I don't know anything about your gf, but I know when I went through major surgery I pushed a lot of people away. My thought process on it was that I didn't want to cause them pain to have to see and deal with me when I had to go through with it all. Which is pretty stupid, but that was the idea I had. Maybe she could be in that mind frame, so giving her some time can help. After the ordeal is over things can go back to how it was before.
I have tried and failed at a couple of long distant relationships in college. It may work to begin with but chances are with the distance it is going to be tough. Not saying it can not work or will not work but it is tough. You will have friends and she will have friends and you will be doing different things at different times. And the last thing either wants to do is cheat.
So I think this is something where you and her should sit down and have a nice long talk about.

So I broke up with my boyfriend after a somewhat rocky seven year relationship. The guy didnt treat me great. I often heard (mostly in rocky times) "your a ****** joke" and well he could yell for hours. Just couldnt calm down. There were lost of trust issues, compatibility issues but we were crazy about each other. We had so much history. So I persevered through the years with a positive outlook that has caused me palpitations and constant anxiety about the future.
Of let her how much you care and how much you admire her (for everything, not just looks). The best way to offer help (to anyone, actually) is to say "how can I help?" To never presume you know what is best, but to ask her what she needs from you. And if she talks about getting help, to reassure her that is a good idea and it will make her life so much better.
Oh, it is so hard. Remember, that we all make mistakes and sometimes we learn our best lessons that way. It really can be what makes us wiser. That along with great loss and I do hope that your mistake does not lead to a loss of your bf.
Is there any way that you could start couple's therapy? It would be excellent to have a professional guide you through recovery from the infidelity. Sometimes churches offer counseling--------- and as you are considering marriage . . .
My girlfriend of 4 months has had herpes for 7 years, with her only outbreak occurring when she was diagnosed at the age of 15. We've had unprotected sex and I've tested negative for HSV 2 twice, but I no longer want to risk getting herpes myself and I think I'm going to break up with her. I know I'd be losing a great girl, but I do NOT want to have herpes for the rest of my life.

So, he told me to leave him at Best Buy and he would call someone to pick him up. I went to the car and waited for him to come to his senses and come outside. When he did, an argument ensued. We fought the whole was home about how I am a "*****" about certain things in my life. I started to cry and he told me to be stronger and toughen up. Things escalated over this pointless argument. Eventually he made a comment about how I have herpes due to an ex boyfriend.
They were supposedly broken up but then got back to together while him and I were talking. When I found out, I broke up with him. No way was I going to lower myself to being the other woman when I know I deserved better. Second, he isn't saying he is going to break up with her. Obviously he's lying, both to you and to her. I never believe a man who is cheating on his live in partner when they say they are just roommates.

I'm currently in a relationship with a girl that I truely love. The thing is, that she is almost 18 and suffering from a depression and she as many of you would guess, is having a hard time of her life.
She have been taking getting meds and gotten professional help against it for alittle more than a moth.
But here comes the problem.
So i posted a little while ago, about having a boyfriend who talks down to me constantly. Well I finaly got up the courage and broke up with him. I tried to act like an adult, and not put the blame on him for anything in particular. I just told him I wasnt happy, and i think its because we dont see things the same way anymore. He yelled a bunch and told me he never wanted to hear from me again. Which I suppose is for the best. I just need some advice on moving on, some inpsirational words.
You and your girlfriend..Please try to get to some of those meetings AA/NA..This is a Disease and it can take everything from you and even your Life. You have to change your whole world around you.
