Avatar m tn Very hard to tell what a rash is without seeing it, so yes I so suggest you show it to a doctor. If you are feeling unwell with it it could be mabye chickenpox, which means you are infectious and need time off school etc. Or it could be an allergic reaction, or a skin condition. Really you need to have this checked out, particularly as it seems to be spreading. Make an appointment with your doctor. They will also likely be able to prescribe you treatment for the itching. Get well soon.
612551 tn?1450022175 I had prior to the vet visit above been given Wilson one half Benedryl 25 mg Antihistamine morning and evening, in the hope it would clear up the paw problem. A couple weeks of this did not produce any improvement. I then checked and saw recommendations to use 1 - 2 mg per pound. As Wilson is j20+ pounds my does level was low. I have decided to continue giving him Benadryl but now one 25 mg capsule morning and night. Hope it keeps his paws and general itch problems under control.

Avatar m tn After being on the riba for a month, it should be at pretty steady levels in his system and he can take it earlier in the day for the evening dose. The riba makes patients a little hyper and can interfere with sleep, which he REALLY needs while on the drugs. Taking it earlier, say at 5 in the afternoon should make it disturb his sleep a little less. I kept a jar of peanut butter on hand to take with it or a handful of nuts, if I was taking it very long before dinnertime.
Avatar n tn Veramystâ„¢ (fluticasone furoate) is a nasal inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) and, strictly speaking, not an antihistamine. As an anti-inflammatory medicine, however, has the potential to reduce histamine mediated inflammation, in a non-specific fashion. That it is not an antihistamine is evident by the very many studies of combination therapy, the combination of fluticasone with an histamine 2 (H2) blocker non-sedating antihistamine.

Avatar f tn Doctor diagnosed it as flu which was common in that time. For following few days i was feeling itchy so i took antihistamine medication which was able to releve symptoms and no rashes after that. None of these rash were on chest, under arm or on back. Can you please advise what is chance of 27 day duo missing possible infection ?
Avatar m tn When you see the doctor, get him or her to tell you how large a dose of antihistamine you should take for a reaction like this. If you can get the antihistamine into your system quickly enough, then that ought to greatly reduce the chances of your ever needing to use the epi pen. I would take the antihistamine as soon as any hint of a systemic reaction started.

Avatar f tn Benadryl, Claritin and Zyrtec for canine patients since the combination seems to help just a bit more than a single antihistamine alone. However please discuss antihistamine use with your veterinarian before instituting. There is another prescription anti-itch product called Apoquel, which will help but it has side effects and Apoquel should be discussed with your veterinarian to see if it is right for your dog.
