Common Questions and Answers about Antihistamine kitten

antihistamine

Avatar f tn My 6 month old kitten was outside catching bugs and then suddenly came running in the house acting strange. He was licking himself all over in a frantic way. His paw is now swollen and he is continuing to run around licking himself. I assume he was stung by a bee or bitten by ants. His mouth and face do not seem to be swelling but what can I do for his itching? He seems so miserable!
Avatar n tn I have the red bumps that appeared a few days ago and have been spreading ever since. I had just switched detergents and got a new kitten so I'm wondering if one of those two things or something more serious. Thanks in advance. btw, its not acne.
Avatar n tn How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar n tn hi. we just got a kitten, and although i lived all my life in my partents house with a cat, i seem to have developped a pet allergie. i have itchy eyes, sneezing, easy headaches, difficulty in breathing, sensation of a burning nose. i started taking some allergie stop medicine and use some spray to decongesionate my nose. they work, in big lines, very good, my question is: for how long can i still use this medicine? do not want to abuse it. how expensive are the allergie stop shots?
1474611 tn?1416632958 Often they are weight dosed, even for cats, which also are kitten vs. adult cat dosed. If the dosage was too much, that could have caused irritation. Lastly, if the medication was a "cheap" product like Hertz and similar...these products often have other ingredients that tend to be irritants. Also, they often aren't that effective (from what I've seen from clients who have tried them).
Avatar f tn not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time... my question is can i take my antihistamine?
Avatar m tn Do not let your kitten outside. Is the kitten a male or a female kitten? I assume you brought the kitten to a vet to be vaccinated ? You should have a litter box for the kitten. What part of the kitten's body did the dog bite ? Did the bite break the kitten's skin ? I am sure other people on the cat forum will give their opinions and suggestions too. Keep a close eye on your young kitten.
Avatar m tn The cat also will hiss and hit the kitten with her paw if she walks by sometimes and the kitten will always run after the cat anytime it moves. I tried putting a 'cat calming' liquid i can put in their water that i got from a pet store, however only 1/4 of the amount a regular cat is supposed to get is allowed for a kitten so i only put 1/4 of a teaspoon in, and the cat doesn't want to drink the liquid straight so I cannot monitor it at all times of the day.
Avatar f tn Is this a one week old kitten or a kitten you've had one week? Regardless, never bath a kitten in water unless it's an emergency, use pet wipes instead. I need a bit more detail on it's age (a one week old needs very specific, careful care), but young kittens tend to have distended bellies. Unless your kitten seems sick, it's probably just the normal course of growing.
Avatar m tn We brought a male kitten into our household about 3 months ago. The kitten is 4 months old now and has two grown male cat companions in the household as well. This kitten started immediately playing/attacking the other cats, hogged the other cats food, and just generally tried to take over any and everything the other cats liked and fights constantly even when the other cats are tired of messing with this kitten.
Avatar n tn Put a towel over a heating pad and put the kitten on it to keep it warm. Even if you can get the kitten to eat, if it is cold, it won't help the kitten. When the kitten's body temperature starts to drop, its system starts to shut down, and feeding it can actually harm more than it can help.
Avatar f tn I don't know whether or not your kitten eating your puppy's food is harmful......is the puppy's food smaller than what you were feeding your kitten? I found that with my cat(she's about 10 months old), she likes the smaller food, and we still feed her Purina kitten chow, or another kitten formula. She will eat "cat" food too, but she really seems to like the stuff for kittens and has an easier time eating it.
1680047 tn?1468911829 I have a 9 week old male kitten that i adopted, and a female cat that i just got spayed. My female cat when i first got the kitten did not like him and now she lets him nurse from her. She treats him as if he is her own kitten. She has never had a litter of kittens. So why would she let him do this.
1444031 tn?1284362465 Take your kitten to a veterinarian soon. At this young age the kitten can be helped. Don't give any pain medication because the kitten is way too young and aspirin will kill the kitten.
Avatar n tn I Have a 17 day old kitten. what should i do to make sure the kitten stays healthy ?
Avatar m tn I agree with babygirlhawks. I would take this kitten back to your vet for further help. Tell the vet that the kitten is not keeping any meals down. If the kitten is stumbling etc. there must be a reason. This kitty needs more help from the vet. Seven weeks is of course less than 2 months.
Avatar n tn What kind were you taking?
1409507 tn?1281917406 you have a pet dander allergy and should consider removing the cats from your environment...
Avatar f tn I am allergic to sulfa but have not been into contact with that. I have a kitten that has had check ups and frontline. No new soaps, lotions, etc. I am young (twentys) and do not have any other health problems besides arthralgia. The best I can describe these are that they are anywhere from a pin sized to a pinky nail size. They pop up randomly but mostly in groups. Sometimes there are arranged in a line but not always.
596105 tn?1314580333 Well my grandmother just called me from Moscow,Russia asking me to find an answer to her question....Her 5 month old Persian kitten was acting completely fine on Saturday,March 13th.....And then on Sunday she said the cat puked out some white foam and white goo,and didn't get up all day long...My grandmother doesn't have a way of getting to a vet, neither does she have the money...The kitten was a present to her from an old friend...
Avatar n tn Hi thank God first that your husband brought the little babe home. KMS is the ideal kitten formula for newborns and young kittens, MOst petstores and of course the vets, and perhaps even vets offices would have the kitten formula. There are also many cat rescue groups and animal sheters that also have kitten and puppy formulas. Where did your husband find the kitten? Was it out all by itself, or in an area where the mom could have left it as if moving it?
