I was in a very similar situation a few days ago... except i had a sore throat the day before i performed cunnilingus, and was worried about the possibility of me having an std... anyway, went to the doctors today and he said i had a sinus infection which led to post nasal drips and that's what was causing my problems.
It is not a UTI, herpes or and STD just had my physical 6 weeks ago. It has been painfull off and on for 6 months. The first Dr. prescribed cefprozil. It didn't do anything. The second Dr. gave me an antifungal with anti-iflammatory cream. It helps slightly but everything is still extremely swollen. I am worried it might be something more serious? I have no discharge. Could it be a yeast infection, can they cause severe pain and swelling?
My son who just turned 1 years old a few weeks ago has had stye like bumps on his eye lids for almost 5 weeks now. He actually has four, one on each lid and they are pretty close to the lids. I've been using topical eye ointment and warm compress for many weeks now and they sometimes appear to be getting better, then worse again and have not yet gone away. Now his lids are pretty swollen and red and I've started giving him oral anitbiotics (Cefprozil) which are prescribed for 10 days.
Over the last five days I have developed a rash that runs from my eyelids to my lower cheeks, and appears again on my chin. On the first day I noticed itchiness I also noticed a small patch of dry skin. As the rash has become worse, my upper lip is now covered in crustrations, some of which are honey coloured. The rash has died down in itchiness but is swollen especially over my eyes.
I have been to over five doctors now and am waiting to see a dermatologist..
I've been dealing with what I thought was a sinus infection for the past week. Today was the first day I had relief from unrelenting facial pain without the need of painkillers. I was blowing out of lot of bloody mucus throughout the week, and today I blew out something from my nose that had the same feel of latex skin (link to a picture of it is provided below).
I've had a sinus infection for about 4 weeks now. After the second week I thought it had disapeared but i woke up one morning and it hit me like a truck. I feel very worn out, facial pressure, espically right under the eyes and around the nose. Within the past few days, I have not been able to breath out the left side of my nose. It feels plugged up and needing blown, but when I do blow my nose, nothing comes out.
She put me on Augmentin for 8 days for a sinus infection and said that she saw fluid behind my left eardrum. After the 8th day of pain, the augmentin did NOTHING and I went to the ER. The ER doctor was concerned about my family history and me being a smoker, and recommended a CAT scan and a spinal tap! I had both. I also insisted he do a full sinus scan. The CAT and Tap came back normal. My sinuses were a "little cloudy" on the left side.
My husband was on antibiotics for a sinus infection for over 6 months at one point until it all finally broke up. He about ripped up his nasal passages passing out old, hard junk that was like a pencil eraser.
It's all too easy to blow off a sinus infection as no big deal and try to treat it with over-the-counter meds. Those meds can work but only if it's allergies and not a true infection causing the trouble. If it's an infection, you need antibiotics. Period.
I am on my third round of anti-biotics for a sinus infection and cannot get any relief. The first round was 14 days (cannot remember name) along with a one week supply of Prednisone. The infection seemed to get better, but came back very strong 3 days after my meds were finished. My head hurt so badly that I was crying and had to use an ice pack to help ease the pain. My doctor gave me Levaquin (10 days), another 7 day supply of Prednisone, and Lortab 10mg.
Not any better - now slight cough, headache, congestion, dizzy and flushed and at night wake up all sweaty.
Hello ladies. I'm 35+4 with a sinus infection. When I went to the clinic earlier today I didn't have a fever, but now I have had a low grade temp. I took pain meds like they told me to help with the sinus pressure pain and if I get a fever and so far it is controlling it, but when will my fever be harmful to my baby? Hope everyone else is doing well!
So I went to the docs and I have a sinus infection. I feel like crap!!
I'm 38 weeks and have a bad sinus infection that hurts my ears and throat when I swallow. Anyone has this issue, & what did you do to help ease the pain?
