Avatar n tn Two and a half years after multiple heart attacks and subsequent open heart surgery (triple by-pass + defib implant), I am still declining on Muga tests -- now at 24. This isn't very positive news for a 51 year old with no previous or current risk factors.
Avatar n tn I dont really feel to bad except for being easily tired out. I take Verelan 240 mgs twice a day for the rate and high blood pressure, also take a half of a Avapro 150mg at bedtime. My question is this, is this something that needs to be checked into more or should I just accept the fact thats its probably something i was born with, an electrical disturbance, and let it go? Does a rapid heartbeat wear the heart out faster?
Avatar m tn Remember that it will be in your system for 6 months after your last pill. A very long half life and the Riba is what impacts our HGB. Just a thought. Check with your doctor. Sure hope you get to feeling a lot better real quick. That lost injection is a great feeling!
Avatar n tn Last week she had a follow up with family dr for blood work, and while there she had an ECG. She had taken her atenolol on empty stomach an hour and half prior to this--she usually takes with food, and did not know the ECG would be done. Her results were a beat of 46, and her doctor has her off the atenolol as he is concerned with her resting beat. She usually takes her pulse every day, first thing in the morning and throught out the day ,and it varies from 53-60.
Avatar n tn I called my doc up and he prescribed me not Losartan but valsartan, which is a similar drug. He put me on a very light dose (80 mg/day), about half of what someone my body size would be taking in Dr. Dietz' study on adolescents this fall. Fast forward 6 months - I had my follow-up echo last Monday. Thank the Lord - no growth. All my numbers were "identical to last time," according to my cardio. That is unusual because my aorta had been growing up until then.
Avatar f tn 50mg a day ( cut in half twice a day.) Also I take avapro 150mg daily. Also I take synthroid .112mg. Atenolol does nothing for me but slow my heart down. I have been plagued with heart skips for 20 years. Been through every test possible, and tried everything possible. Nothing works. I know I can't continue this way. It is leaving me paralyzed with fear. Any suggestions? Do you think I could wean myself off of the atenolol? I have been taking it for many years.
Avatar n tn they put me on a htz ( I think that was it is called--- a type of water reduction pill- it stayed about 150 over 105; I was then put on a Avapro (150mg) and said perhaps I was having panic attacks. At the time it was 210/170 I was working in the yard... fine.. nothing; just lots of energy and came in and laid down and could hear my heart beat; I had had some borderline issues a few years earlier with a couple of " you'd better watch your BP .. it is moving up ( 139/89).
Avatar f tn I see you just started another thread and while it's usually best to keep all your questions in one thread so we don't keep asking for the same information from you, I'll go ahead and respond to this question, because it's one that's near and dear to my heart... lol I never had a weight issue in my entire life until 2008 when my thyroid started whacking out and I literally gained 30 lbs in less than 3 months... I nearly freaked out!!
Avatar n tn Hello there!!! I must say i have read, many articles sent by the forums users, and it has helped me through many troubled times!!! 4 & half years ago i was at work, and experianced a fluttering effect in my chest area, this totally freaked me out!!
Avatar f tn I just wanted to say, dont let PVC's ruin your life,, Im 43 and enjoy life to the fullest, I do an hour of cardio workout 5 days a week and weights 3 times a week. Yes my heart ALWAYS feels like a fish out of water (its the best way I can explain it) but once you except the feelings in your chest you can move beyond it...
Avatar n tn 50 mg atenolol twice a day, plus avapro for blood pressure 150mg. Now I'm down 25mg twice a day. Still get bigeminys like crazy. I would have an ablation, but too many people don't get help from them either, besides they are dangerous. Take care all.
Avatar n tn (woman's intuition) He lost the bet. It showed regional wall abnormality specifically in the distal half of the interventricular septum and the apex are severely hypokinetic/akinetic. Viability/scar imaging reveals transmural/near transmural scar in the distal half of the septum as well as in the apex. Also, there is dynamic LVOT gradient due to SAM. I was told this area could not be stented or by-passed as the vessels are too small due to being a female.
Avatar n tn I'm 47, male, 6', 160 lbs, and athletic. I'm on 50 mg of Lopressor and 150 mg of Avapro (ARB) daily. My BP is under 100/70. My surgeon and cardiologist have no issues with my exercise level since my surgery. I do not lift heavy weights, but I bicycle fairly intensely. I ride an average of 7+ hours per week (~140 miles) at a high exertion level, including significant climbing.
Avatar n tn My current diet is low-fat/high fiber, daily meds are 75 mg Metoprolol/150 mg Avapro/81 mg Asprin/Multivitamin/Fish Oil, and I average about 5-7 hours weekly of high intensity aerobic exercise (road cycling).
61536 tn?1340701763 No, because I could have HALF the usual combination and I feel this way, or the entire puzzle and have no symptoms at all. It seems a few of us developed atrial arrhythmias after having children. Clearly, this isn't limited to people who have cardiovascular problems in pregnancy (PPCM, pre-eclampsia, etc.), in fact I think most of the women who develop palpitations afterward have otherwise very normal hearts. So what is it about pregnancy that does it? Hormones?
Avatar f tn I'm at wits end and want to resolve the issues and not take narcotics but pain is too bad. Any ideas? The pain has taken over my entire life - more bad days than good. Without meds, I could not survive - too severe - pain is around my chest mostly in the middle of my body around ribs - straight through to my back. It oftens feels like someone is squeezing me. Initially I did think I was having a heart attack but nothing showed on the heart tests. Nothing has shown on MRI, CT Scan, Xray, etc.
Avatar n tn Do you have to take BP drugs or any other drugs after aortic surgery for the rest of life or you had abnormal BP before surgery? If aortic dilatition can be caused by many different things, like abnormal BP,marfans, various infections, old injuries, etc how can person know what caused aortic dilatation before surgery? Is there blood test for marfans? If yes what's the name of test or tests?Thank you.
Avatar n tn I really sympathise with you Ingrid and I can relate to a lot of your frustration you are experiencing. Ive had a heart problem for 2.5 years now which is a racing heart of up to 200 or more just when it feels like it and I get a burning or cold feeling in my stomach or chest and feel really scared because 1.You dont know why its happening and 2.Every time you see a doctor they just say "dont worry its not life threatening" or whatever.
179332 tn?1273250959 I am down to 75, with tinnitus caused by this med. I cannot live with this tinnitus, would rather have a quality life, albeit shorter. I shall just have to risk having BP , nothing else I can do. My internist was a pharmacist, so he knows the meds, and my reactions. Would love to talk more about this.
Avatar f tn of atenolol in the A.M., 150 mg. of avapro in the afternoon, and I cut myself down to 25 mg of atenolol in the evening, instead of 50 mg. My cardiologist thinks this is fine. I have stopped smoking, and everthing else they recommend. I know they claim is it not from the stomach, but I do have the gastro problem according to upper GI series. I burp sour after these are done. Any suggestion to get my life back to normal. Thank you for your interest.
Avatar n tn I was hesitating to take 300mg Avapro(BP medicine) I took 22 unit of Levimir at bed time. At 4am, I woke up. measure the pressure , it was 165/100. I took 150gm Avapro. My sugar was 8.1mmol. I got up from bed, sit down quietly for 10 minutes. BP became OK. I went to bed again, and got up at 6. BG was 9.4. I want to bring morning sugar to 6or 7.
Avatar n tn I've been going through it with digestion & AFib episodes. I'm scheduled to have an Ablation Procedure 12/22/2009 but I'm apprehensive because I keep thinking what if it's a digestive issue. I now have a scar on my heart which is normal from the EcoCardiogram I had done in August. I have never been a big soda drinker.
