How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time... my question is can i take my antihistamine?

Here's one for the books. My daughter has had a allergic reaction to an oral antihistamine she took for what appeared to be hives just below the right side of her derriere. This little bout of hives were taking their time going away and so she thought by taking the antihistamine it would help the process.

I was diagnosed with reactive arthritis at age of 17. Today I am 32, and some months ago I adopted a cat from the streets. When he started sleeping in my room, I had to triple my anti-inflammatory dose for some reason. As if that wasn't strange enough, after I took an antihistamine to control my allergy to the cat, when I woke up the next day my pain was DRASTICALLY increased. It can be even easier than that. You could alway ask your doc to try free samples of Nasal Sprays for rhinitis, sinusitis. If it works than you know what it is. Then you need to figure out why it happens like if it is allergy or sinusitis and treat it more specifically if you want to. Once way to rule in allergy is antihistamine like Benedryl. If you take an antihistamine and it stops it's more likely rhinitis.
Try steam inhalation, saline nasal drops, breathing exercises, and oral antihistamine medications and see if they help.

It does sound like allergies to me. Try an antihistamine such as Zyrtec, Claritin, Allegra, or Chlor-Trimeton. You can try Benedryl but it tends to cause drowsiness more than the others I mentioned.
Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene .

thanks for the reply, yes i googled that before messaging and the only one it shows is Seldane, because of the problem with this antihistamine and that it had been taking off the market (not a newer antihistamine), i wanted to know of any other antihistamines?

ve been having false eyelashes for about a year , but the last time I had them I reacted to them almost immediately- swollen bottom eyelids and red , I saw gp who said i needed them off and gave me an antihistamine, any way since then I have been suffering intermittent swollen bottom eyelids ( mainly my right eye) , it will be ok for maybe a week and then just randomly swell again , if I take an antihistamine quickly the swelling goes down again for maybe a week ?? Any ideas ?
They knock me out for extended periods of time, by making me lethargic, and extremely drowsy and sluggish. I used an antihistamine eye drop yesterday, and, shortly, had all the above symptoms. My question is simply, can one's system absorb antihistamines through the use of antihistamine eye drops?
