Avatar f tn i also have little bumps on the back sides of my tongue again do not bother me at all. Also little bumps on the top of my tongue the whole tongue that do not bother me. (i think they are just raised taste buds) I just noticed all these when me and my friends talked about oral herpes. Is this a sign of oral herpes or another STD. I looked at the pictures and nothing looks like it but they are there constantly.
469423 tn?1207513295 Morning, This is going to be a hard one for me to tell you, but I am only reflecting on my situation and everyone is different. I started with the "white tongue" no pain- but my tongue looked weird. I commented to my family all the time. Then the bumps started- then acid then the "burning" I hate to say, but I dealt with that for 2 years with our medical help. No one could help me. Then that is when I started checking on how I could get rid of it.
Avatar m tn hi i have bumps that are the same color as my tongue mabey a little lighter. I went to the doctor about a week after these bumps came up, or since i noticed them. Before that i had a cold for about 3 weeks which has never happened. My doctor prescribed me a antibiotic but it did not work and i do not have any form of insurance. Before and after the antiibiotics i have had severe stomach pains also. thank you for all coments and help in advance.
Avatar f tn The bumps can be normal. Many people just don't notice them. Are you seeing a white coating or anything like that? I'm asking because if you do, it might be a yeast buildup. Use a tongue scraper, not your toothbrush but a real tongue scraper because that will keep your tongue very clean. They have these right by the toothbrushes. You may want to see your Dr or dentist to see if this may indeed be a yeast build up. If it is they can give you a rinse for it.
Avatar n tn I have noticed a few bumps on the back of my tongue, they r not painful at all. I brushed my tongue to see if they would hurt or bleed and had no signs at all. What could they be?
1015881 tn?1251158160 It has now been a little over a year since I've had maybe 4-6 pink medium sized bumps on the back of my tongue. When I open my mouth wider, I can see all the way down to the WAY back of my throat tiny bumps all over. And I'm really scared. I noticed these bumps, a year ago and a couple days before I had unprotected intercourse, anal, and oral sex with someone. I'm not sure if that caused it or not, because I don't have any of these bumps on my vagina, or my anus.
Avatar n tn i am now on day 9 of itraconazole. it looks like the bumps on the base of my tongue are back and the white rings are starting to spread down the lateral edge of my tongue again. i will take my 10th and final dose of itraconazole tomorrow. I have another 10 day course of fluconazole that i will try to take after this to see if i can finally beat this thing. my diet is limited to only grilled lean meat and green veggies. I have a diabetic friend, he lets me test my sugar from time to time.
Avatar n tn But the other day I noticed for the first time on my tongue, these bumps on the back, I didn't notice any in my throat or on the roof of my mouth. There are different ones. Like the ones in the middle just look like little ones and the ones in the back are big, I took some pictures, I hope they will help. I have a pic in the other bulletin below Picture: http://s98.photobucket.com/albums/l273/maleficentmoon/?
469423 tn?1207513295 This is so overwhemingly common - yet no doctor will put this puzzle together - at least in my luck. After digging for 5 years - I strongly believe this is a side effect of thyroid medications. I lean towards this bieng an imbalance on PH levels within the body with some individuals. HAve you had any discomfort within the tongue itself? Burning - swolleness of anything you can describe? Do you notice dry throat and thirst? Did you undergo RAI treatment after the TT?
Avatar n tn Hey, After looking at a few more images on the internet i also believe that they are filiform papillae... Ive been looking for why they have appeared etc and what to do to get rid of them but cant find any information (Sometimes the internet just doesnt have what you want :P) I was wondering if you knew why they have appeared (They mave have been there all along but ive only just noticed them) and if theres anyway to get rid of them?
Avatar f tn I have this white coating on my tongue for the most of my life. I have been to the doctor for other things and I know they saw my tongue but they never said anything to me about it, neither did the dentists. I don't know what it is but I'll be sure to ask the doctor again about it, if he can't tell me then I'm going to another doctor.
Avatar f tn this sounds like a normal tongue. if you are concerned, see your provider.
Avatar f tn I noticed a cluster of bumps on the very back of my tongue. I only see them when i stick my tongue out very far. They are behind the "v" of papillae and just above the epiglottis (the thing that closes over the trachea. i dont know if thats the right term). Any ways, they dont hurt at all, but i just noticed them recently.... Anyone know what these are?
Avatar n tn It felt like a popcorn husk stuck on the back of my tongue and when I looked I found the bumps. Just like you, a couple on one side and about twice as many on the other. No pain, they don't look ulcerated, just bumps. Also, like you, when I researched on the internet, it just scares you what you find. I'd love to hear what you found out about your's and if they have cleared up.
Avatar n tn At first I thought it was just a blister, but when I looked in the mirror this morning, I found multiple bumps of all different sizes covering the back of my tongue. I know for a fact that I have never had any bumps like this before. What are all the possibilitys of what this could be, where it came from, and how it could be taken care of?
Avatar m tn I have small red bumps all over my tongue. i think they are from when i burnt my tongue but ive never noticed bumps before when i had burnt my tongue. the bumps dont hurt but it looks gross and i want to make sure this is normal.
Avatar n tn This morning, however, I woke up and i could still feel it and I tried to just scrape it with my toothbrush but it was still there so I got a flash light and saw that I have mulitple bumps all over my tongue and on my throat. They are lighter than my normal color in my throat. On my tongue they are kind of blisterish looking. I'm just wondering how I could have gotten this? I'm pretty sure i've never had it before.
Avatar n tn i started noticing pale pink bumps on the back of my tongue, the color is lighter than my tounge. they so not hurt at all, i do not even know they are there. Should i be worried. My father does not want me to go to a doctor, because he does not want me to take medication, should i go anyway?
Avatar n tn If these red bumps are circumvallate papilla, they are normal anatomy and won't disappear.Sore throat has nothing to do with the presence of circumvallate papilla. Seeing an ENT to find out your throat problem is advised.
Avatar n tn it is now 38 days since i had sex last time, i have little sore in my throat and today i noticed small bumps deep on my tongue almost near to my throat, some how it looks symmetric bumps, also i feel like there is white sticky liquid on my tongue unless i drink something , it started to bother me and i keep checking it in the mirror, i have tested HIV Antibody two times now , one after 17 days and one after 34 days and both are negative and my CRP was 3 which is in the normal range.
Avatar f tn [not that i think that has anything to do with these bumps] I havent told him yet, because I thought it would go away. We also had intercourse and anal sex. And i've checked and there are no bumps there. I also have a fever, i had it for a couple of days and i've been coughing. I took theraflu for it, and it's going away. I get sick very fast like once a month so i don't know if it's related to this or not.
Avatar n tn and now one has appeared on the top of my tongue. they are irritating, and when touched, they hurt a little. I don't know what to do, because i have no health insurance or money for health insurance.
Avatar n tn I have these weird, raised, and various sized bumps on my tongue towards the back and on both sides of my tongue, on the lower half. My tongue feels swollen on both lower sides of my tongue towards the bottom... It is somewhat painful... Just very irritating. Please, someone tell me what is wrong!! I am a very paranoid person in nature and the slightest oddity of my body stresses me out. All I can say for sure is that these bumps are not normal and werent there in the past.
Avatar n tn Howdy- Well, I went to our local health clinic this morning and saw a lovely doctor who drew blood and did a culture of my tongue. She also didn't think it was anything to worry about, but wanted me to be sure. However, she did say she would do both and IGG test and an IGM test, which I hear (from these boards) is utterly useless and may give a false positive? Should I cancel the IGM test, or at least see what happens? What are the chances of false positive? Thanks!
