757137 tn?1347196453 Because of serious side of effects of both Advair and an inhaled steroid that did not contain salmeterol, I now rely solely on a nebulizer and an antihistamine. I take supplements to reduce inflammation and thin mucus. I have moderate COPD and am doing fairly well, but would benefit from a longer-lasting medication. Any suggestions? This discussion is related to Advair Skip a Day.
Avatar m tn For this, there are steroidal sprays for allergic rhinitis and steroidal inhalers for asthma. The steroid content is very minimal in both, sprays and inhalers and long-term use will prevent attacks. When you have an attack, you can use an antihistamine (like Cetzine) for allergic rhinitis. Cetzine is not a steroid and all antihistamines will have some sedatory effects. For wheezing, during the attacks, you can use Asthalin. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Thanks for posting in. Eyedrops can be one reason of you have been using. Medicine from asthma inhalers can also change pupil size. Other causes are excess pressure in one eye due to glaucoma, migraine, seizure, brain tumor or abscess, aneurysm, horner’s syndrome, meningitis, bleeding inside the skull by head injury. If you have any of these causes or if there is blurred vision, double vision, photosensitivity, fever and headache, stiff neck or severe eye pain, go to the emergency immediately.
Avatar f tn ve been to see my GP countless times since it began and have been prescribed antibiotics, steroid nasal spray, throat spray, inhalers, antacid tablets and have even had an x-ray, all of which have failed to work or diagnose a problem. I'm constantly drinking water, chewing gum and using mouthwash to ensure that my mouth isn't dry. It's completely taken any enjoyment out of my life as I am constantly coughing or just have a general discomfort in my throat. Any help on what to do next?
Avatar m tn thanks for the reply, yes i googled that before messaging and the only one it shows is Seldane, because of the problem with this antihistamine and that it had been taking off the market (not a newer antihistamine), i wanted to know of any other antihistamines? are there no others for enlarged prostate sufferers? 2nd question is after stopping the intake of antihistamine that effect the prostate, woiuld these be a short term effect and the prostate goes back to how it was?
Avatar n tn How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar n tn Drs will typically give infants nebulizer treatments with a mask vs. an inhaler. Inhalers are usually more given to older toddlers and children. Does this help?
1173196 tn?1292916490 You may have pregnancy Rhinitis I suffered with Fionn as well. If you call your doctor they might recommend a antihistamine or you can try more natural and do saline wash.

Avatar f tn I had heard such things can be expected after quitting, but to be on the safe side, saw a doctor who confirmed post-nasal drip, said my chest sounded clear and that it was probably allergy-related, and suggested I try taking an antihistamine. Also to be on the safe side, ordered a chest x-ray which came back negative.
Avatar m tn ve been to doctors and they would all tell me different things and prescribe cough medicine and give me inhalers. They never worked. All I really did was wait until March until it naturally ended. I also tried getting an X-Ray done and they say my lungs are perfectly normal and healthy. I'm currently trying Acupuncture and I've had 2 treatments with no improvement...I'm going to try 2 more as recommended. Also, my throat does not itch and I do not have a stuffy nose or watery eyes.

Please ensure to do this prior to your meals. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
