I broke my shattered my tib and broke my fib 6weeks ago i had a metal rod put in my leg im guessing for the tib and had 2 screws juat below my knee and 2 screws above my ankle. my question to anyone that knows is wat is the healing time for this injury? im going for my xray on 17/11/09 to c how the bone is healing and tghe hopefully i shud be able to weight bear.

s my story , i had a broken tibia and fibula as well i was trying tio help a female from getting beaten by his boyfriend , it was slippery oitside my right leg went forward and my left leg went backwards and my big ***( lol ) landed on top of my ankle and distored my ankle and broke my tibia and fibula , i went to the hospital where i stayed two nights then on monday i had to go see the bone doctor at the other hosiptal and told me that your fracture was a bad one .

and also should nt have the doctor have asked me to come in for check up x-rays just to make sure the bone is healing properly? i live in a small community was treated by a regular doctor a i think.Do u think ill need an aircast after i get regular cast off or is that just optional?

i broke my tib/fib 3 weeks ago and my consultant said im able to go back to work as my fib has healed and my tib is healing back together. ive been told that it will take another 12 weeks for the bones to be fully healed. my questtion is im still getting pain at the fracture site and im still walking with quite a heavey limp could anyone tell me how long i will have the limp and the odd nagging pain at the fracture site or will i have this for life?

I know exactly why: time of year, stress from DH's broken leg (WHY are they babying him?!), not recovering as fast & well as I had hoped, and looking at a lonely & boring Christmas.

There is no point in getting a second opinion. The xray would have showed a broken bone. Your finger would have been strapped up to the next finger to keep it straight and broken bones take about 6 weeks to mend. torn tendons take much longer. I damaged my fibrial posterial tendon (at the back of my leg) by using the treadmill at the gym. I couldn't use my let for 9 months because of the swelling and pain. As you are concerned, you should see your doctor to put your mind at ease.

Please get him in sooner than a few days. You don't want that leg to start healing, if it's broken and hasn't been set. That could run into more money, if he needs to go into surgery and they need to rebreak it. Call your vet and ask if you can post date a check.

Yesterday i took a X-ray and found the same way it was before 7 weeks, Doctor told 50% healing was done and put me a new cast to wait 4 more weeks. Is this normal healing time for fibula fracture at the end ?

Less than a week after surgery I noticed that my hair growth on that total leg has gone from extremely light to very heavy. The other leg remains unchanged. I brought this up to my doctor at a follow up today and he acted as if I was crazy and tried to say it was probably medicine related, but I have a hard time accepting that since this happened only to the leg the knee replacement was on and at the exact time of the knee replacement. Hello, On July 14th I broke my FIbia and my Medial Malleolus and received a plate and 7 pins. Since then I have gone to two follow ups with the orthopedic surgeon. Both times he said everything looked good. Right now I am in an air cast and am told to start putting graduall weight over the last few weeks until I see him on September 21st. The question I have and am worried about. When I saw him in August I received x-rays.

My Fracture was not healing . so my docter did surgery one year later, he took the nail out of my leg and replaced it with a plate and and screws, during surgery he broke my fibula to get the plate in place. i dont no why he did it but my tibia feels alot better and now my fibula is broken, my question is has anyone ever had a corrective surgery on there tibia and had there fibula broken. And how long does it take for the fib to heal and am i screwed ? i dont know what to do.

The nose end of the vehicle landed on her right lower leg, crushing the Tibia and Fracturing the Fibula. She was Med-Flighted the 40+ miles to Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children in Alabama. I would have preferred that she had been flown to UAB in Birmingham, Alabama but she was losing a lot of blood, so good thinking on behalf of the Med Flight Crew. I have not had a regular bowel ,movement in over 3 weeks. I have diahrea and even that hurts so much I cry. I am having shooting pains in my right leg. I can only stand for so llong w/out pain, and I can only sit o the doughnut for so long w/out pain. When I got my period it was hell. I felt pain moving from my sacrum to my front, was throwing up and miserable. lately, at night I get sick to my stomach and dry heave(which makes the back pain worse) and feel completly nausious.

I've had my left ankle broken on sept 29, it was a fibula frature with a tibia dislocation, was on splint for a week, had surgery on oct 7th,plate + screws + a very long screw to place my tibia on the right place, splint for another week, then my orthopedist put me on aircast Air Stirrup Universe since then. He told me to start physical therapy a week after surgery, but I waited until 2 weeks. Now my foot hurts on an area that has nothing to do with the fracture.

s leg makes this crunching feeling when you touch/move it, the vet also said she felt that but said it was not broken bones. If not broken bones then what is it? And how long should I expect it to take to be better? I know with humans it can be around 6-8 wks....is it the same with animals?

I got a tattoo on my left leg about 3 weeks ago and cared for it as instructed. After about a week the tattoo and area around it became really, really itchy and a small bump appeared. I continued to scratch and eventually the bump burst. The area around it became red and very sore. I started taking antibiotics and applying Neosporin to the scab. The area has gotten a little better but still has not completely healed and I would like information on how to get this healed and gone away.

Clean break all the way through, no displaced. I had surgery to lock the bones in place to accelerate healing. The doctor noticed my ankle was loose and said my deltoid ligament was stretched, but not completely torn. I am going for a post-op appointment on 6/30. I broke my ankle 6/10, and had surgery 6/17. Basically, they are saying that I'll need to go in a cast for 6 more weeks. That means before I can walk it will be 9 weeks from the injury date.

Pretty much getting back to normal after a year post surgery But when I visit my doctor for follow up, X-Rays still show my tibia bone still healing on broken tibia site. Doctor said this a delayed union and it should healed in time. He ask me if I'm in pain and if so he'll do bone graft and insert a bigger nail rod. But I'm in no pain other than slight discomfort and soreness when I do heavy activities.
