Avatar f tn My doctor always told me only regular Tylenol unless he prescribes something to me. Is no Tylenol sinus or Tylenol cold & flu or anything like that.
387294 tn?1207620185 The active ingredients in Tylenol PM are acetaminophen and diphenhydramine; the diphenhydramine is an antihistamine and can be purchased separately (and generically) as a sleep aid from Wal-mart or Walgreen’s very inexpensively; ask the pharmacist to find it for you in the OTC section. Best of luck to you as you finish up your treatment, and stop in and let us know how things went.
Avatar f tn Here's one for the books. My daughter has had a allergic reaction to an oral antihistamine she took for what appeared to be hives just below the right side of her derriere. This little bout of hives were taking their time going away and so she thought by taking the antihistamine it would help the process.
Avatar f tn Been taking half a pill of tylenol pm for 6 months. Or 3.5 pills a week. Half every night. What will withdrawals be?
Avatar n tn How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar f tn I have had two separate ablation therapy on my heart now and due to have another in October this year. I occasionally take tylenol pm for poor sleep and backache when I wake. Someone mentioned to me that the antihistamine in these tablets may cause some of the problem?
268356 tn?1236002604 The active ingredients are acetaminphen (same as tylenol which I know is okay), pheniramine (antihistamine), and phenylephrine (nasal decongestant).
326590 tn?1296062449 I think that most of the risks are in the 1st trimester. But my doc said Tylenol/Tylenol PM was fine throughout pregnancy. I have taken it w/ at least 4 of my pregnancies and all of my babies were fine. If you are concerned, I would go ahead and call your doc. It will help put your mind at ease.
460348 tn?1213452322 m having so many problems sleeping at night and I was wondering if taking Tylenol PM or some kind of sleep aid would be ok to take with the Synthroid? I know there are certain things you can't ake when you have a thyroid but since I don't have one now I was wondering if there would be a problem??? I also read the post about the milk...I read some comments on that and was wondering if anyone out there does take their synthroid at night? I have terrible insomnia and tired all day...
1711722 tn?1356487554 Nyquil is pretty much an antihistamine, a decongestant, a pain reliever like tylenol and of course alcohol. I take Allegra D (an antihistamine and decongestant) and motrin because I cannot take tylenol. I have had a cold or a mild version of the flu at different times since starting tx (am better now). I wouldn't take anything without talking to your doctor but the allegra d was deemed ok by my dr and it is now OTC. I know it is ok with peg+riba+ and incivek.
612551 tn?1450022175 I got some relief from antihistamine and Tylenol, taking every 8 hours during the first 24 hours and then only once in the last 24 hours. Strange symptoms, and this is a repeat. Happily it doesn't happen often and seems to go away its own, not doctor visits or prescription medications uses.
461838 tn?1255790216 I am really struggling right now, trying to work at my job outside during the construction season. My GI would not reccomend anything stronger than tylenol and ibuprofren, and to take them as prescribed. Is there anything else you might recommend. The pollen allergies are really enhancing my headaches now.
7998970 tn?1435183202 s Tylenol while pregnant.
Avatar f tn I have been doing this for several years. Is it dangerous-I know tylenol is hard on the liver.
Avatar n tn So, if you do have the test make sure that you are very clear on what to avoid. Many people are not aware that PM pain meds like Tylenol PM have benadryl in them and have to be avoided as well. Take care and feel better.
Avatar f tn I really dont want to take any Tylenol are there any other remedies that you all have tried and found work? Thanks!
Avatar n tn I've never been one to take many medications but recently I've been having such severe menstrual cramps that I have to take some kind of medicine to remain functional throughout the day. When I take anything containing Aspirin I get really sick with symptoms including: running nose , asthma attacks, anxiety, and a rapid heart beat, so I've been taking low doses of Tylenol once a month. Recently I've noticed when I take Tylenol I get rather fatigued and get a runny nose.
Avatar f tn not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time... my question is can i take my antihistamine?
Avatar f tn Cold remedies that contain alcohol The decongestants pseudoephedrine and phenylephrine, which can affect blood flow to the placenta Pain relief, headache, and fever Acetaminophen (Anacin Aspirin-Free, Tylenol) Allergy relief Chlorpheniramine, an antihistamine (Chlor-Trimeton allergy tablets) Loratadine, an antihistamine (Alavert, Claritin, Tavist ND, Triaminic Allerchews) Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine (Banophen, Benadryl, Diphenhist, Genahist) Constipation, hemorrhoids, and diarrhea
Avatar n tn The night time cold medications are only combinations of either Tylenol or Ibuprofene (nsaid) and anti-histamines, which help you sleep by making you drowsey, but you can avoid the nsaid, by just taking a 25mg of Benadryl, which contains 25mg of antihistamine and a little Acetaminophen, the same ingredient of Tylenol. You can check interactions and side effects of drugs at www.drugs.
Avatar f tn So, with Lortabs and their tylenol content...4000+ mgs a day can be detrimental to both your kidneys and your liver? I pretty much had an idea this was the case, but for the last year or so, someone very close to me takes this much, and gets sick every time he eats. He also has extreme lower back pain at times, and the doctors at the quick care keep saying it's his back, and give him even more lortabs! Could getting sick after eating mean he as something wrong with his kidneys or liver?
Avatar n tn They come back every so often. Someone told me maybe from advil, so I switched to Tylenol, but hives came back. Someone else told me maybe from Tylenol, so I switched back to advil (when I get headaches) and I still got hives. Could not match the hives to times I took either Advil or Tylenol, or when I was menstruating or not. This past month, got period twice and hives twice, second one worse than the first. Benadryl allowed me to sleep but hives still there.
Avatar f tn That's something you should ask your prescribing physician. Syndol isn't a medication used in the US. I had to search for a while just to find out what was in it. From what I can tell it's simply Tylenol, Caffeine, Codeine and a sedating antihistamine similar to Benadryl. Just by looking at the profile, I'm assuming it's prescribed for tension headaches? If you're trying to conceive, you may want to just try not using it for a while.
Avatar f tn I would suggest that in USA there is a pain reliever called percogesic that contains tylenol and an antihistamine that is very effective for pain. But let me stress that chronic overuse of tylenol can also cause kidney failure as well as liver damage. My feet are a mess as well from the RA.I think you have no option but to take the T3 but to keep it at a minimum and it will be more effective and less addicting. You really are in a bind because of the kidney damage.
