celexa

202436 tn?1326474333 At the time (3 years ago) my doctor said that there was a recently released study on Celexa during pregnancy and that the results were very good. I believe one of the side effects was having a low birth weight and delivering a little early. It's hard to tell if it was the meds because I had other complications and did infact deliver 4 weeks early with a 4 lb baby. He was a little jittery off and on for the first 24 hours. After that he was perfectly fine.
541196 tn?1293552936 Ok I just googled "Anti-depressants during pregnancy" and here are two addresses for you with some interesting discussion: http://www.****.*** and http://www.****.***. Hope this gives you the info you need, but I would be talking to your GP about it.
763297 tn?1281379425 s can be taken while pregnant when the benefit outweighs the risks. It is best, if possible, to avoid them during the 1st trimester though. Celexa, prozac, and Zoloft are all good, Class C medication, options. I would highly recommend you discuss this with your OBGYN before attempting to get pregnant so the best course of action can be taken. And no - you must NEVER quit antidepressants suddenly as very serious withdrawal phenomena can occur.

Avatar n tn Is Zoloft or Librium safe during pregnancy? Are there any antidepressents that are safe during pregnancy?
1450728 tn?1292192822 Since I found out, I tried taking it on a PRN basis...this was NOT helping me. My PCP put me on Celexa last week, 20mg daily. The Celexa seems to be making my anxiety worse! I cannot sleep and have panic attacks at night. My husband tries to get me to breath through the attacks, rubs my back, has me do deep breathing. Nothing seems to help! My last resort is taking a Xanax. Within about 15 minutes, I feel a lot better.
Avatar f tn However, I am aware that I can not take Celexa while trying to conceive or during pregnancy. Does anyone know what my options will be when I want to conceive? Will I have to be weened off of the medicine, and stay off of it for the full 9 months? Is there a safe alternative to Celexa that I can take? Please help.
Avatar f tn Are there ANY anxiety/depression meds that are allowed to take during pregnancy?
Avatar n tn This is not a side effect you would normally expect from that medication. There are many reasons for short-term memory problems the most prevalent being that your unconscious mind is preoccupied with something else and you aren't paying that kind of attention that you usually do. You can do something for yourself which is try to settle down within yourself, have a good conversation with yourself, and be in touch with your deeper feelings and your deeper concerns.
331213 tn?1217164831 Lexapro and Zoloft are two of the preferred options and you can breast feed while taking these, Paxil is now a Class D drug and should NOT be taken during pregnancy, and Prozac is safe to take during pregnancy BUT is expressed in breast milk and has a long half life so this is NOT recommended if you are considering breast feeding.

Avatar f tn My question is did anyone else suffer from depression during pregnancy and did you take any meds? My doctor prescribed Celexa 10mg (a VERY low dose) which she said will probably take a few days to start to kick in - arghhh - oh well have to be positive and look forward to feeling better for my own sake as well as my little one.

Avatar f tn and I decided it was time to get a good night sleep. Starting me immediately on Ativan and Celexa and weening me off of the Ativan in the first month stopped my night terrors in there place. And for the first time, my family and I noticed those little oddities of mine were gone! I was happy, carefree, and NOT TIRED! This was 5 years ago. Ive been at the same dose of Celexa for 4 years. If I forget to take it for a few days I am angry, aggitated, and yes... Have night terrors again.
958812 tn?1268764172 Visteral can be taken during pregnancy for panic attacks. It is a relatively pregnancy safe version of Xanax that is taken on an as-needed basis (it is also used to help one sleep and with allergies during pregnancy).

2693879 tn?1340045440 are there any safe medications for anixety you can take during pregnancy?
Avatar f tn Congratulaion on your baby, my baby was born one week ago.
Avatar f tn I have TS and my husband and I saw an OB who specializes in high risk pregnancies before we started to try to conceive. I take 4 mg Orap and 60 mg Celexa. On meds, my tics are very minimal or gone, and off meds, I'm a wreck. The doctor said there is very little data on pregnancy and Orap, so he just didn't know. With Celexa I think he said there can be some respiratory issues with the baby after it's born.
Avatar f tn I had a baby 8 months ago and had a very difficult pregnancy dealing with anxiety and depression. I took medication during it but was afraid every day of the effects of the medication. Once I had the baby I was like I'm going to tackle this problem once an for all. My major problem is anxiety, next is restless and agitated sleep, next is depression and maybe a little OCD.
Avatar f tn I was also on Celexa, 2 10mg pills a day for 6 months before i got pregnant, as soon as i found out i was pregnant i called my psychiatrist and she told me to go ahead and stop and see how i felt. I've felt fine since then. The best thing to do would to talk to you doctor and see if there are other prescriptions that they have that have been tested during pregnancy to help with anxiety.
Avatar f tn During my previous pregnancy I was diagnosed with Deep Vein Thrombosis and had to begin taking lovenox. During the pregnancy I also was prescribed Celexa. Our son was born with Pulmonary Atresia. I desparetly want to have a baby. Do you think this is genetic, a single freak occurence, or is this due to the medication? Please help me. I want a baby so badly.
20922415 tn?1661860103 During the reproductive years, the pituitary gland in the brain generates hormones (follicle-stimulating hormone [FSH] and luteinizing hormone [LH]) that cause a new egg to mature and be released from its ovarian follicle each month. As the follicle develops, it produces the sex hormones estrogen and progesterone, which thicken the lining of the uterus called the endometrium.
