Avatar n tn I do take Celebrex for the rib pain these last month. I were diagnosed yesterday with Cotsochondritis but do not know if it can be something else. I did started treatment 2 years ago for the stomach - Nexium 4mg (five family members died of colocancer) I also have this strange pain in my hips down my legs - it starts and then after a while it feels better but then it feels tender over the vains and the muscles. Can this be my lower back.
Avatar m tn I took Celebrex for several years for joint pain due to Crohn's. I keep having bowel obstructions so I went to a new dr. He told me to stop taking the Celebrex and start taking a tylenol everyday. I have not had any more obstructions but I do still have some joint pain.
Avatar f tn I have been prescibed Celebrex for osteoarthris pain. Can it be taken every day for long term management of arthritis.
Avatar f tn I have increased bone pain and nausea. I then have diarreah and vomiting for 2 days, but the cramping is what cripples me. I then have to wean myself back onto solids. But the most frustrating part of the whole ordeal - is when I have gone through this I feel replenished. It is as though my body is trying to rid something - a build up of acids maybe?
Avatar n tn Fosamax is safe for liver patients. Celebrex in the short term (for a couple of weeks) should not be harmful. However, it is not something he wants me on for any length of time.
370181 tn?1595629445 My mom who is also suffering from chronic pain due to a back injury she sustained from a bad fall eight years ago, was also prescribed Celebrex by a surgeon who is an expert in pain management. Well, my mom was on the Celebrex for only two days. She felt very ill on the Celebrex and went off the Celebrex by herself as it was making her symptoms worse. Yes, I've also heard that Celebrex has cardiac risks, didn't know about the g i bleeding.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone :) My Dad recently had a stroke, during which time they found occlusion in one of his legs, causing foot pain. He's currently on Oxycodone. But I'm looking for a better pain management option(s) for him. From what I've been able to ascertain, Vicodin, Celebrex, Darvo- or Percocet have seemed viable options. Can anyone share their opinions on this??? Thanks so much!
Avatar f tn Trying a new drug for pain... Celebrex. I was on Diamox but could not tolerate it as it caused severe kidney PAIN. So, my PCP wants me to try Celebrex (3 days on, 3 days off). Anyone have any experience/knowledge of this med and, if so, how did you fare with it?
Avatar f tn true, I was on celebrex for a short time and it did not work for me. I thought it was making even more edgy and did not help with my muscle & joint pain. I think just like everything else, it is different for different people. Good luck & welcome to the forum.
Avatar f tn Regular doc says I need to take celebrex for arthritis pain. I know it is a NSAID so I am scared of it. He thinks it is not a problem with hep c, but he is not a Hep C doc. What is the scoop on it? Any one taking it with Hep C?

Avatar f tn I have been taking Celebrex (200 mg a day) for about five years for bone on bone knee osteoarthritis. It has worked well for controlling my pain (not perfect but pretty good). I also get some lower back pain (combination of osteoarthritis and nerve stuff) that only happens when I over-do (like trying to garden, etc.). I typically need a day or two of Vicodin for that as the Celebrex does not seem to work for that.
517902 tn?1314715429 I have chronic back pain and have had for yrs...so far they havent found the problem but right now Im pre-menstrual and the pain is at it's worst! Do I use hot or cold packs? what else can I do? I take the dogs for a walk often but sometimes that makes it worse? Right now I take Celebrex & Ultram...yeah, not helping.
Avatar m tn The tests you need to ask for are Free T3 and Free T4, which are actual thyroid hormones and TSH which is a pituitary hormone that stimulates the thyroid to produce thyroid hormones. Many doctors will only want to order the TSH - insist on the Free T3 and Free T4, as well.
Avatar dr m tn OMG! Thank u so much! You have described exactly the kind of pain I have along with OA in my shoulders, spine, and hips. I had an MRI and the diagnosis was DDD in T11 & T12 but was not a candidate for surgery. I have been taking percocet 10/650 3 times a day but it doesn't help with all the pain I have. Like u said it is very difficult to explain the different kinds of pain. I wake up with pain from the OA & I take a pill in the A.M at noon and 1 in the evening.
Avatar m tn I started taking Celebrex two months ago and have gained 18 lbs since. I am wondering if anyone has gained weight on Celebrex? I have a sprained lumbar, lumbago syndrome with back spasms. I can't take narcotic pain meds. Any alternative to Celebrex? Naproxen does nothing for my pain.
Avatar m tn I am in a lot of back and joint pain. I am going to see my pain management doctor today. I take meloxicam for arthritis and I think I'm going to ask for a change. I have been told that Celebrex and Indomethacin is a good non narcotic combination. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
1391401 tn?1280158300 There are some ppl that swear by the effectiveness of Aleve (Naproxen), while others obtain no significant, if any pain reduction. The same can be said for Celebrex (Celecoxib). Our individuality is also wonderfuly apparent in medicationsl!
Avatar f tn That's how I was before my pain started. I never took any sort of pain med. Even when I hurt myself at work and had to get stitches, they gave me a bottle of Vicodin, and I never took it. The only time I took anything was Midol for cramps. So almost every pill I take hurts my stomach. Even now that I'm not really on any medication, if I take Tylenol or Advil, they still hurt my stomach. So you're not alone.

Avatar n tn I was on Celebrex 200 mg daily, my pain clinic dr also wants to add Cymbalta 30 mg for 7 days then 60 mg. My husband and I want to have children but are not activly trying at this point, it happens when it happens. I just want pain to stop or at least elevate more. SHould I take both together. My OB said it should be ok, My neuro dr said give it a try but pain clinic dr said don't. What should I do? I have taken it for 3 days now. I also have PCOS.
Avatar n tn I just got this diagnosed and the gave me a steroid shot in the inflammed area ...the dr also gave me a script for celebrex to keep inflammation down.....i really don't feel like taking these pills because of side effects....would it really be bad for the healing if i don't take them?
Avatar m tn I had lumbar spine fusion six weeks ago and am in PT. Still some pain so am taking 3 Ultracet tabs per 24 hours with pretty good pain relief except following 30 minutes on the treadmill and various muscle building exercises and stretches. To calm down those muscles following exercises and stretches I would like to take one 200mg Celebrex daily but one drug interaction cite suggests "Moderate" drug-drug issue involving CYP450 2D6, which means nothing to me.
Avatar f tn I have found myself buying pain pills Percocet 5/325 and Vic 10s and take 1 sometimes 2 a day. And have been for a little over a month now. However my Dr is now giving me celebrex and it isn't working and I am scared that I am building up a tolerance to pills. Should I go a week and be miserable and then try the celebrex? My body hurts so bad I can't even move some days and I have 5 kids with the youngest being 2 yrs old.
