clarithromycin and ear infections

I have had x-rays ,scans and pathology test and am now on CLARITHROMYCIN but after a week there is no change... any thoughts.???

Exactly two days after this, I came down with a sore throat, ear infection and cough. The doctor said I have pneumonia and an ear that is "so infected it's gross." I am taking albuterol, clarithromycin and mucinex. Luckily, the guy that I slept with said that he had gotten an HIV test a few months ago and tested negative, and always uses condoms. I consulted some internet resources, which said that the antibiotic that I'm on is very common for people with HIV.

But here is my question. I ended up with a respiratory infection and the Doc gave me Clarithromycin, I have to take 2X 500mg a day for ten days. I started the medication the day of the sexual encounter. Will Clarithromycin help clear up any of the STD's that I might have caught during the act? There is not too much info on Clarithromycin and STD's out there. I know one thing it is sure working on my respiratory infection big time. Thanks for your responses!

I thought it was because some water got in my ear in shower, that I was having a monumental ear ache. But I went to an ENT, and he said I have an infection behind my ear-drum. And that it's because of a cold gone wrong. So then he prescribed Clarithromycin twice a day for a week. I have taken 2 tablets of the prescribed med, and my throat pain is worse than before. It's agony to swallow and I'm coughing so much. Please help me. Can I take Tylenol to help me with the pain?

Visited the doctor the third day of the infection when I was sure it was an ear infection due to thr completely clogged ear and the presence of fluid which I could feel + the severe pain (strong pulsing). So i got myself tested for Total IgA- 17.40 g/L (ref range 0.57-5.34)...Total IgG- 2.81 g/L (ref range 6.5-16.2)..Total Igm-1.24 g/L (Ref range 0.30-2.65). Youve is right, ophthalmologists take Lyme seriously. Mine sure did. If it does have a foul smell to it, there is medication available on that site as well. However, you can treat it yourself with peroxide and alchohal. (if you have the stomach for it, that is). My new dentist informed that the all of my upper teeth had to be removed re infection, now all the teeth that had deep pockets on my lower right side have been all removed wisdom and 12 year old moler, my alarms really went off when it was Jan 9th and I would be finishing my Clarithromycin on the 12th and the closes date to pull that tooth was Jan 26th.

It has been over 48 hours since I took that one dose of the Clarithromycin and now I am wondering if it was caused by that at all. Maybe its just the fact that my skin is dry due to the weather. I do have pretty significant anxiety at times and I don't know if maybe I am just more aware of being itchy or if my anxiety could somehow be causing it. So, here's my question: Is it likely that I would still be itching 48 hours after taking one pill?

Took Clarithromycin (Biaxin) for 7 days: This is a strong antibiotic so read up on all side effects. I can tell you one of the side effects is nightmares so don't take this med when going to sleep. And it's alway good to take some probiotics when taking antibiotic.

Hi, Last monday i was bitten by my cat and the doctor only gave me tetanus shot and no antibiotics. From that day onward I have had night sweats, after 4 days i returned to the clinic and the doctor said it was due to infections and he gave me Clarithromycin. My mouth felt dry everytime I'm taking my meds and I'm on my day 5 now. I had tuberculosis back in 2006 and finished my treatment. I have no coughing symptoms so far no fever just dry mouth. Should I go back to the clinic?

Oh man. No. Just be careful and don't swap spit or get too close. I had strep throat twice and an ear infection while pregnant with my daughter. I'm a strep magnet. If it's tonsilitis that he has just keep a good space and lysol when he leaves.
