antihistamine

Avatar f tn m wondering if any of you have heard of this, or do take the antihistamine. Right now I take Panadol and do my injection right before bed to try and sleep through it.
Avatar n tn How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar n tn the last doctor told me that it looks a little inflamed and that the reason nothing seems to relieve the itch is because the problem is deep and the topical steroids and anti fungas creams cannot work . i also received an injection of cortisone and it did not help. any ideas?
Avatar n tn Yay... I went to the doctor and got an injection and some antihistamine... I am about 90% better. thanks.
Avatar n tn Take an over-the-counter antihistamine. Sometimes the insects carry bacterial infections so I would feel better if you had it looked at by an in-person M.D.
Avatar f tn not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time... my question is can i take my antihistamine?
Avatar m tn Yesterday I received a Lipo-Plex injection (B12 with Lipotropics) that contains Methionine a sulfur containing amino acid. I have a Sulfa allergy (normally get an extremely high fever). Should I be worried? I haven't had any side effects. Feeling a little flushed (hot) but that is about it. Otherwise I feel great. Can I continue with these shots? Thanks!
Avatar n tn Wash your hands after using it. Also, benedryl or an antihistamine should help. If it is after hours ask the on call doctor for advice.
568429 tn?1216770861 I have been on allergy shots for about a year and have yet to get to maintenance because of the size of the hives I develop after. After each injection I feel such extreme tiredness that I basically write off my day and sleep. Is this a normal response and will it ease up as time goes on? Regards Sleepy Head.
Avatar f tn The allergy shot therapy leaves me with large bruises at the injection site. I'm not elderly since I read the older you are the more you bruise. Does anyone have a remedy to prevent or at least reduce this bruising? The immunotherapy is helping me. I'm just really embarrased of all the bruises.
Avatar n tn For that I started taking vitamin b12 injection. In addition to that, I also started taking two boiled eggs per day for around six weeks. For the info, I am a strict vegetarian and I had never taken any eggs or egg related products since my Birth. But because of this medicla problem I started consumting eggs. After I started taking eggs, I noticed few rashes on my forehead. The rashes are small raised bumps and there was some itching.
Avatar m tn There was a bubble of histamine under my skin from the injection. I took an oral antihistamine, waited 20 minutes, then took a towel with very hot water and started applying pressure and rubbing it to try and spread out the liquid injected under my skin. I did this for about 3 minutes. Then I only kept hot water on it for another minute. The area is getting more red now after about 15 minutes. But the bubble is a little more flat. So I moved some of the liquid.
Avatar f tn I have been on it since early November, My first drug was Plegridy injections, and after 5 months I had a bad reaction, almost as though I was experiencing a relapse. Also injection site reactions As soon as I went off it, I recovered.
Avatar m tn I am a really allergic person, when your face swells up and your lips that is a bad reaction. And when i get it like that i go to hospital and they give me an injection or an i.v of antihistamine i also carry an epi pen which is adrenaline because my wind pipe sometime closes with the swelling. It can take two days for you to react to something so when you have a reaction think is there anything different you have ate or touched.
Avatar m tn 7 days later, half as swollen, still red about 3.5 inches around injection and itchy! Been itchy ever since swelling started to reduce. Antihistamine helps with the itch. May not want another Tetanus shot after this one. Once the swelling came down I was able to gain more movement of my arm. I have had allergic reactions to wasp stings and it never swelled up like this. Even allergy testing got all red and swollen, but not nearly comparable to the swelling of the Tetanus shot.
Avatar f tn The first time it happened, my doctor thought I had been bitten by a spider, but that was ruled out. Was put on Steroids, given a steroid injection and an anti-itch cream. Happened several times that summer and we finally thought it was an allergic reaction to something used on a golf course. That seemed to be the only time it would happen, is after I played golf. Same treatment was given each time and it cleared up. Now it has started happening when I have been out in my yard.
Avatar n tn What kind were you taking?
Avatar f tn My blood sugar numbers have also improved pretty significantly. This morning I noticed a large red area around the injection site with some swelling. Is this common or should I be worried that I may be having a bad reaction to the medicine?
324913 tn?1302869517 My neuro told me to take one paracetemol, one pain killer and one antihistamine half an hour before and then again afterwards. In fairness, I don't remember when I was supposed to take them afterwards. Point being, I did the shot after coming home from dinner out so it was late (about midnight) and went straight to bed. I woke at 8am and by 9am was feeling pretty blah. But I hadn't taken any more tablets after the first lot taken before the shot. When I took more i felt ok.
Avatar m tn I seem to benefit more when it was strong enough to trigger a small controllable reaction 4-6 minutes after an injection. 2 hours later when the reaction wore off I felt GREAT! This question is if they are triggering a reaction does that mean that they will not work as well? They slowed me down and I don't have reactions now, but I don't feel the improvements any more like I used to a few hours after a triggered reaction.
612551 tn?1450022175 I had prior to the vet visit above been given Wilson one half Benedryl 25 mg Antihistamine morning and evening, in the hope it would clear up the paw problem. A couple weeks of this did not produce any improvement. I then checked and saw recommendations to use 1 - 2 mg per pound. As Wilson is j20+ pounds my does level was low. I have decided to continue giving him Benadryl but now one 25 mg capsule morning and night. Hope it keeps his paws and general itch problems under control.
