biaxin

Avatar f tn I have or had a bacterial infection in my stomach (gastritus) according to my endoscopy recently taken, along with a couple of small ulcers " My Dr prescribed 500 ml of flagyl and 500 ml of biaxin to be taken twice daily for 14 days I did not complete the treatment " the side effects were to extreme I did it for 11 days ..and stopped ...My question 'was " were those side effects common? Your answer is gratly appreciated.
Avatar f tn Give it about a 7-10 days for the side effects to wear off. If you experience more side effects, especially life threatning, you will need to seek medical attention asap. Remember, always read about a medication prior to taking it or ask your physician and/or the pharmacy about the medication.
Avatar f tn I was on it for a year with no side effects at all.
4939681 tn?1361299299 I couldn't say if I am "as bad off" as you were or not. What I can say is that for me when I herx on abx I expect certain symptoms to get overwhelmingly worse. That I will and have pushed through to get better. However adding a series of very unfortunate new side effects on top of how "bad" I already feel seems nonsensical when the abx that is causing these new symptoms has a family of other abx that I could try instead (with hopefully less horrific side effects).
Avatar f tn Medications come with side effects, especially at the higher doses as we are sometimes prescribed for Lyme. Does not always mean you are having a herx!!!
Avatar n tn Depending on the dose/strength its duration is 12-24 hours... its Pregnancy category is C which means "animal studies have shown an adverse effect and there are no adequate and well controlled studies in pregnant woman OR No animal studies have been conducted and there are no adequate or well known studies in pregnant woman"... so pretty much the effects really are not known or there have been effects shown but not much has been looked into it...
Avatar f tn There is always a risk for side effects, interactions or allergic reactions, so please make sure both meds are suitable for you by asking a physician.
Avatar f tn I do not have a lyme dx but I am working with my neurologist on it...I am also looking for an LLMD in my area. I am sure that I will have no trouble finding one near Philadelphia. I have a question about antibiotics. Since 2001, I have what I thought was an allergy to Cipro. Took it for an upper respitory infection for 3 days and had terrible problems. The Dr then gave me Levaquin, took for 7 days, with the same side effects.
4451049 tn?1387153437 I could be looking at rare side effects, and wala.. I get more of the rare side effects than the common ones, I think... I don't like to pester the doctor all of the time, especially with these "rare" side effects.. I don't mind dealing with side effects as long as they are not permanent! There are some medications that can cause permanent damage, to the eye for example..
4451049 tn?1387153437 I was given Plaquenil. And of course, I always research any medication before I take it. I seen all of the visual warnings of it possibly causing irreversible eye damage. I wasn't too concerned until I seen that someone had to sign a waiver acknowledging these side effects. I didn't have to sign a waiver, nor was I warned of these possible side effects. Not typically the concerned type but irreversible eye damage?
Avatar f tn I was so glad to stop, as the chronic bitter taste in my mouth and the dark tongue went away. Well, now that I have cycled back on, both side effects are back. Yuck.
Avatar f tn does keep me away from any of those that are known to have those side effects, so it must be the formula in how the drug is made.
Avatar m tn t see the urination/constipation problem on the warnings/ side effects/ overdose section of the Benadryl box. Thanks so much for the insight it's really helped. I'll keep you posted.
Avatar m tn I just want to avoid the possibility of C.Diff. or any other problems pertaining to side effects of the antibiotics.
Avatar m tn m not sure if Zofran is used in children but you could ask. Tetrabenzene is used but that has some serious side effects so that might not be for children either. But there are other medications as well. Clonidine in patch form (Catapres) is especially helpful for tic like motions (tardive tourreticism which is a variant of tardive dyskinesia I have as well). I am on Tenex which is helpful as well. I believe both of those are used in children.
Avatar f tn I'm more worried about the hair thinning right now. I've seen posts about people thinking their hair thinning is a result of the medication. The side effects I've found is a long list and hair thinning has been mentioned. I'm scared to death and beginning to panic about it.
Avatar f tn It reduces the inflammation and thins the mucus. It is useful in both infectious and non-infectious bronchitis. No side effects.
281209 tn?1209385426 I had a TT for papillary carcinoma in 7/07. I had a 30% uptake in my thyroid scan and they gave me 21mCi I-131 to bring down the dose. I just received my second dose (220mCi) last week, and expected nominal side effects. I've felt terrible since then. Loss of taste, overall nausea, etc. Anyone else go through this? My docs didn't mention anything about side effects (besides the normal salivary glands swelling). How long should I expect to feel this way?
