666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar m tn I decided to get tested for HIV so I got tested twice with Questdiagnostics(HIV-1/HIV-2 EIA with reflex) and Labcorp(HIV 1/O/2 Abs, Qual) both results were non reactive or negative. However my concern is about the test generations . Are this labs using first , second or third generations? Will the window period of three months post exposure apply to the first generations tests or would it be longer? I called both labs and they couldn’t tell me they said a doctor would need to call.
Avatar m tn when you mention the 3 month period for conclusive test result, does it refer to 4th generation test or does the same timeline applies for all the other test generations???
Avatar f tn not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Avatar f tn My family has 5 generations of documented autonomic symtoms that affect quality of our lives. It appears to be genetic. Classically we have hypermobility, mild to severe episodes of POTS, Fibromyiolga, lack of bowel motility, medication allergies, hypersensitive to thermal changes, autoimmune problems, pulmonary infections, Tachy Brady syndrome, mottled skin, dry eyes, and are fair skinned. We have a mixed family background that includes German, French, Native American.
Avatar n tn What kind were you taking?
437027 tn?1670266352 yeah I think it could skip generations, my grandma had red hair and my sister has red hair, while my dad has black hair (or it was til it turned gray) and my mom had dark brown hair. Kinda like twins skipping generations huh?
Avatar f tn BUT it also depends on how its handled and treated from the start. Theres massive debate over how much bipolar is caused by chemical imbalance vs children that werent disciplined for their outbursts properly. Bipolar is no death sentence.

612551 tn?1450022175 I had prior to the vet visit above been given Wilson one half Benedryl 25 mg Antihistamine morning and evening, in the hope it would clear up the paw problem. A couple weeks of this did not produce any improvement. I then checked and saw recommendations to use 1 - 2 mg per pound. As Wilson is j20+ pounds my does level was low. I have decided to continue giving him Benadryl but now one 25 mg capsule morning and night. Hope it keeps his paws and general itch problems under control.
Avatar f tn Here's one for the books. My daughter has had a allergic reaction to an oral antihistamine she took for what appeared to be hives just below the right side of her derriere. This little bout of hives were taking their time going away and so she thought by taking the antihistamine it would help the process.
Avatar f tn Hi, my dermatologist has prescribed me a antihistamine for my itching and wants me to use it for 4-6 weeks. The med is called hydroxzine. I am concerned because i never heard of anyone using antihistamine for that long. Will this severly affect my liver? Please help!
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome to our little MS community, I'm sorry to hear you've just been diagnosed but please don't worry that your children are now at risk of being diagnosed too, it's actually more common to be the only person in your family dx with MS. It's rare for MS to run in families, yes it does happen but it's not the norm to be multi generational, or to skip generations like a lot of the inheritable or other autoimmune conditions.
Avatar n tn The generation we use is the 2nd. All generations are the same at 6 weeks. Under the 6 week mark-there is a 2-3 day difference between the generations.
Avatar n tn Veramyst™ (fluticasone furoate) is a nasal inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) and, strictly speaking, not an antihistamine. As an anti-inflammatory medicine, however, has the potential to reduce histamine mediated inflammation, in a non-specific fashion. That it is not an antihistamine is evident by the very many studies of combination therapy, the combination of fluticasone with an histamine 2 (H2) blocker non-sedating antihistamine.
Avatar f tn t know which generations were these tests, I can suppose that they are quite new because I know that tests which look for HIV 2 too are new generations tests. Can you confirme this? In Italy the governament is very conservative and it still recommends a test at 6 months, but in other countries (like France and I think US) doctors say that an HIV antibody test is conclusive after 3 months. Can you confirm that? Can I be sure of my negative result from the ab HIV 1 2 test (ICMA) after 15 weeks?
