As with all medications, you may experience side effects when you take WELLBUTRIN XL. Side effects may be more common shortly after you start treatment. The most common side effects with WELLBUTRIN XL are weight loss, loss of appetite, dry mouth, skin rash, sweating, ringing in the ears, shakiness, stomach pain, agitation, anxiety, dizziness, trouble sleeping, muscle pain, nausea, fast heartbeat, sore throat, and urinating more often.

I have or had a bacterial infection in my stomach (gastritus) according to my endoscopy recently taken, along with a couple of small ulcers " My Dr prescribed 500 ml of flagyl and 500 ml of biaxin to be taken twice daily for 14 days I did not complete the treatment " the side effects were to extreme I did it for 11 days ..and stopped ...My question 'was " were those side effects common? Your answer is gratly appreciated.

Give it about a 7-10 days for the side effects to wear off. If you experience more side effects, especially life threatning, you will need to seek medical attention asap. Remember, always read about a medication prior to taking it or ask your physician and/or the pharmacy about the medication.

I was on it for a year with no side effects at all.

However, I was recently sick with sinus drainage and a brief sore throat, which is now gone but I went through a course of antibiotics (biaxin xl). I am now abroad, in Paris, and I have a thick white/brown coating on parts of my tongue. I am concerned that this is thrush and it is from HIV.

My doc perscribed Biaxin xl 2x 500 and prednisone 50mg 4 days if needed. Last night I was so bad I took the pred at 8pm. This morning I took the biaxin at 6am. It's been about 8 hours and my heart has sped up from about 70 to 85-90 for about an hour and won't come down. I'm afraid to take my next dose of prednisone but I've been on short bursts before with no issue. Is a resting heart rate around 90 something to be worried about?

I used both, and found that side effects are similar; tiredness, weight gain, and a slow pulse. Side effects are more pronounced as the dosage is increased. I had dosages from 25mg to 200mg. daily. Other reported effects are loss of libido, tightness in the chest, itching, irregular breathing, and irregular heartbeat. Toprol XL is a slow release medication designed to deliver dose over 24 hour time period and it takes a week or so for the blood level to stabilize to achieve effect. It shouldn't make any difference when you take it as long as it is the same time each day. Have you discussed this problem with your doctor..perhaps a lower dosage or try another beta blocker. I take 100 mg/day and don't notice any side effects, but drug response is variable.

I want to go off norpace and try ternormin again since that is the first medication I was on when this first started in 1981. I was on tambacor until after the ablation but had a lot of side effects from it. My doctor says he thinks I am okay since I have had nothing but pvc's since the ablation and then only when potassium was low or blood pressure was too high. I am very concerned about the blood pressure and my resting heart rate is 54 to 60. It is not under any control at all.

zestril (lisinopril ) has some pertty bad side effects too! - with chemical meds its a no win deal, with side effects - they all have them !! It took me aprox 4 to 5 months to ween off the toprol xl - mustangGirl0716 : did your doctor put on meds for depression and anxiety after being put on the toprol xl ? or before ?? as I came down with depression and anxiety and pannic attacks ,after I was on the stuff then was treated for it.. with other meds !

I couldn't say if I am "as bad off" as you were or not. What I can say is that for me when I herx on abx I expect certain symptoms to get overwhelmingly worse. That I will and have pushed through to get better. However adding a series of very unfortunate new side effects on top of how "bad" I already feel seems nonsensical when the abx that is causing these new symptoms has a family of other abx that I could try instead (with hopefully less horrific side effects).

I have been on wellbutrin xl for 7 days now. The side effects I have are anxiety, dizzyand , dry mouth My doctor told me to take xanax with it until the side effects go away. Any idea when that will be??? I keep trying to take wellbutrin alone to see if the side effects are going away, but I usually end up taking the xanax a few hours in because I just can't handle al the jittering and other side effects I am getting. Should I hang in there a little longer of stop taking it?

My LDL is 223 and before 222. when taking toprol XL 50-75 mg. My cholesterol is 177 when I am not on antihypertensive drugs. I have been taking 50mg of Toprol XL for a few yrs now and have not noticed any of those side effects. Please let us know what you found out!! Do you have PVC's or what kind of arrhythmias?

Hi Rebecca - I was on Celexa for about 8 months and I agree it is a good medicine. I, too, was worried about the sexual side effects of it. My doctor put me on 30 mg for about 7 days for it to build up in my system in hopes the side effects wouldn't be as bad. He then upped me to 60 mg. Definitely the sexual side effects can be frustrating especially since the med makes you feel so much better. With me the Celexa just killed my libido and had no desire for anything.

I belive your totaly right! about Toprol xl being the one beta blocker with more side effects , than others have. I will ask about Coreg (carvedilol ) as I never have tryed that one before. might work ? worth a shot ! im very aware of h.b.p and not being on something to keep it down. its just very hard to find a hmo or even ppo doctor that will work with me. and switch meds.

Well this is what's weird about it: The lesions come and go. The drug is Biaxin XL. I've taken plain Biaxin before at least twice, but not this XL formulation. I've been wondering if maybe I'm allergic to some other part of the pill that's not the drug.

Is chronic sore throat and sinus inflammation a possible side effect of Wellbutrin XL 150? My doctor has been unable to clear up this problem with antibiotics, allergy medications, decongestants, expectorants, etc and the problem started within a few days of me started WB appx 6 weeks ago. Maybe it's a coincidence, but if not are these side effects transient? Thanks!

I have been prescribed Acebutolol for PVC's and I am literally exhausted since beginning this medication but I didn't see that as one of the side effects. Also, my vision is blurred. Is this normal?

Medications come with side effects, especially at the higher doses as we are sometimes prescribed for Lyme. Does not always mean you are having a herx!!!

I also take Paxil for a sleep disorder (depression-related insomnia) and have for 11+ years. It works wonderously, but I gained 30+ lbs when I started the medication and have tried for years to lose it, unsuccessfully. I will lose some weight - and believe me, it takes an enormous amount of exercise and effort - but inevitably gain it back because Paxil makes my appetite so strong.

I didn't take Effexor XL, but I did take Effexor XR. I experienced side effects while I was on it and withdrawal symptoms that lasted for 6 months. My side effects/withdrawal symptoms included: brain zaps, extreme sweating, dizziness, dry mouth, fatigue, major headaches, nervousness, vertigo, and confusion. When I started taking it, I lost 20 pounds in 2 weeks! I was wanting to lose weight, but in a healthy way. My advice to you is get off of it asap.

s (flutters) I get after I eat. After reading the possible side effects, I am a little leary. Does anyone have any advice? Does anyone know what the common side effects are?

I started the Wellbutrin XL 150mg about 2 weeks ago. No side effects, or positive effects - really, no effect at all. I just went up to the 300mg (it's been 2 days), and I want to make sure my side effects are normal. I have a call into my doctor as well. I have had a dull, constant headache. A little light-headed if I get up too quickly. Haven't been sleeping well, but that's not too bad. The worst symption I'm having is lower back pain...

allmy dr told me was that certin quinolones do give false positives. my med was biaxin xl 500mg. but that was all he would tell me. he seemed to be really busy. now i need to find out if that is one of the 13 quinolones. if you can assist me further please do so. or advize me where to search. thanks .
