celexa

Avatar n tn Zoloft vs Celexa (Cipramil) Which have people found better are treating Panic Disorder?
Avatar m tn Can I react differently to the Celexa than the Lexapro? Is it possible that with the Celexa I will have less side-effects since it's a more dirty version of the Lexapro it's suppose to have more side-effects no? Also, the only one SSRI who work in the past for my panic disorder is the Paxil... but hte Paxil do nothing for the social anxiety, like all the antidepressant meds I try...
Avatar f tn This time I had no stomach issues or the rls..It was so strange..It was a bit different the dones vs other opiates...You just hang tight..It seems that people know you here...I wish you the best..I know you can do it...Baby Steps..Right???
Avatar n tn My back hurts all the time from the excess weight, I am not sleeping well at all, and it seems that all my other medications are losing some of their effectiveness. I am extremely frustrated because I know if I ever get this worked out, the weight is not going to come off like it went on.
Avatar f tn I've been on Celexa for 6 weeks now. I knew about the possible weight gain so I started upping my exercise and really watching my food intake from the get-go. I have actually lost weight since I started taking it. You couldn't tell that from my weight tracker because I had surgery last week and have gained a couple pounds back but that's to be expected I guess. I just encourage you that not everyone gains weight on Celexa.
Avatar n tn Unless I can recover somewhat that's not likely to change, so I'm placing much importance on fixing this issue, which is much more severe now that I have Hashimoto's/CFS. There are other, serious side effects as well to the various antidepressants I've been on; I'm leaving those out so as to stay on one topic. I find that in the mornings I cannot think clearly nor exercise enough discipline to get up and take care of things. I'm typically tired, in a fog and unmotivated when I wake up.
495402 tn?1220621003 After about 24 weeks of tx I decided to try taking an SSRI and was prescribed Celexa. Then I had pretty bad insomnia that wouldn't go away so I stopped the Celexa and have just started Lexapro. If one doesn't work, there are others to try.
Avatar f tn I cannot tell you to take 4 mg suboxone in the morning and 4 at night, but if the pharmacy will not fill the subutex, then you may want to talk with your doctor because he may be able to help you sort out the issue with the pharmacy. On the Celexa, I have taken antidepressants before, but never really had too much luck with them, as I had some side effects that I did not like.
Avatar m tn Hi, I was on zanax for 20 yrs. I went to a physiatrist.that gave me those & antidepressants, celexa & remron. I had been taking 7 1mgs a day. He took me off of them b/c he felt I had built up a tolerance to them. He switched me to klonipin 1mg 4 times a day. I did that. I was not sick but I felt totally different. It was about a 2months before the klonopin worked for my anxiety.
Avatar m tn We are lucky if something happens once in 2 weeks. Prior to all this it was almost every night or every other night. Any advise or med advise?
Avatar n tn Had a doctors appt today and she upped my celexa to 20mg and when I told her about the Ativan she said if I couldn't take Ativan I wouldn't be able to handle other benzos....but I have to have something celexa is not enough on its own to take care of my anxiety and panic attacks .....so she decided to write me vistaril...I'm so scared of medicine...especially after reading some of the post about vistaril .
Avatar n tn Hi Ryan, Why did you write to Ellen that Klonopin could worsen her depression? I have been on Klonopin for about a month and a half and I have noticed an increase in depression (I am NOT on any anti depressants). Overall I just roll with it and try and stay positive and I started to get acupuncture along with talk therapy. This week I will see my p-doc and I'm sure all of this will come up in my visit. Do you think Klonopin causes weight gain as well?
Avatar f tn out there even though I think it is more for the shorter acting ones like ativan and especially xanax, I really think there is more of a stigma about benzos than there is for any of the other drugs. I had horrible experiences with paxil, celexa, atenolol and endured them just because I thought that in the long run, I was told, that they would make me feel better; well they didn't.
415867 tn?1323369103 Newer antidepressants don’t have the same side effect. While Paxil and Zoloft do cause some weight gain, other SSRIs, like Prozac, Celexa and Lexapro, don’t. For Paxil and Zoloft, the weight gain can add up to five to 40 pounds a year. Some people do experience weight gain with Lexapro or Celexa, but most don’t. In this case, it is not a surprise to have idiosyncratic responses, since the chemical structure of all the SSRIs is so similar.
Avatar f tn Effexor (an SNRI as mentioned above) is also a tough one to get off, compared to other ADs. Lexapro, Zoloft, Celexa and Prozac are typically the easier tolerated ADs (again, everyone is different). I personally would recommend sticking with the SSRIs vs the SNRIs for anxiety, because due to the fact that their primary mechanism of action affects norepinephrine (aka adrenaline), they are quite activating, and can cause more anxiety.
Avatar n tn Hello all, I have yet again been taken via ambulance to the emergency room due to, this time, chest pains. This is the fourth time in 7 weeks. The other three times it was due to severe dizziness and tingling in my face and hands. I also felt wobbly and off balance. I am convinced that I am suffering from MVP and I would love to hear from anyone else who has or is going through a misdiagnosis.
479244 tn?1271567259 But on the other hand, with the new drugs right around the corner and shorter duration tx, you might be better off waiting and watching carefully if you have a verified lower damage bx. This is a very important decision you have to make with your Hepatologist. Anyhow, very happy you found out about your IR. This is a very positive finding as far as you being able to clear HCV ...with combo therapy or the new triple therapy.
Avatar n tn 2) Am I better off with Paxil/Zoloft + Wellbutrin or Buspar, or is my non-reaction to Wellbutrin a sign that it wouldn't do much in combination w/ Paxil? 3) Any other drug/combo better for my condition and side effects experience?
370801 tn?1264408618 I'm a 26 y.o male. Other than my depression I am pretty healthy, in shape and make a point to exercise at least one hour to three each day. I do my daily yoga, also take 7200 mg of fish oil per day, Vit B12 liquid and a good multi - vitamin and I eat a near Macrobiotic diet. I have been diagnosed as having major depression. I went on Wellbutrin SR 200 mg per day last December and it initially did help me.
883151 tn?1245518109 My doctor put me on antidepressants but I read on the internet they're not good to take while pregnant because they can cause the baby to be slow and lazy, mentally. So I haven't been taking them. I had to see a neurologist today because of horrible migraines and he said the anti-depressant (it's celexa by the way) could help with my horrible migraines and I reallly should be taking them for my depression any way.
532417 tn?1410534049 I saw my GP today because things have gotten unbearable, and told him that since other medical tests came back normal, I could only surmise that my nerves were shot and I needed some sort of help. We discussed counselling and I have been through that. The guy was an idiot, and my choices are to see him again or...not. I chose not, because the guy has more mental problems than I do. So my Doc told me he felt I needed an antidepressant.
Avatar f tn I mean lets face it. sometimes we simply arent in the mood when the other is. If you notice you have NO NO AND I MEAN NO sex drive or you are SWEATING A TON. then I think it would be time to contact your doctor to switch meds. until then give it some more time. I am no expert on zoloft, nor a doctor. so maybe somebody on here can help you more. You'll be okay!
1503221 tn?1289588063 I went online also to look up the orgasm thing and learned that antidepressants (SSRIs) will definitely do that to a person. Now my question is, what can I take that will help my depression without taking away my sex life? My husband and I are trying to recover from a 2 year "rough patch" in our relationship and we now have a more frequent sex life, at least once a day, maybe more and it is very very frustrating to have that kind of relationship and not get everything out of it.
Avatar n tn I was on Celexa and went off because of my pregnancy. I was having really bad depression at the beginning but my doctor said the same thing about there not being enough conclusive data on long term effects. I stayed off of any meds but will start back the day the babies are born!
209384 tn?1231171906 Yes he has ADD but he takes effexor for anxiety which helps him focus better with the ADD. we had a HUGE blowout the other night. Every time he does something stupid he blames ME and my thyroid problems ...oh look Rhonda has lost her mind again and shes blaming me......our 20 yo daughter took him for a walk and tried to explain that it really is HIM being a jerk. He told me he would go back on the meds but hasnt yet. So hes been busy sucking up to me the last few days and Im not playing. ...
3867523 tn?1348953285 10 g/dL (3% vs 15%), dose modification of PEGASYS (30% vs 36%) and COPEGUS (19% vs 38%) and of withdrawal from treatment (5% vs 15%) compared to patients treated for 48 weeks with PEGASYS and 1000 mg or 1200 mg COPEGUS. On the other hand the overall incidence of adverse events appeared to be similar in the two treatment groups. The most common serious adverse event (3%) was bacterial infection (eg, sepsis, osteomyelitis, endocarditis, pyelonephritis, pneumonia).
Avatar f tn I did try Zoloft which didn't work and then effexor which was helping but I made the decision to go off and try lexapro because celexa was so helpful. I just feel horrid and I'm not sure what to do? I should have just stayed on the effexor.
Avatar n tn The problem is it is really hard to stick to a diet with that starving feeling all the time. The other thing is that I have noticed that the Celexa is not working as well as it first did. I am starting to get small panic attacks and feeling depression mostly the week before my period. I am on a low dose 10mg. (I am very sensitive to medications) My guess is when i talk to the doctor about this. He either will want to up the dose of Celexa or try me on something different.
