broken-leg

Avatar f tn Has anyone broken their Tibia and fibia? I broke mine two years ago and am still having problems. I have a plate and eleven screws. I am thinking of having them taken out in the hopes that it will releive some of the discomfort. Any information from someone who has done this would be great.
Avatar m tn What I wanted to know is if this is normal for this type of injury and whether there are any exercises or rehab I can do to get my foot stronger quicker, so I can get back to playing faster? All opinons appreciated!
Avatar m tn However pain developed and in December x-rays revealed the stainless steel plate had broken (no incident). Two plates were then inserted ( along with 14 screws and 5 tie-wires). Rehab in the pool consists of walking straight, sideways and backwards for 20 minutes, water chest high. Now severe lower back pain, together with stiff and severe upper leg and groin pain persists. Sitting also seems to bring the pain on. I'm at a loss on what to do.
Avatar f tn Once you are able to walk short distances unassisted, it is important to regain the strength in your leg muscles with resistance exercises. You can do the early rehab exercises with light ankle weights or resistance bands, and you can ride a stationary bike at varying degrees of resistance to strengthen your muscles and work on your range of motion at the same time. Consider taking yoga or tai chi classes.
Avatar n tn Hi about a year ago while i was doing jumping jacks i pulled a muscle in my left leg now i have a pain in my inner groin, when i step a certain way or try to do any jumping exercises.
Avatar m tn and stretching for about a month, do you mean you did rehab exercises for about a month? If so, why did you stop? If not, you need to start do such again. I can recommend exercises if needed. Let me know. Also, I am assuming, with the above, that the pernous longus and brevis portion that you injured is near the ankle. Is this correct? If you haven't fully strengthened and regained your range of motion in your ankle, that could be causing the pain that you feel after your activity.
1461944 tn?1286027942 Hey, i have had 2 microdiscectomy procedures on my l5/s1 disc for a herniation causing a pinched sciatic nerve going down my right leg and the pain still is not getting better, it is over a month out of my last surgery, i am almost 17 now, my question is, is there any stretches or strengthening excercises i can do to help my sciatic nerve pain?
Avatar n tn That's a pretty broad post. Can you afford a personal trainer at a gym? That way you can tell them what you want and they can get you started. You'll only get "huge" legs if you do tons of leg resistance exercises (and if you have the genetic ability to get them without taking steroids, which is unlikely unless you have large legs to begin with).
Avatar n tn I, too, am experiencing a sudden warming sensation in the outer lower left leg. It doesn't hurt, but it is driving me crazy with worry. I'm going to see a doctor this week. This started a couple of weeks ago, not long after I started going back to the gym to work out. I also sit for long periods at work which could be a contributing factor. This discussion is related to Strange sensation of heat.
Avatar n tn I have had 24 session of rehab which included, stretching, ultrasound, ice/electo stim and exercises. My knees still hurt the same as they did before. Avatar f tn Hello, I broke my fibula/Tibia in Feb 2007. I had two surgeries and an external fixator was put in while I recovered. They put rods and screws in as well. I went through physical therapy, but to be honest didn't do my exercises at home like I should have been doing. Since that time, I have been exercising again after the doctor gave me the ok.
Avatar f tn 2 weeks ago I was hit by a car and had my leg broken, the knee socket crushed and my shoulder broken. They performed surgery on the knee about 12 days ago and are about to do surgery on the shoulder. Both are on the left side. Is there any set up I can use that will allow me to walk in any way? As I understand it I will not be able to use a crutch on my left side. Thanks!
Avatar f tn The last is the Single-Leg Deadlift, Stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart and your hands resting in front of your thighs. Lift your left leg and support your body weight on your right leg. Lower your upper body by bending over while supporting your body on your right leg. Continue bending forward on one leg until you can touch the ground with your fingertips. Your right leg should swing behind your body to act as a counterbalance to your torso bending forward.
6896476 tn?1386858324 hi, what exercises can you recommend for me to lose my fat around my thighs without gaining muscles on it and achieving a thigh gap? my thighs is around 22-24 inches each leg.
Avatar m tn About 4 weeks ago, I came down with severe cold/cough with voice loss that lasted about a week. I was first prescribed Omnicef, then it was changed to Amoxycillin, and then Zpak during the course of 7 days since the symptoms were not getting better. A couple of days before this started, I also suffered back-ache due to heavy lifting, which lasted about a week. Since the antibiotics had minimal effect, I think I had some type of viral infection.
Avatar m tn The consultant recommended a knee brace that locks at 0 degrees and 90 degrees while I undergo some physio and rehab. I have ordered a knee brace from DonJoy that is suitable, and just had my first physio session yesterday. The physio actually advised that I can move my knee through more than 90 degrees of flexion when exercising / stretching / in rehab, since I was able to do so without too much effort and no real discomfort when she was treating me.
Avatar f tn @parvosufferer Yes those are the common symptoms of brain concussion make sure you post in the neurology forum as well The fact that you can't do a proprioceptive sensory exercise means that your internal system of the brain got affected sometimes can be shock sometimes can be severe that's why is really important to check with your doctor regarding internal bleeding and so on.

Avatar m tn ) during flexion and extension. It feels like something has to pop over something else for leg to straighten. It hurts when it does. Occurs during weight-beating and non weight bearing. Therapist says muscle may be increasing in bulk but not stretching out causing other soft tissues??? to have to pop over them. Hard to walk, sleep, sit. anyone else with similar issues. when does this go away?
