I have or had a bacterial infection in my stomach (gastritus) according to my endoscopy recently taken, along with a couple of small ulcers " My Dr prescribed 500 ml of flagyl and 500 ml of biaxin to be taken twice daily for 14 days I did not complete the treatment " the side effects were to extreme I did it for 11 days ..and stopped ...My question 'was " were those side effects common? Your answer is gratly appreciated.

Give it about a 7-10 days for the side effects to wear off. If you experience more side effects, especially life threatning, you will need to seek medical attention asap. Remember, always read about a medication prior to taking it or ask your physician and/or the pharmacy about the medication.

I couldn't say if I am "as bad off" as you were or not. What I can say is that for me when I herx on abx I expect certain symptoms to get overwhelmingly worse. That I will and have pushed through to get better. However adding a series of very unfortunate new side effects on top of how "bad" I already feel seems nonsensical when the abx that is causing these new symptoms has a family of other abx that I could try instead (with hopefully less horrific side effects).

Losartan is not known to have many side effects. I've been taking it for a few months with no problems. Have you had any other medication changes? Do you take any statins for cholesterol issues?

What has been the most noticed side effects of Olysio/Sovaldi combo? Today is my first dose.

Medications come with side effects, especially at the higher doses as we are sometimes prescribed for Lyme. Does not always mean you are having a herx!!!

I have been on Sovaldi, Olysio and Riboviron for 4 weeks. I am finding that I feel very poorly with a laundry list of noxious symptoms. I feel very alone since my docs said that the side effect profile would be very tolerable. Many years ago I was on interferon and riboviron but could not tolerate the tx. I don't know if it is the roboviron that is causing the side effects. At this point I am pretty much bed-ridden. Is there anyone out there with a similar experience?

Sometimes, dividing the dose into several doses throughout the day may help. Also taking the smallest dose you can take is best to avoid the side effects. Initially, many people have side effects, but after your body gets used to the med. it goes away (usually after a week or 2).

Depending on the dose/strength its duration is 12-24 hours... its Pregnancy category is C which means "animal studies have shown an adverse effect and there are no adequate and well controlled studies in pregnant woman OR No animal studies have been conducted and there are no adequate or well known studies in pregnant woman"... so pretty much the effects really are not known or there have been effects shown but not much has been looked into it...

ve been suffering some mild insomnia, excess sweating, but perhaps most off putting is the lack of libido and sexual response!! I realise these are listed side effects, but will these resolve themselves or are they something I'm simply stuck with if I chose to continue with the medication? I'm finding the medication helpful, and I want to continue, but the last side effect in particular is concerning for me as my husbands "love language" is physical intimacy.

t answer other that to say do a search here and/or on the web for side effects of omepraole. If that is a possible side effect discuss with your prescribing doctor you may be able to get help from some other medication.

The Dr then gave me Levaquin, took for 7 days, with the same side effects.

Hmmm, not everyone's side effects will be the same. In fact, you may not really have any side effects that you notice. My side effects were: racing heart - I lost about 5 lbs in 3 days. skin sensitive to the touch. feeling like I was beat up with a baseball bat on my back. shaking. and feeling like my achilles tendon was going to rip off. I immediately started to gain weight. And stopped the Seroquel immediately (mid Dec). I know this is one of the side effects. I gained about 5lbs. Being 5'9" and weighing 135, I felt the 5 extra pounds would come off with eating better and a few more yoga classes . But the weight kept coming. I got down to a dietary intake of about 1000 cals. I was suffering from severe insomnia last month. I tried sleeping pills (Rhovane/Immovane, Benzodiazapine) and they were baaaddddd. Extremely addictive with anxiety and agitation during the day. I was given Plaquenil. And of course, I always research any medication before I take it. I seen all of the visual warnings of it possibly causing irreversible eye damage. I wasn't too concerned until I seen that someone had to sign a waiver acknowledging these side effects. I didn't have to sign a waiver, nor was I warned of these possible side effects. I take melatonin, not nightly, but maybe two or three or four nights a week. I have tried to read up on side effects and have not found much information at all. I don't notice any side effects, myself. Since melatonin is a short-acting drug, and the therapeutic effects of it do not seem to last long at all, I'm thinking that any side effects would not last longer than a few hours or a day or two -- at most -- after you discontinued using it.

Hi andream5, my husband is finishing week 16 today, so he completed incivek about 4 weeks ago. I would say his side effects since finishing incivek include itching (no rash), fatigue, some weakness/shortness of breath, fatigue, dry mouth/metallic taste in mouth, and insomnia. I think that the symptoms he is experiencing right now (post incivek) are very similar/identical to the side effects he had with previous two treatments. For the itching, he takes Atavan.
