Avatar f tn Regular sudafed not the sudafed pe..or any kind of antihistamine like claritin. Other than that really nothing. I went threw that a few weeks ago. As long as ur not in ur first trimester.
268356 tn?1236002604 m not running a fever and (TMI) the snot is still clear so no infection. Just miserable. I have tried benadryl and sudafed, neither seems to be helping. I've got some halls cough drops which were also on my okay list. I was wondering is theraflu okay to take? I've got some theraflu in my desk here at work that works for sore throat, body ache, headache, nasal congestoin, fever, and runny nose. All of which I have minus the fever.
7998970 tn?1435183202 I'm not 100% sure but I think you can also take sudafed, call your health provider to be sure thou.
Avatar m tn other things hat help me get through it ocean ultray spray at least three times a day. I did try the sudafed, but if zyrtec makes you tired then sudafed will too. Especially the 60mg.
Avatar f tn If you are not taking anything prescribed for your allergies, you can try an OTC antihistamine like Sudafed, as well. If using an antihistamine be aware that it will show up in drug tests, and can cause you to fail them. So always make the tester aware you are taking them before hand should you need a test done for work etc. I Hope This Helps.
Avatar f tn My doctor always told me only regular Tylenol unless he prescribes something to me. Is no Tylenol sinus or Tylenol cold & flu or anything like that.
Avatar f tn I felt quite tired/weird dizzy though this wedding so I obviously overdosed. I remember that I use to take things like hismanol and sudafed which have since been banned as they have been found to be dangerous. Could this have caused me any long term permanent damage? A few years ago my dr found a strong heart murmur which is being monitored. Apparantly I have a small hole that they cant see on ultrasound. Could the allergy medication have done this?
640856 tn?1223241935 Continue the Sudafed (Pseudoephedrine). You may add some antihistamine tab as well (most have the side effect of sedation) I don't think you have an emergency situation now. Anyway Monday is just day after tomorrow. But difficult to comment without seeing you. I'll be interested in your ENT's comments.
216278 tn?1308861082 The regular red sudafed without the antihistamine in it and robitussin I was told by my RE are safe. I had terrible head cold moving into my chest just a week before my IVF. Also drink plenty of fluids, orange juice also. Use a humidifier and take two showers a day , 10 min long, helps to loosen the congestion. Best of luck to you!
Avatar n tn How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar m tn I would ask your physician to prescribe a decongestant and/or another antihistamine, i.e. Sudafed PE and/or Astelin Nasal Spray if the Nasonex isn't working.
Avatar f tn Im 6 months and I am so congested and have ear ache, is it safe to take sudafed????
Avatar f tn I've been sick off and on a lot with my sinuses my ob told me to take sudafed so I'm taking the nasal decongestant sudafed that the pharmacy said was safe. My concern is I haven't heard good things about taking it anyone else taking it and everything turned out ok with their baby? 29weeks tomorrow also.
Avatar f tn My doctor gave me a list of medications safe to take during pregnancy. Sudafed is ok to take, but it says for a cold, so I would assume Sudafed Cold and Cough. For allergies, it says Benadryl our loratidine, which is generic for Claritin.
Avatar f tn I am a 13 year old girl and I have been taking sudafed for 4 days now and OI was just awoken shaking uncontrollably could this be why? This discussion is related to shaking at night when I wake up in the middle of the night.
Avatar f tn So my Dr told me to take Sudafed for this head cold. However, they were adamant that I make sure I get the kind we have to sign for and not the OTC one. I was wondering why because I know the one we sign for has the stuff that people use to make meth but the OTC stuff does not. So what is the difference?
Avatar n tn t something else causing it and receive treatment if needed. You might want to try an antihistamine like Sudafed to see if it stops the problem. But be aware if your work requires random drug tests an antihistamine can cause you to fail it, so make sure you let the tester know you are taking it. I Hope This Helps Good Luck.
Avatar n tn ( I have allergies all year but this is ridiculous) I went to my doctor who stated because I am a runner and biker these symptoms get worse with the change in the air and the effect it has on my lungs...She recommended Sudafed PE....does not work as well as Tylenol Severe Allergy..I have tried everything over the years...I even was trying two 24 hour Zyrtecs a day because one did nothing and two made me wonder how I could still function, but still sneezing LOL ..

Avatar m tn But in general, with severe dry eyes you want to avoid the ingredients of diphenhydramine (benadryl) or phenyephrine/pseudophedrine (sudafed), brompheniramine (bromfed) because they will worsen your dry eyes. Basically its the decongestants that can worsen dry eyes and blood pressure and the antihistamines that will worsen dry eyes. You may be able to use a once a day antihistamine like claritin or zyrtec which have fewer systemic side effects.
Avatar m tn Treatment generally consists of avoidance of the causative allergens, once identified, routine daily nasal washes, the use of a prescription nasal steroid spray and/or the use of an antihistamine. The chronic use of inhaled or oral vasoconstrictive medicines, such as epinephrine or Sudafed ® (pseudoephedrine) is not recommended. Routine use of a nasal steroid spray can be very effective in the treatment of swollen turbinates.
Avatar f tn the tears are worse they run down my face from the time i awake. I have purchased OTC Chlor-trimeton antihistamine, take orally every 4 hours, Eye Drops 2 or 3 drops 4 times a day and I also purchased Sudafed- D 12 hour in which i had to purchase behind the pharmacy counter due to the ingredients in the Sudafed-D they needed my Drivers license in order to keep track of who is and how much is purchased by the same person, and with all that ...NO relief what so ever?
Avatar n tn I have had a lot of mucus build-up when I wake up in the middle of the night and find it very difficult to return to sleep. I keep trying to swallow what's caught over and over. Also, after having all this stuff draining into my stomach all night it feels upset the next morning. I broke my leg and was given Hydrocodone pills for a few months and guess what zero problems of any kind with nasal drip at night or stomach problems during the day.
Avatar f tn t stand it right now so have taken an antihistamine which has not done anything!!!! l am allergic to oral cortisone and sudafed makes me really jumpy inside my body' l am also very allergic to raw carrots, celery and kiwi fruit.....
Avatar n tn also have done x-ray of face which just shows congestion. and that respiratory test which shows i'm a borderline asthmatic!
Avatar f tn Furthermore, since this started I have had near constant nasal swelling (ie hard to breathe out of one or both nostrils). Sudafed helps a little but not completely. Sometimes I do have a sensation of shortness of breath, usually accompanying severe full nasal congestion. Just feels like my throat is inflamed when I have this feeling. I've seen my GP and pulmonologist. I've tried inhalers including ICS with labas. They don't seem to help much.
