I am taking clarithromycin for sinus infection but I am taking Tylenol 3 for some different pain.Is it OK to take to them the same time?
The lesion healed within a week or so and we never thought anymore of it. Recently she had a sinus infection and was given a Tri-Pak of Azithromycin. She HATES taking medicine so the doctor told her she could take all three pills at once if she wanted but he didn't suggest it. Well she did. For some reason the lesion and my oral sex episode has really been bothering me. I have been tested after that exposure and all tests were negative.

1) Currently my doctor has switched me over to doxycycline, 300 mg/day for 10 days because my sinus infection didn't respond to the clarithromycin as well as hoped. Would this dosage prevent/cure a syphilis infection, if it were present?
4 weeks i developed a sinus infection and my sinuses started bleeding, so i saw a doctor and was given 1 week of amoxyclav which cleared the sinus infection and slightly improved the cough, the sputum also turned white. the cough did not improve after this point though, i still was coughing up sputum regularly and i found it very hard to suppress my coughing fits if i ever tried to.

Hello everyone, after catching a cold in early January that led to a severe sinus infection, I went to a GP and then to an ENT after the gp's antibiotic and cough syrup didn't work. The ENT gave me clarithromycin 500mg (10 day) and methylprednisolone 4mg (6day) which has helped I believe get rid of the infection. During the treatment I also used a neti pot once in the morning for three days after reading how it helps and also because I was desperate for relief.
Yesterday 3/20/09 I was prescribed clarithromycin er 500 for 7 days for a sinus infection. After reading a lot on the internet it appears that EVERY STD can be obtained through oral sex which I was not aware. If I were your patient, what advice would you recommend? Will the anti biotic prescribed for my sinuses deal with any bacterial std I may have caught or could it suppress the symptoms? Should I be really concerned about spreading something to my girlfriend?
But here is my question. I ended up with a respiratory infection and the Doc gave me Clarithromycin, I have to take 2X 500mg a day for ten days. I started the medication the day of the sexual encounter.
Will Clarithromycin help clear up any of the STD's that I might have caught during the act?
There is not too much info on Clarithromycin and STD's out there. I know one thing it is sure working on my respiratory infection big time.

Hi, I was diagnosed with a sinus infection a few weeks ago and prescribed a z-pack, which I took with no issues. I am still feeling the symptoms in my sinuses so I went to the Dr last week and was prescribed Amoxicillin. About 20 mins after taking it I had this strange sensation on my lip...like a tingling/itching feeling and became itchy all over. I called the Dr and she prescribed Clarithromycin. I didn't want to take it right away, just in case I had a similar reaction.
So in my anxious state, I thought it best to be proactive and see if I could prevent any full infection from developing. I took 1500mg of Clarithromycin ER, and 1875mg of Amoxicillin that night. The following morning took another 1gm of the Clarithromycin ER & 1375mg of Amoxicillin. Still on Day 2 (only 24 post exposure) took 500mg Clarithromycin ER.
I'll make this as brief as I can. Several weeks ago I started a zpack for a sinus infection. No problems. I was still feeling sinus pain so went back to Dr, got amoxicillin. I started getting a weird tingly feeling on my lip and getting itchy. I stopped taking it. Dr put me on clarithromycin...but I waited a while before I started taking it. The first time I took it I was ok.
Not sure where the rest of post is. Day 2 - 500mg Clarithromycin & Amox 875mg that night. This morning took 500mg of both Clarithromycin & Amox, and Ceftiaxone 1gm IV. I am aware of CDC guidelines and think that this single dose of rocephin & a total of 5gm of Biaxin over 4-5 days (in place of Azithromycin) should be effective? Questions:
1. Mucus cultures taken by ENT show moraxella catarrhalis. I’ve read that m. catarrhalis colonizes children, and my problems started soon after having our first kid. Is there a connection? What can I do about it?
2. Should I get tested for food allergies?
3. Should I add anything to the Sinus Rinse bottle to prevent or stop infection? H2O2? Antiseptic? Xylitol? Plant extracts? Anti-fungal?
Looks like you have developed a sinus infection which has progressed to a throat infection as well. Sinus infections cause headaches. There are tubes called 'Eustachian tubes' which connect the middle ear to the throat, this balances the air pressure in the ears. next, about 3 months ago i started getting very small warts on the shaft of my penis and i went and saw a Urologist and he burned them off for me and i was good, he was unsure 100% if indeed they were HPV warts or if they were another form...How ever i had sex this morning and about 2 hrs later i noticed about 3 of these little warts again.... I am not sure if they are from the sex today because if so it was a very fast reaction.. or they were there and i haven't noticed...

Because my bronchitis had gone away only to develop into a sinus infection, I was prescribed Doxy 100mg / 2x / day for five days, which I took religiously according to instructions.
Now, 2 weeks after appearing, the bump is still there. Foolishly I keep squeezing it; on the days when I don't it shrinks with a (closed, not ulcerous head). I'm going to leave it alone from now on, but here is my question finally:

Two days ago, I had unprotected sex with my wife, and was still on the antibiotic when I had my encounter with my wife. I was on it for a sinus infection.
I was also on antibiotics for the same thing (sinus) either during or immediately after my other encounter I have had since November, and that was augmentin.
At of the end of last week, I started getting lower back pain and some lower abdominal discomfort. I have also had some testicular discomfort.
She said it was not possible oral swab to be done at that clinic (just genital). She decided to start a treatment (clarithromycin and ceftriaxone) for gonorrhea (without testing and diagnosis). I hope it works if I have oral gonorrhea. Sorry to bother you. I am just worried.
