Avatar m tn although im a healthy person with a few sinus infections and have had no other infections since as long as I remember but I read somewhere that the result can be false negative if you have low immunogloblins... So i got myself tested for Total IgA- 17.40 g/L (ref range 0.57-5.34)...Total IgG- 2.81 g/L (ref range 6.5-16.2)..Total Igm-1.24 g/L (Ref range 0.30-2.65). My last test was HIV-DUO 10th week post exposure (Non Reactive) but now im scared again that IgG is low and IgA is very high.
Avatar m tn I am taking clarithromycin for sinus infection but I am taking Tylenol 3 for some different pain.Is it OK to take to them the same time?
Avatar n tn I would really worry about my daughters asthma and I was chronically ill from worry. Always getting lung infections/bronchitus. Do you think you are really stressed about something. Are you worried for your child also? I would have to go see the doctor and get antibiotics because I wouldn't get better. My daughter outgrew the asthma and I got rid of the chronic bronchitis.
Avatar n tn Hi, I was diagnosed with a sinus infection a few weeks ago and prescribed a z-pack, which I took with no issues. I am still feeling the symptoms in my sinuses so I went to the Dr last week and was prescribed Amoxicillin. About 20 mins after taking it I had this strange sensation on my lip...like a tingling/itching feeling and became itchy all over. I called the Dr and she prescribed Clarithromycin. I didn't want to take it right away, just in case I had a similar reaction.
Avatar n tn abscessus infections is challenging, as the organism is inherently multi-drug resistant. Historically, therapy that is often effective for other rapidly growing mycobacterial infections (e.g. erythromycin, minocycline and sulphamethoxazole) has demonstrated poor efficacy and high relapse rates. (Tigecycline is a derivative of Minocycline – see previous) Clarithromycin is active against most strains of M.
Avatar f tn After a CT scan of the sinus apparently I don't have no evidence for acute or chronic sinusitis. However, I have a deviated septum towards the right side and I also noticed it said on the paper bilateral concha bullosa, what ever that means. My ENT told me just drink plenty of fluids and hopefully my symptoms get better when the warm weather comes around.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, My mom was recently diagnosed with Hep C associated cirrhosis. She has had some complications, including esophageal varices and ascites. She remains fairly well compensated and does not exhibit symptoms such as fatigue or confusion. During an endoscopy her doctor also noticed an ulcer and tested her for H pylori (which was positive). He's prescribed Prevpac to kill the bacteria and heal the ulcer.
Avatar f tn I had a cough and congestion for about 3 weeks before the doctor was able to diagnose me with a sinus infection. He gave me 875mg of Amoxicillin-twice a day for 10 days along with ZyrtecD and Mucinex. I finished the antibiotic and one of the others at the same time. Two days later, I was still coughing--post nasal drip. I had finished all the meds so I bought some more Mucinex and started that again. In another 2 days I was still had post nasal drep so I started Claritin.
876847 tn?1240239287 Hello, Routinely vibramycin(tetracycline) is not prescribed for sinus infections as the antibiotics of choice for sinusitis are usually penicillins, macrolides, fluorquinolones or cepahalosporins. However if you want to take tetracycline antibiotics, then pls inform your PCP about it before taking it. I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
Avatar n tn i'm 23y/o i live in alaska and i've been using a cpap machine for about a year now. in the past 2 months i've had 2 sinus infections. i have never had a sinus infection prior to this. Can this be due to my cpap machine?
Avatar m tn Hi, I battle lot's of infections, mainly sinus/upper respiratory, almost monthly, my wbc is not high but always elevated. Was sent to hematology, but clinic only deals with blood cancers, which I do not have. Antibiotics work, Amoxicillin, Bactrim, etc.... but infections always returns. What physician or specialty clinic, deals with chronic infections ? So, I can discuss with my primary doctor for referral, thanks.
Avatar f tn Looks like you have developed a sinus infection which has progressed to a throat infection as well. Sinus infections cause headaches. There are tubes called 'Eustachian tubes' which connect the middle ear to the throat, this balances the air pressure in the ears. This tube can get blocked due to infections of the throat, which can give lead to a feeling of fullness in the ears and the resultant sounds. This can also result in infection of the ears.
Avatar m tn OK so a little about me, i am a 28 year old straight male...i have had genital herpes for about 5 years... i take one 500mg of valacyclovir each day and have not had one single issue since the first day i got diagnosed... next, about 3 months ago i started getting very small warts on the shaft of my penis and i went and saw a Urologist and he burned them off for me and i was good, he was unsure 100% if indeed they were HPV warts or if they were another form...
Avatar m tn Clarithromycin (Biaxin in the US) is chemically similar to azithromycin (Zithromax), one of the standard drugs for several STDs. Although it has not been studied extensively against STDs, it undoubtedly is effective in either treating or preventing all the infections that respond to azithromycin. In the dose you were give, you were protected from chlamydia, nongonococcal urethritis (NGU), gonorrhea, and probably syphilis.
Avatar m tn i suffered from a productive cough for at least 7 months, this is the 1st time i had a lung infection and my health is generally good. the cough developed while on holiday in australia. i was given several antibiotic courses which never totally resolved it. i was also never given a firm diagnosis. it began as an involuntary cough which produced thick sputum which varied between yellow and green, it progressed slowly and was not accompanied by fever.
Avatar n tn I have been feeling somewhat dizzy and having headaches underneath my eyes and across the middle of my forehead, I also have had a very stuffy nose. Are these symptoms of a sinus infection or allergies?
Avatar n tn 3 days after the event I had a sinus infection and was prescribed 500mg er Clarithromycin for 7 days. While on that antibiotic I was bit by a a fire ant and the bite became infected so 100mg twice a day for 7 days. I was on antibiotic treatment for 17days straight.(doesn't it usually take longer than that for a lesion to occur for transmission?
Avatar n tn Which tooth was removed? If it was an upper tooth, you may have a sinus infection possibly and need antibiotic treatment.
Avatar n tn Since our last post, not only was on clarithromycin for 10 days, I was on doxycycline 100mg for 7 days for infected fire ant bite. While on Doxycycline I started to feel urgency to urinate and some dribbling after urination. (I was diagnosed last year for prostititis after being tested for bacterial std's.) I called my urologist and he suggested I go on cipro 500 twice a day for ten days. The symptoms of urinating and dribbling have not subsided.
485536 tn?1209178017 For the past five or six years of my life, I have been getting sinus infections. I get them, am treated sometimes for a week, and sometimes, all the way up to three weeks. I usually feel better for about two weeks, when my symptoms present again, and I am told I have another infections. I typically get seven or eight a year. I have mild allergies to dust and grass, which I receive allergy shots for.
Avatar m tn Thanks, I'm guessing the antibiotics for the Strep would pretty much clear out any other infections.
Avatar f tn My husband has been sick with sinus infections, fevers and over all body aches for 5 months. He has been on anibiotics 4 times (first three was Avalox and now Amoxicillan). It doesn't seem to want to clear up. He has had a chronic cough that keeps him up at night and has had x-rays of the chest which were clear. It just occured to us that a tooth that has been bothering him for about a year and a half may be related.
209987 tn?1451935465 lol I have been suffering with sinus infections for most of my life...so I go through a lot of sinus rinses. lol I know I'm allergic to snow mould...but haven't found anything yet to relieve the symptoms. Anyone know a good natural antihistamine? This lung infection has been clinging to me since the start of December...the oregano oil seems to get rid of it for only a few days at a time...actually, I guess I should say that as soon as the infection goes away, I stop taking it...
