How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
Hi, my dermatologist has prescribed me a antihistamine for my itching and wants me to use it for 4-6 weeks. The med is called hydroxzine. I am concerned because i never heard of anyone using antihistamine for that long. Will this severly affect my liver? Please help!
You were given pain medication, anti-inflammatory, antihistamine and antipsychotic/tranqulizer. You may experience gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting and sedative effects. Whether its vomiting or feeling nausas. I feel so useless any ideas on what I could do toget through my work day without having to leave.
Since then I have avoided taking any antihistmaines except for Benadryl. I did take an occasional Claritin but it seems like every time I did anything I break out more. My allergist told me to try Claritin tabs instead of gel caps but I took one after having my allergy shot and I broke out in hives again. Now all the pollen is out and my eyes are really itchy and red and I have a hard time seeing at work. I tried taking Atarax last night to see if that would help more than Benadryl.
If that does not work, then you probably need a prescription for Zofran which blocks the nausea and vomiting (which is caused by the drugs). Many of us used Zofran. It works very well for most of us. I took 8 mg every 8 hours for a few months.
Don't let this go. It will snowball. If the phenergan does not work, then ask for Zofran. Zofran does not make you sleepy. Phenergan does. Phenergan is cheaper, but Zofran works better (in my opinion). It is used to treat the nausea from Chemo.
not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time... my question is can i take my antihistamine?
We thought at the time she either had a sore throat or nausea virus as she was holding the food in her mouth and refusing to swallow. She also stated hiccoughing violently after food and then later vomiting clear liquid at the first few mouthfulls.
In the past ten weeks three of us have been struggling to get her to eat or drink by giving her lots of tiny amounts. She has maintained her weight of about 6.5 stone.

thanks for the reply, yes i googled that before messaging and the only one it shows is Seldane, because of the problem with this antihistamine and that it had been taking off the market (not a newer antihistamine), i wanted to know of any other antihistamines?
are there no others for enlarged prostate sufferers?
2nd question is after stopping the intake of antihistamine that effect the prostate, woiuld these be a short term effect and the prostate goes back to how it was?
By the way, he was diagnosed for the vomiting with Acid Reflux???? Doesn't sound quite right to me, as he still continues to vomit ( with belching & gas) , in the mornings and thus was put on Prevacid. Not sure if it is working yet - its only been 4 days. Also, as far as the diarreah is concerned, gastro told us it was a viral infection and put him on Probiotics twice a day. THAT hasn't worked either!

The main use is as an Antihistamine. It can also be used for motion sickness as well as other causes of nausea/vomiting and pain management. It's a Category C drug to use while pregnant, meaning that no adequate studies have been done on humans.
I myself was on Phenergan for 7 months of my pregnancy, 2-4 times a day at 25 mg. I had extreme nausea/vomiting that was uncontrolled without it. My baby girl is 110% healthy with no adverse effects.
If you use an antihistamine thinking it's an allergy when indeed it's really a heart problem, the antihistamine can make the heart worse, so you must get a diagnoses before you treat.....
Licking air is usually Nausea or acid reflux....Post nasal drip normally causes a cough...Good luck & let us know what you find out....
When this began in April of 2018, she could not hold down food or liquids for weeks. She went in for a scope and they said she has 5 ulcers at the top of her stomach opening. They aren't peptic ulcers. Her doctor said she likely developed the ulcers from taking too much Advil, because she has debilitating cramps when she's on her period. He prescribed Prilosec to reduce stomach acid production and told her to start taking tylenol instead.
Took for 1week 5mg desloratadine after my ivf. transfer. Started the antihistamine day 6 after embryo transfer without thinking or consulting the dr.(i always took it during pregnancy and thought its safe but never at such an early stage of pregnancy). Tested positive BHCG day8 after transfer +hcg22 day11+hcg53 day16 hcg56 day18 dropped hcg36. Certain antihistamines do help w morning sickness. It's not uncommon. I swear I have an undiagnosed case of HG bc my doctor doesn't really seem to give a crap or even know what is going on in my pregnancy. I refused to take the harsh anti nausea meds like Phenergan or zofran bc I'm not willing to risk my babies health, so basically i just ended up vomiting and having hot flashes all of my 1st trimester and well into my second.
Over the last five days I have has horrible dizziness and vomiting---headaches cannor walk alone cannot drive or work. Had a MRi and the diagnosis was sinus disease Have never heard of it before. I have had lots of sinus headaches and problems for several years but this is the worst
