1070610 tn?1279274410 I am starting hydrotherapy tomorrow with the physio . She is still concerned about leg weakness and now the right leg is showing signs of weakness. I was doing stretching and gentle strengthening exercises through the relapse so I guess they are not as weak as they could have been. I havent been to the neuro. I left a message for him to let him know I was relapsing and did he want to see me?? No reply......so I just carried on as you do and coped with it.
Avatar m tn ve been diligent with my physical therapy and I have full flexibility in the leg. I can bend the leg at the knee and I can fully extend it. I can put weight on the leg and the doctor no longer requires me to wear the surgical boot. I still need to use a cane or crutches to get around. How long does it take for the tibia fracture to fully heal, and is there anything I can do to quicken the healing process on my own other than exercises and physical therapy? Thank you.
1542537 tn?1293207098 Hi, broken bones take a varying amount of time to heal, mostly depending upon the type of bone broken, the age of the person, and the way in which the bone is broken. Larger broken bones, for example the bones in the thigh, or both bones of leg would take a great deal longer to heal, usually six weeks to three months in the average healthy adult. Begin physical therapy as soon as is practical. That will help.
Avatar f tn Has anyone broken their Tibia and fibia? I broke mine two years ago and am still having problems. I have a plate and eleven screws. I am thinking of having them taken out in the hopes that it will releive some of the discomfort. Any information from someone who has done this would be great.
Avatar f tn I dislocated my knee in April this year, went to the hospital and they popped it back in. It took from April to July for me to recover, with different knee braces and pysico. A week after getting discharged from the hospital in July, my knee dislocated again however this time it popped back in by itself, it took until September for it to be fixed. I just got discharged from physio last week (November).
Avatar n tn Tibia is the shin bone that bears most of the weight and the Fibula is the splint bone located on the outside of the lower leg. In the case of a closed fracture there may be swelling and discolouration due to the large amounts of blood that emanate from a fractured bone. The usual healing time for a mid-shaft Tibia and Fibula fracture treated with cast immobilisation is 12 to 16 weeks.
Avatar f tn He has lost almost all the muscles in his legs because he hasnt walked or even sat up in 45 days because of spinal injury and broken ribs. He is able to sit up with assistance now.. He can feel both legs all the way down to his toes but he can only flex hos leg muscles a tiny bit. I assumed it is because he is such a big guy and he has been on a feeding tibe for 45 days and has only sat up for the firat time, yesterday..he is 6'4" and so skinny now.. My question is.
Avatar n tn Hi, I had an ACL reconstruction in May this year and I am still struggling! I have a fair amount of pain on the inside of the injured knee, and find it difficult to weight bear specifically on that leg (can't even get started on a single leg squat). The OS said the knee was pretty badly damaged, and he had to repair the meniscus by shaving it and also removed a piece of the torn cartilage. Just wondering if i'm way behind on the recovery, or should i do more exercises?
Avatar m tn I have undiagnosed nervous system disorder and I get this actually but more in the groin, and down my left leg, numbness and not being able to tell if someone touches my leg or not. It certainly could be the after affects of the accident it will take a long time for all the nerves to heal, and it oculd be the results of the brain hemoraghe or just that the accident has caused some spinal cord trauma.
Avatar n tn The stroke has impacted her left side (her arm and leg). She is now in rehab. She is still has a hard time standing up. We would like to know whether she can ever walk again.
Avatar m tn Alot of times, the best healer is time, which is almost always the best thing when it comes to bones. I hope this helps. Sending you positive thoughts and prayers for a speedy and full recovery.
Avatar m tn Never exert yourself and practice this near a Physiotherapist/trainer and continue doing it yourself. These recovery exercises should be part and parcel of your time now like you have food daily. Proper diet, calcium rich food and proteins also will help while healing. Take care!
Avatar n tn That's a pretty broad post. Can you afford a personal trainer at a gym? That way you can tell them what you want and they can get you started. You'll only get "huge" legs if you do tons of leg resistance exercises (and if you have the genetic ability to get them without taking steroids, which is unlikely unless you have large legs to begin with).
Avatar m tn Hi, I meet accident 3 years before and hit my right brain. Now It affect my left body and left leg. Just ask any method can remedy faster? Just for your info, my left lower part leg can't move well. When walking, just thigh move and the left lower part leg seem like depends on it. Honestly to say, the lower part leg will very straight. I do go physiotherapy but seem the leg seem maintain like this. Just curious any method can recover it fast.
Avatar f tn The last is the Single-Leg Deadlift, Stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart and your hands resting in front of your thighs. Lift your left leg and support your body weight on your right leg. Lower your upper body by bending over while supporting your body on your right leg. Continue bending forward on one leg until you can touch the ground with your fingertips. Your right leg should swing behind your body to act as a counterbalance to your torso bending forward.
6896476 tn?1386858324 hi, what exercises can you recommend for me to lose my fat around my thighs without gaining muscles on it and achieving a thigh gap? my thighs is around 22-24 inches each leg.
Avatar f tn I'm just wondering if there are any exercises which I can do for the spasms in the outer calf muscles which also present with weakness in my leg. This came on when my sciatica back pain seems well on the way to recovery.
Avatar m tn Hi, Thank you for your question. There are variety of reasons that cause numbness in leg. Medical conditions like herniated disc, diabetes, neurological disorder, lack of blood supply due to block or circulatory disorder, raynaud's phenomenon etc. can cause numbness at one leg. Please consult a neurologist for a physical examination in order to diagnose the condition and for appropriate treatment. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I gone down the same road as you in the past 10 yrs, discectomy, 2X then after continued pain due to broken bone due to the laminectomy, I had fusion in 2007. It was a long recovery period, however artificial disk replacement is only for one level at this time. I found great pain relief from the fusion. it stablized my back to the point that i have done 5 small triathlons since then.
Avatar m tn Little by little my toes are lifting more and more although I still have a long way to go. I do some stretching, some exercises and a lots of walking every day. Few times a week I use a tens unit to get electric shocks on leg and foot like I learned when I was doing physical therapy. Lately I am having a slight pain at my herniated disk, is it a sign that things are getting unblocked?
