Avatar n tn I do take Celebrex for the rib pain these last month. I were diagnosed yesterday with Cotsochondritis but do not know if it can be something else. I did started treatment 2 years ago for the stomach - Nexium 4mg (five family members died of colocancer) I also have this strange pain in my hips down my legs - it starts and then after a while it feels better but then it feels tender over the vains and the muscles. Can this be my lower back.
237152 tn?1206651036 I went to the pain clinic today for 4 bulging discs in my lower back. 3 are not so serious, but the L5-S1 disc could make me a surgery candidate if I were older, according to the pain Dr. He gave me Celebrex, Topamax?, and Norco, which I am 4 weeks clean from. I have been researching Topamax and all I can find is info. about seizures and migraines. Why would he give me this, and is it addictive? Anyone have any knowledge?
Avatar f tn ) I have just moved to a 1 floor house in FL and the pain is worse sometimes. Celebrex is not working. Knee grinds. Now the other one is doing it and my Lower back is killing me. Has been for a while but with moving thought it was from all the lifting. But husband reminded me it started before we loaded truck. Also It hurts if walking more then 20 minutes, standing in one position and also sitting. It gets so stiff and sore. I can't barely move.
1207048 tn?1282174304 My lower back and hips now hurt. When I put my leg out straight and pointed the toes up my entire leg right up to the hip/lower back hurt, like I was stretching way too far. I did not say anything about spasticity, but I have my suspicion that is what is causing most of my issues. In the morning I hobble around like I'm 95 years old! He wants me to take Celebrex. He did say I could try to take it on an "as needed" basis but I might have to take it daily.
Avatar m tn While physical therapy can help keep core muscles strong and reduce inflammation, and increase circulation to the injury, it does not guarantee healing of damaged discs. So be aware of any changes of sensation or pain in the lower back, hips, buttocks, or legs. If you experience radiating pain in the buttocks or legs, sharp pain in the lower back, or numbness or tingling in the legs or feet, seek medical attention.
Avatar n tn I have lower back and hips pain, and also my neck shoulders and both arms are also paining. My pain is more of an ache rather than an actual pain. I tood some nurofen tonight, which is ibrufen, and that actually eased the pain a good bit. I don't know what it is, it could be the flu, but if its still there after a week I will go and see about it. How about you, how long have you had it, and do you have any other symptoms? have you taken anything for it? Sunset.
Avatar f tn It has worked well for controlling my pain (not perfect but pretty good). I also get some lower back pain (combination of osteoarthritis and nerve stuff) that only happens when I over-do (like trying to garden, etc.). I typically need a day or two of Vicodin for that as the Celebrex does not seem to work for that.
Avatar m tn For example, had you have known that the heavy wallet you kept for the past 30 years in your right rear pocket couple with driving an automobile with the seat all the way back, plus adding in an extra 20 pounds around the waste is the real problem not the pain in your back. The wallet causing you to sit off center and the driving with your legs straight out forces you to pull on your lower back instead of pulling the seat closer using more of your knees than back might show you some relief.
Avatar f tn Standing up/stretching causes great pain. At times, shooting pain in front of lower leg and down sides of foot. Had Ultrasound yesterday...no blockages, no cyst, no clot. inflammation of tissues/unknown origin. This has been going on for a month now. Doctor gave me Celebrex-antianflamatory, leg exercises to stretch and recommended wrap around cold compresses. Your post was a year ago....I hope you are not still suffering-let me know. I'm counting on being normal soon!
Avatar m tn I am in a lot of back and joint pain. I am going to see my pain management doctor today. I take meloxicam for arthritis and I think I'm going to ask for a change. I have been told that Celebrex and Indomethacin is a good non narcotic combination. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.
Avatar f tn I have been on Cellcept for 5 months for multiple sclerosis. I developed generalized joint pain, lower back pain, and now have a low RBC count. I'm seeing a physical therapist and am taking Celebrex for the joint pain. This is helping. I am waiting for my latest lab tests from my primary physician. I see my neurologist next week. I was on Cytoxan before and would hate to have to return to those infusions.
Avatar f tn Trying a new drug for pain... Celebrex. I was on Diamox but could not tolerate it as it caused severe kidney PAIN. So, my PCP wants me to try Celebrex (3 days on, 3 days off). Anyone have any experience/knowledge of this med and, if so, how did you fare with it?

Avatar m tn I took Celebrex for several years for joint pain due to Crohn's. I keep having bowel obstructions so I went to a new dr. He told me to stop taking the Celebrex and start taking a tylenol everyday. I have not had any more obstructions but I do still have some joint pain.
968560 tn?1307451498 As a matter of fact 3 yrs ago I passed a kidney stone in hospital and would go so long without a pain inj that finally the nurse told me not to wait so long b4 asking for a shot. Back to my question. The last norco Rx was for 60 taps it lasted me about 2 months, but it just doesnt really help with the pain, makes my head fuzzy but pain relief isnt much better than ibuporfen 800mg.and thats not a level of relief that I can live with.
Avatar f tn I am 30 years old, and I have pain in my lower back very often. Lately it hurts really bad when I am trying to sleep, and when I get out of bed. I was diagnosed with Scoliosis (curvature of the spine) several years back. I have seen doctors for my back pain, but they don't do anything to try to help. They just tell me to take pain killers. I am afraid to go to a chiropractor, since I've heard some horror stories.
Avatar n tn I was on Celebrex 200 mg daily, my pain clinic dr also wants to add Cymbalta 30 mg for 7 days then 60 mg. My husband and I want to have children but are not activly trying at this point, it happens when it happens. I just want pain to stop or at least elevate more. SHould I take both together. My OB said it should be ok, My neuro dr said give it a try but pain clinic dr said don't. What should I do? I have taken it for 3 days now. I also have PCOS.
Avatar f tn ive had lower right side of my back pain for two days i thought i needed to go to the bathroom so i took pills to help me go finally 24 hours later i went but my back is still hurting some and it feels like ive been hit on that side it is so sore any suggestions
Avatar f tn I have been (sorta) tapering and for the last 3 days have been down to only 3 Norcos a day - so after many pain-free (but miserable otherwise) months I am finally feeling my pain coming back at different times. I was hoping it wasn't going to be like I remember, like some lucky people say has happened to them. But it's about the same. BUT....last night I tried this "thing" called an "inversion board" that my dad purchased.
521502 tn?1212136155 I suffer with degeneration of the disk disease, therefore I am used to a little discomfort from time to time, however. Five days ago the discomfort feeling turned nasty; I have increased & unbearable chronic lower back pain, shooting pain down to my ankle, I cannot stand for no longer than 5 seconds without wanting to collapse and die, I have been laying down on the floor for 5 days; from morning to afternoon and from afternoon to night, all the way to the morning, it is groundhog day.
Avatar dr m tn OMG! Thank u so much! You have described exactly the kind of pain I have along with OA in my shoulders, spine, and hips. I had an MRI and the diagnosis was DDD in T11 & T12 but was not a candidate for surgery. I have been taking percocet 10/650 3 times a day but it doesn't help with all the pain I have. Like u said it is very difficult to explain the different kinds of pain. I wake up with pain from the OA & I take a pill in the A.M at noon and 1 in the evening.
1391401 tn?1280158300 Hello Bill, nice to meet you but sorry it was chronic pain that made the introduction. What is the underlying cause of your pain? Is it a spinal problem? Any chance of surgery improving your pain? Since it's gotten so much worse, I think you may need some tests to see why it's changed so much. Depending on the cause of your pain, there are different approaches to treating it aside from medication. Many people get great relief from epidural shots for lower back pain.
370181 tn?1595629445 My mom who is also suffering from chronic pain due to a back injury she sustained from a bad fall eight years ago, was also prescribed Celebrex by a surgeon who is an expert in pain management. Well, my mom was on the Celebrex for only two days. She felt very ill on the Celebrex and went off the Celebrex by herself as it was making her symptoms worse. Yes, I've also heard that Celebrex has cardiac risks, didn't know about the g i bleeding.
