Avatar m tn I just went for testing yesterday for Allergy testing and a few hours later i began having horrible joint pain. Never experienced anything like it and still in horrible pain. I too researched it and saw nothing on line. I’m reporting it to the allergist and CDC.
Avatar m tn I had allergy testing yesterday. They injected me intradermal with a histamine control. Alcohol 91% Cortisone cream Benadryl 2% cream HOT water HOT water with salt Ice Clarinex antihistamine Benadryl cream stopped all the other spots from itching except the histamine control. If I started rubbing it I might get my body to absorb the histamine faster? Another words can I itch it?

Avatar n tn Many doctors do require their patients to go off H2 blockers (a specific type of antihistamine. H2 blockers inclue Zantac (ranitidine) and Pepcid. I cannot recall the chemical in Pepcid at the moment. Another questionable med is Elavil (amitriptyline). It is an antidepressant but has some antihistamine qualities. Every doctor is different on these meds. Many don't want to cause issues with going off of these meds.
Avatar m tn Around two weeks later, I developed a red itchy rash all over my back, it spread to my arms and my face. I took Antihistamine and it cleared up the next day. I wanted to know if this rash has the characteristics of HIV rash, It's red, raised on my arms, and itchy. (I never had experience these rash ever in my life) 12 weeks, I've been treated with amoxicillin due to inflamed tonsils and now I had a course of diarrhea which lasted a week long. I never had a swollen lymph nodes. 1.
Avatar f tn I have recently returned to the lab approx a month ago and have had the same reaction again (hence the assumption that the allergy is to something in the lab) and took the same antihistamine and used over the counter antihistamine drops which had no effect. I have been prescribed fluorometholone eyedrops and tobramycin ointment which have cleared up the allergy. I am now faced with trying to figure out what I could be allergic to? and what can I do to manage this so that I can finish my work?
Avatar n tn It would help to use some OTC antihistamine or antiallergic medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You could use calamine lotion for local application at the sites of the lesions. Have you had any such reactions in the past? Is there a positive history of allergy in the family? If the symptoms still persist, you should consult your doctor about it and also ask him/her whether you need to see an allergy specialist. Let us know how you are doing and if you have any doubts. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn I was officially diagnosed with the allergy to said nut after allergy testing when I was in my early teens. I subsequently had a few more allergic reactions throughout the next 20+ years, all similar, some also with breathing difficulties, always only with ingestion of coconut or with it touching my tongue/mouth/face. I am not allergic to any other nuts or seeds.
Avatar n tn Hello, From the symptoms you have mentioned, it seems to be a case of Eczema. It is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Avatar m tn I've been retested by 2 doctors for skin testing and I swell up with some allergens. I was tested after using blood once and they blood work came back negative for allergy response. Yet my skin swells up 4+ for these specific items. Does this make sense at all? No antihistamine in me for all testing. Could this be a mistake in the lab or can this happen. I see it more so with food allergies. This is unrelated to any other questions I have asked. Can all tests be correct?
Avatar m tn 5 inches around injection and itchy! Been itchy ever since swelling started to reduce. Antihistamine helps with the itch. May not want another Tetanus shot after this one. Once the swelling came down I was able to gain more movement of my arm. I have had allergic reactions to wasp stings and it never swelled up like this. Even allergy testing got all red and swollen, but not nearly comparable to the swelling of the Tetanus shot.
Avatar n tn There are many possible allergen including latex allergy, as mentioned above. To identify the underlying cause, allergy testing may be done. Check with an allergologist for proper evaluation. Try to wear hypoallergenic materials, whether clothing or in your toiletries. Antihistamine medications may also help provide relief. Take care and do keep us posted.
612551 tn?1450022175 I had prior to the vet visit above been given Wilson one half Benedryl 25 mg Antihistamine morning and evening, in the hope it would clear up the paw problem. A couple weeks of this did not produce any improvement. I then checked and saw recommendations to use 1 - 2 mg per pound. As Wilson is j20+ pounds my does level was low. I have decided to continue giving him Benadryl but now one 25 mg capsule morning and night. Hope it keeps his paws and general itch problems under control.
Avatar f tn Here's one for the books. My daughter has had a allergic reaction to an oral antihistamine she took for what appeared to be hives just below the right side of her derriere. This little bout of hives were taking their time going away and so she thought by taking the antihistamine it would help the process.
