Avatar f tn Diet can play a role. If you fast or are on a low carb diet, bad breath can happen. Also, when we get dehydrated, our breath can be pungent. Carrots and apples help counter act this. You don't smoke do you? That's an easy one to say would be a cause. Do you have allergies?
Avatar n tn What are you eating? Are you going like really low carb? I tried the Atkins diet many years ago, and noticed I had some wierd odors. I had to give up that particular diet because going that low carb, well, I just couldn't handle it and it was making me way too irritable. Plus I couldn't stand the odor that my sweat was producing. Plus I think my breath had a wierd odor to it as well.

She put me on Synthroid lowest dosage to come back to my endo in 2 months. Now, i could have done my research BUT my question is pressing and I don't want to lose more time. Avatar f tn I just always have loose stools or diarrhea and so far changes in diet from lactose free to gluten free have not helped. Also, as of lately i have had increasingly worse stomach pains and intense fatigue. I have been going to bed earlier and earlier but have found that no amount of sleep seems to help. I'm no longer sure what i should do to help this situation or what it could be.
Avatar f tn The first diet you could try to help control your symptoms is a gluten free diet. A gluten free diet is a diet free of wheat, barley, rye and possibly oats. A gluten intolerance (which is when someone doesn't have the enzymes or not enough enzymes to break down the gluten in the above foods) can cause all of your above symptoms - PCOS, RA, hypoglycemia, etc. It's easy to look this up on the internet.
Avatar f tn At this time when I eat very little sugar, or higher carb cakes (I live gluten free life, but flours like white rice flour has high carbs, that I coud not avoid yet, but I'm working on it). So when I eat a self-baked gluten free biscuit with higher carb flours, I get this strange vibration. Like an earthquake inside me. What do you think, can this be a withdrawal symptom of sugar? I hope so, and just hope that it will go away when my body will adjust.

Pepper company makes are low carb. I got some 10 calorie gingerale its got 2 carbs. Taste a step up from diet. I drink one a day from time to time. And they have these zero calorie vitamin waters that are good and super low carb to.

The breath is very strong and makes me not want to be near her. She went to a doctor and asked them about it and they said that she may have had bronchitis to much as a kid and now has grooves or dips that food gets caught in, in her throat.

Avatar n tn Dear Sally, I have never heard of any form of insulin causing bad breath but i can see how it may because food is only partially digesting. Thirty years ago when i was diagnosed with diabetes my now ex-wife told me my breath was bad and so i was brushing and rinsing after every meal. Unfortunately i don't know much about low carb diets but they can strain the kidneys which may also help contribute. It may be something a doctor can resolve.

500923 tn?1210168927 Low carb diet - no bread - pasta - flour - limit whole grains - no sugar natural or artificial. Brown sugar Ok once in a while. Limit fruits high in sugar! Alcohol is sugar too. Limit milk products Maintain a high green veggie diet with lean "good" protein meats - hormone free! Nuts are good and yogart - I know it has milk - but it has many other supporting factors. It a tough change but you will adjust well and won't crave the other stuff after a while.

Avatar f tn If you haven't had your thyroid tested, you should have your thyroid tested. Another good one to check would be the A1C to make sure you aren't dealing with diabetes or pre-diabetes. Avatar f tn Unfortunately, it would be really difficult to do that, what with everyone having different restrictions (low sodium, low carb, low sugar, sugar free, lactose intolerance, gluten free, etc.), allergies, taste preferences, cooking skills, and the like. Perhaps visiting with a nutritionist would benefit you, so your diet can be personally tailored to you and your needs. I'm sorry we can't be of more service.
Avatar n tn I personally eat a Ketogenic diet of 20g or less net carbs a day. Most of my diet comes from meat, cheese and non-starchy vegetables. The high levels of fat in my diet help keep me satiated and promotes weight loss. I also tend to avoid artificial sweeteners as much as possible. I eat gluten free and grain free.

It must be a difficult and a bit confusing time for your family right now, dealing with your newly diagnosed diabetic child, but it's wonderful that in such a short time you have managed to gather a lot of vital information. Having diabetes or caring for someone who has it is an ongoing learning process. Just keep that in mind whenever you feel frustrated, because we all go through it.
