, Mupirocin, clindamycin and gentamicin. I have tried hot compress on the scalp which gives only temporary relief of symptoms. I am also getting folliculitis of the beard area .Current symptoms include pustules all over the scalp and severe pain of the hair root area (prevents me from putting head on pillow and combing hair) .I have had 1 culture of the pustule done in India which showed that the organism was staphylococcus.
Avatar f tn I get the same exact blistered infected bubble/blister on my index finger atleast 2x a yr and well ive been told its mrsa cellitus abscess and herpetic whitlow......everytime i get this i do not open up the blister but a red streak goes up to my shoulder.i just got another one 3days ago n yesterday went to er because i knew i need iv antibotics to stop red streak...
Avatar m tn Afternoon. I have had cellulitis in my nose for over a month.... took Bactrim, Clindamycin, and another 5 days of Bactrim.. which didn't help in the first place... but... i have this swollen membrane (i guess) from the tip of my nose about 1/2 inch back... it always feels like it is going to swell up again.... with no insurance another 125.00 is not what I want to pay since it seems like none of that helped anyway... anybody have any thoughts on this one???
Avatar n tn It is now 5 days taking benadryl and the hives and itching have not stopped. What is in the clindamycin that I may be allergic to?
Avatar m tn Alright, here is how my story goes, I've had MRSA twice in the last maybe 2 to 3 months. It wasn't bad enough for hospitalization so i was put on Clindamycin for 10 days both times. As of the last 2 weeks, I've developed what i thought was jock itch. red burning itchy patchy oozing areas on thighs and under testicles. Let me tell you guys, this is hell... ITCHING AND BURNING and the ooze just makes for thinking you pee'd yourself a little....
Avatar f tn s had chronic prostatitis for 3 1/2 years, that bacteria was shown in the first test to be MRSA, but in 5 other later tests the result was methicillin resistant coagulase negative staphylococcus.. so I figured that first test was just a mistake. He thought it was related, but I thought not. That one I'm more concerned about my exposure to.. I'm not currently in the same country as him so won't be exposed to his MRSA.
Avatar n tn t aways have pus but usually is treated with antibiotics. Since it was not MRSA it sounds like the right antibiotics were given to you (clindamycin). It takes months for this to go away sometimes. Be sure to keep the towels, and wash rags , any clothes that come in contact with it very clean so as to not reinfect yourself. It you get a fever again and/or pus I would revisit the doctor.
