Can seroquel kill you

Common Questions and Answers about Can seroquel kill you

seroquel

563541 tn?1257881167 Seroquel is an anti-psychotic medication. This medication can increase your blood pressure, so if you have an issue with your bp, you should go out and get an at-home bp machine and take your bp prior to each dose of the medication. If you are just starting out on the med and you were not monitored (ie had your bp taken before each dose was given) then you should use the machine to check your bp also.
Avatar f tn Its best to understand that anything that conflicts with reality that the medication is treating is best to let go of but you can speak to your psychiatrist or a talk therapist further about that.
574118 tn?1305138884 thank you in fact this is exactly what I do. After my 2nd mania (due to an AD) which i managed to stop by 300mg, I started to reduce my dose trying to go back to 50mg (my old dose before the mania). NO success unfortunately. All i could manage is to reduce the 300 into 150mg so far. Sometimes I am on 125 by cancelling one pill (i take pills in 25mg two pills at a time 3 times) but then after a few days my anger begins so i upped it to 150 again. Sometimes I reduce it to 150-half a pill=137.
Avatar n tn Hi, I am sorry your post was over looked, it was the wee hours of the morning when you wrote this. I don't know that anyone can tell you about the combination of all 3 of those, per say but anytime you combine heavy duty medications such as those, there should be some concern. If he is starting to abuse the Klonopin then I would absolutely be concerned given his background. Did the same doctor prescribe all 3 of those medications? Is he doing any sort of group support or counseling?
1965148 tn?1354982234 I have been taking seroquel for 1-2 years.. at 1st i considered this my MAGIC PILL, however the sedation is a killer. I have suffered extreme tiredness, lethargy and sedation on many different meds in the past 8 yrs to treat my BP, including zoloft, lithium, epilim.. and i didn't notice it with the seroquel at 1st, but now i may as well be a zombie. I have just today changed my script to seroquel XR (the slow release). Can anyone tell me, is the dopiness any or much less on this?
358304 tn?1409713092 Psychiatrist told the receptionist to tell me he wanted me to take 25mg instead of 50mg. He said it can cause hallucinations. I told the receptionist "You can tell him NO THANK YOU. This is TOO MUCH." Nursegirl, I truly believe I'm going through Remeron withdrawal. It is very common. But it will pass. I got a script of Ambien tonight from my GP. 5mg. I really had high hopes with the psychiatrist... but didnt end up that way. I dont plan on taking the ambien every night.
Avatar m tn Antibiotics can make people nervous, they can have all kinds of side effects for certain people, and because they kill off beneficial bacteria that are in part responsible for normal mental health they can have this effect. But you're also on a pretty odd stew of drugs, some that are very stimulating and some that are very sedating, so I'd think adding any drug to this stew might pose complex problems.
3246041 tn?1347166017 If all else fails and unfortunatly you do not agree with the Seroquel, let your doctor know and you can stop taking it. Just keep your emotions in check and be aware of yourself and your feelings. You will not die, you will just feel like ****. Excusse the laguage there <--- but it is true. I did in the past gain SOME weight, but nothing untollerable, you just have to controll your cravings for food because it makes you want food, big time! esp. at night.
Avatar n tn Hi, I know you are struggling with this but I don't know that we can tell you more than we did the last time you wrote about this. Although it looks like he has cut back, he is still self-medicating and with sedation type drugs to boot. It's no wonder he doesn't have a sex drive. I hope this all works out for you but as long as he is taking those large doses, I don't think much is going to change.
Avatar n tn My son had Seroquel added to Zyprexa and very shortly had to be hospitalized for paranoia and delusions. You might want to research Seroquel in the combination of medications your relative is taking.
Avatar f tn I guess I disagree with some of the comments above. While Valerian Root or Passion Flower can't substitute for things like Seroquel, they can be taken in conjunction and you'll end up taking less of the anti-psychotic, or sleep medication, and feel clearer headed.
541465 tn?1219431486 The clinic should have a card that they can pass out that tells you what medications can put you into withdrawal and what can cause an overdose. I have one at home and I keep it handy. Good luck to you but my opinion would be not to take it.
358304 tn?1409713092 This kind of Therapist can really help you. They are skilled in ways other types of Therapist's are not. I wish you well.
273135 tn?1195010470 don't know what happened but it happened and i'm not going to dwell on it .. can happen to the best of us thats for sure ... you will succeed!!! you have people out here on the forum who care about you and want to see you make it .. good luck!!!
Avatar n tn I would suggest that you try to get your appointment moved up if you can, and till then take the meds as they are prescribed. Good luck!
605458 tn?1539232408 I would state that since you describe hearing voices that might be psychosis which can be another aspect of bipolar. Seroquel is antipsychotic. You could ask your psychiatrist what your diagnosis is, whether perhaps its bipolar with psychotic features. Unless you've had a bad experience with it there is no reason to avoid Lamictal. The side effect of a rare rash is extremely rare (1 in a thousand and goes down after 6 months) and not any reason to avoid it.
Avatar f tn And angry that doctors are telling you that you have Bipolar Disorder. Rather than stopping your meds, which can come back to bite you on the behind, it would be more productive to continue your meds while learning all you can about the disorder through the internet, your counselor, doctor, and this forum. Being Bipolar is not a death sentence, nor is it some flaw in your personality or character. It is a gene you have inherited and nothing more.
439168 tn?1307935340 If you want, you have the option of getting a second opinion from another psychiatrist, who is a bipolar isorder expert on the meds you are on. Ask your doctor and/or your insurance how you can get a second opinion, if you aren't satified with the answers your doctor gives you. When I got better for a lot longer I was still on a lot of meds. It was more than 5. I was on 7. The last one added on was effective enough to work on it's own.
Avatar f tn ''you just got to be ok without being ok'' a hot soak goes along way in relieving the symptoms keep posting here on the forum for support we can help get you threw this remeber no pain no gain this wont kill you it may make you wish you where dead but if you in fairly good health you will be fine good luck and God bless ,,,,,Gnarly
Avatar n tn and that is what you have to believe in - that there will be a time that you can actually get through a whole day. You will not forget and you should not forget, but the constant ache lessens some. I would not expect anything from the driver. It really is not going to help anyway, and your anger toward him may be a good thing right now - a way for you to vent some emotion. Please keep posting...people here care.
1133912 tn?1260479613 It's horrible, however they won't kill you even though you feel like you will die. -If your taking any new vitamins you could be having an allergic reaction to Niacin, as that drug killed me when my DR put me on B-Complex prior to tapering. I actually was driving and one came one and lost all feelings in my hands and head and didn't know what state I was in. It took my father 30 minutes to walk me out of it, to where I could even drive back home safely.
Avatar n tn the way i have understood anything over a 100 mg's your body stores and i have come to take that as a fact because at 250 mg i still wanted more the doctor always ask me if i was getting drowse when i ask for a increase i have never had that affect but again i have seen people on as little as 50 mg's haveing the nod's none of it really makes since each person is different so there for every one has different situations but i can say it's a mind over matter thing wilpower and prayer is your best
Avatar m tn I would also be very careful about saying things about sueing a DR. I had one who really messed me up. Then she didn't care or maybe didn't believe me. But I had the pictures from another DR. to prove it. I said something about sueing. Now I have been black ball from that entire hospital... No kidding.. No DR. that is with them will treat me... She is the reason I had to get back on the Pills. I had been clean over a year!!! SUCKS BIG TIME!!!
Avatar f tn Unforunatly most mood stabilzers can cuase weight gain but diet and exercise can take care of that. Now since you on depakote,be sure to have your thryoid tested.Depakote and lithium both destroy the thyroid and that will worsen your bi polar or give you bi polar symptoms when you never had them before. Good luvk to you.
Avatar f tn If the side effects are more than you can handle, it's time to talk to your psychiatrist about it.
Avatar m tn Its hard when it effects everything you do hey, the way you feel isnt like a sore toe that you can sit down and wait for to get better. The best advise i can give is try not to analyse too much, remember that the majority of how it feels probably isnt permanent and is caused by thinking about it too much. As gay as it sounds staying positive and giving myself that reasuring urge that most of me will is ok keeps me feeling strong. Good luck!
581210 tn?1220838380 If you notice a commonality to the allergy, great, you can avoid those things. You can even write down everything you were exposed to, close to the day you got the reaction, and figure it out. And anytime you get a runny nose, you are going to get a headache, so could be a few allergies are at the root of your migraines. Which a very good idea if you tend to get allergic, is to build up your immune system by eating well and so forth, the stuff I recommended earlier.
544292 tn?1268886268 You're in the right place if you want off the Tramadol! You can do it! I believe in you!
Avatar f tn Are you underweight or have an eating disorder? If not, ask your doctor if there's another medication that will do the same thing, without causing weight gain. If he refuses to consider anything else, you might want to look into getting a different doctor.
