Avatar f tn Study Confirms Benefits of Vitamin E in Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis Megan Brooks May 4, 2010 — Supplementation with the natural form of vitamin E (800 IU/day) has beneficial effects in patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), but pioglitazone's benefits are less clear, according to the latest findings from the Pioglitazone vs Vitamin E vs Placebo for the Treatment of Nondiabetic Patients with Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (PIVENS) trial, reported online April 28 in the New England
Avatar m tn Here is the article I was referring to. I hadn't remembered that it addresses nonalcoholic steatohepatitis and not simple fatty liver so it may not be as applicable as I thought. Nevertheless I will post it.
Avatar m tn At the same time that this was switched, I was also taken off of Celexa (10mg daily) which was being used as an add-on treatment for the Effexor. We stopped the Celexa due to severe bruising and nose bleeds. Is it possible that I just having withdrawal from the Celexa or can it be the Generic Effexor. At this point in time I do not feel that I am incontrol and I do not feel "safe" being on my own. Any insight would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn I found Celexa to numb feeling, more than it lifted them. I had to stop taking it because I turned into an icequeen and couldn't feel any emotions.
Avatar f tn What they did was cut Celexa in half to create Lexapro, and thus were able to get a new patent. Celexa is a lot cheaper, therefore. If Celexa is working, I probably wouldn't switch; if it isn't, then I probably would.
Avatar m tn Should a patient be on zoloft and celexa at the same time. I have a patient on celexa 20mg that started 5/17/11. She was previously on Zoloft 200mg daily that has been decreased to 100mg daily x7 days then 50mg x7days then d/c. My problem is this combination of the two. Should she have finished the tapering of zoloft before starting the celexa?
1189868 tn?1264602363 I finished 48 weeks on a study using boceprevir, and have been off it for 10 weeks. I found out that I have relapsed after the 4 week test post treatment. I don't know if I was on the placebo or the real thing and can't find out until week 24. During the treatment I was non detectable after 6 weeks.
672514 tn?1265655141 Been taking 30 mg of celexa for just over 4 weeks for anxiety....had dry mouth and a little fogginess for the first couple of weeks but that has worn off. I'm much better than I was without the celexa but still think it needs more time (or possible dosage adjustment)....been wondering if I should try lexapro but hate to change since I'm so far into the celexa. No ED for me....but was warned it was a possibility.
Avatar m tn I have been told by my doctor that I have GAD and he suggested I take Celexa. I wanted to try something that didn't have a list of side effects so I looked into SAM-E and decided to give it a try. I have been using it for the past 10 days and it seems to be working well in a short amount of time. I have no problem going on Celexa or some other SSRI if that is what it takes to not feel anxiety and all the physical symptoms that go with it, but is it possible for SAM-E to work so quickly?
Avatar f tn And what is a better drug to take? I am ADD/ADHD and really stressed out. I feel better when I take celexa 20 mg. daily and 5mg of Ritalin twice daily. I am only 4'11" and this weight HAS GOT TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Avatar f tn My research has shown that quite a few people gain weight on SSRIs. Before I started taking Celexa, I read only information given on the medical sites. I believed the literature given out with the drug and started taking it. I wish I never started. Their clinical trials only show that short term use doesn't seem to cause weight gain. However, it seems that long term use has a rather high occurrence of weight gain.

619930 tn?1260374254 for something to help me deal with anxiety/anger sides that I have been dealing with for almost 2 months. She prescribed Celexa and I started it on Thursday night and have been really nauseous along with a fuzzy almost headache ever since. I thought my stomach issues were relatively under control before this started, but now I am having the hardest time eating much of anything.

Avatar m tn Hi Everyone! Just one fast question here... I really need to start again a SSRI for my extreme panic disorder and I want to know if the Celexa will work to stop the panic disorder, since I took it for my social phobia at 60 mg/day back in 1999 for 6 months and it did nothing for the social anxiety and my anxiety level didn't improve on it?
Avatar f tn lexapro pooped out after many years. i am menopausal and having severe anxiety attacks. ativan for temp. since it's highly addictive. what is better celexa vs zoloft. am confused and scared on stopping ativan and lexapro then adding another med on top of it all. plus i gotta go back to work after the labor day weekend.
Avatar f tn Okay everyone I am desperate. I was diagnowed with severe ocd specificallyspecifically relationship OCD after coming off celexa (I weaned off as instructed). Well anyway I got intrusive thoughts wondering if I loved my very loving boyfriend anymore. I doubted everything... had break downsand decoded to go back on celexa got suicidal... the whole 9... long story short... I was switched to lexapro and am now starting week 4.
Avatar m tn Each of the studies evaluated OLYSIO™ dosed once daily in combination with pegylated interferon and ribavirin versus treatment with placebo plus pegylated interferon and ribavirin. Results from a pooled analysis of QUEST-1 and QUEST-2 demonstrated that 80 percent of treatment-naive patients in the group receiving OLYSIO™ achieved sustained virologic response 12 weeks after the end of treatment (SVR12), compared with 50 percent of patients in the placebo groups.
Avatar f tn Lexapro is very similar to Celexa, it has one of the main components of Celexa, and tends to be overall easier to tolerate, so yes, if you ARE going to discuss that with your doc...that may be the way to go. Good point, kickbutt!
1166402 tn?1303847056 Update. I got Remeron added to my Celexa (later will remove Celexa) and feel just like my old self again. I can't believe it! I thought I would never come out of that state of mind. No more Klonopin too.
134578 tn?1693250592 ve been testing Remdesivir, developed originally to fight ebola. Today Dr. Fauci announced that they were going to stop testing with a placebo group vs. a group that gets the drug, because it was clear the drug helps. He said that the median recovery time for patients taking the drug was 11 days, compared with 15 days in the placebo group. There was a mortality rate of 8% for the group receiving Remdesivir versus 11.
