Avatar n tn How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar f tn After visiting with the doctor yesterday due to a sinus infection I decided to confess to her about my headaches. :) Headaches that start behind my left eye, always the left. After several of these headaches, starting about 10 years ago, I finally found that Benedryl with a decongestant takes care of it. However, the longer I wait to take the Benedryl the longer it takes to get it under control. So then it radiates to the back of my head and into my shoulder.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have a migraine variant I started with vomiting and abdominal pain in my 20's and it occurred only at night and usually after or before stress (such as a midterm exam at college). It took a long time to find out I have a migraine varaint.. I had no aura and no headache on one side but had regular headaches. I am EEG positive for migraine/seizure pattern. They gave me Klonopin at night and the symptoms went away.
Avatar m tn It is an antihistamine and used as a migraine preventative. In Australia, I can buy it without a prescription for AU$7.00 a box. And you may also want to get your blood pressure checked, although I'd be suprised if it was high at your age.
Avatar f tn However, sinus headaches are rare. Migraine and cluster headaches are often misdiagnosed as sinus in origin. Migraine may be treated with abortive and regular migraine medicine. There are plenty of migraine drugs available and it is best that you discuss this with your doctor to determine the best medicine for you. Determining the headache triggers may also help. Take care and best regards.
Avatar m tn Medicine from asthma inhalers can also change pupil size. Other causes are excess pressure in one eye due to glaucoma, migraine, seizure, brain tumor or abscess, aneurysm, horner’s syndrome, meningitis, bleeding inside the skull by head injury. If you have any of these causes or if there is blurred vision, double vision, photosensitivity, fever and headache, stiff neck or severe eye pain, go to the emergency immediately. Hope this helps answer some of your doubts. Take care.
Avatar f tn not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time... my question is can i take my antihistamine?
1268921 tn?1288919056 I am on elavil for supposed acephalgic complicated migraines--I started on 10mg and am now on 25mg--and the dr wants to up it to 50mg. I have gained 6lbs in the last 2 weeks after upping the meds to 25mg. Plus, my vision is still not right. I haven't had another migraine, but the one I had was without headache (I got the numbness, loss of vision, etc.). Are there any meds out there that would work for being proactive with the migraines, but not cause the weight gain???
Avatar n tn So, in your response, the histamine I may be producing, is it normal? I have taken antihistamine tablets to see if swelling would go down..and it still takes two to three days before it is down completely. When the swelling begins and the migraine worsens it feels like the is fluid around the eyelid plus my forehead. What I'm asking is should I feel like a Cat scan is needed? If not do you recommend anything else?
397977 tn?1201264847 The YAZ helped the PMS symptoms I was having really well but I would get terrible headaches at the beginning or end of my cycle. I have tried a number of migraine medicines over the years and found relief with Maxault, Relpax and even Excedrin Migraine however, the last 3-4 months, those drugs don't seem to help anymore. I got my tubes tied in December 2007 but continued taking the Yaz until Jan 18th 2008. I had my period Jan 21st-26th and got a bad headache the last day of my cycle.
Avatar m tn every night when the sun starts to go down i start to get a migraine and my nose gets really hard to breath out of it. anyone else have this problem and know what the case of it is. i dont have insurance to go get it checked out.
Avatar n tn What kind were you taking?
Avatar f tn My symptoms started 2 years ago. First, there was frequent headaches. Then, when I would sneeze or cough, I would have severe pain in my forehead and temples for 2-3 seconds afterwards with occasional vision loss during that time. The vision just kind of fades out and comes back. 90% of the time, this triggers a regular headache that lasts a couple hours. Along with this, I have episodes of dizziness and nausea.
202665 tn?1248806733 Hey all, I'm having massive migraines like i have never had before. Truly blinding, cripling, and ones that have kept me sick for the last couple of days. About two weeks ago my pdoc boosted the level of all my meds (lamictal, cymbalta, lithium, trazadone) back to where i had been because she and the therapists are concerned i'm unraveling or shutting down. I was fine the first week and then hit a major stress trigger that I can't outrun.
632407 tn?1263210713 You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene . Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide).
Avatar f tn In my second trimester I'd have a migraine for days to weeks. I could barely function. I was so sick all the time. I tried everything hollistic from yoga, juicing, ice packs, soaking my feet in hot water with an ice pack on your head (suppossed to help with blood flow). Finally I tried a cup of coffee, tynenol, and benadryl. That didn't even work. So I got put on foricet which I took everyday cause the migraines were persistant.
Avatar m tn Vestibular migraines are thought to originate in the ear, so you might need to add something like ativan, an antihistamine, phergan, etc., for dizziness. I wish I could tell you that your journey will be easy, and that find a treatment that works will be smooth. It probably won't. Migraine treatment is tricky, and what works well for me might not work for you, and you'll probably try several meds before landing on the med or med combo that works best for you.
Avatar f tn Do u have Hashimoto's as well? Have u tried an antihistamine?
Avatar f tn You could take some oral antihistamine or antiallergic medications like loratadine or cetrizine and see if it helps with your symptoms. Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions to help soothe the itching. What other symptoms are you having? Since when have you noticed the lesions? Are you allergic to any specific substances? Have you consulted a doctor for your migraine symptoms? You should use a medicated sunscreen whenever you go out and avoid sun exposure.
Avatar m tn Over the past two to three years symptoms also include severe migraine headaches, joint pain, and sleep disorders. Now I am 44 years old. In an effort to try and document a pattern, I recently clued into an increase of some symptoms just prior to or at the beginning of my period. (Stress definitely aggravates my conditions) I confronted my gyno, but basically got a response that it was a coincidence, and it had nothing to do with hormones. Could I be allergic to my own hormones?
Avatar f tn m 5 weeks along and so terrified of doing something wrong. I suffer from migraines several times a month, and normally take Excedrin Migraine daily. (Although stopped this week when I found out I was pregnant.) My hubby thinks I'm going over the edge because I refuse to drink the diet ginger ale we just stocked up on, but at least understands the no lunch meat thing. I won't have a doctor for a month, and wondering if it's safe to start prenatal vitamins now.
421455 tn?1254076105 I have a similar sounding pain - started off with a throbbing pain, like a migraine, and now its like a cold pressure sensation, sometimes numb, sometimes sensitive. It's moving to my ear (the pain is just on my right side). The pain has been constantly there for 9 days. I've been to my doctor and accident and emergency but they just think i'm coming off a migraine and i've just started painkillers. They don't help, they just space me out a bit. I'm worrying too...
2103516 tn?1350948515 I remember trying Percogesic when I was in WD. (NO...not percoCET!) It's OTC, but has some ingredient in it like an antihistamine. NOT GOOD! I was climbing the walls. It's another one to definitely stay away from. And anything that says "migraine/tension" is also going to be full of caffeine. They don't bother me, but I drink a lot of diet coke, so that's probably why.
