antihistamine

Avatar f tn When this began in April of 2018, she could not hold down food or liquids for weeks. She went in for a scope and they said she has 5 ulcers at the top of her stomach opening. They aren't peptic ulcers. Her doctor said she likely developed the ulcers from taking too much Advil, because she has debilitating cramps when she's on her period. He prescribed Prilosec to reduce stomach acid production and told her to start taking tylenol instead.
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar n tn How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
Avatar f tn It contains lidocaine (which is a topical anesthetic for the pain); Benadryl (diphenhydraminen, an antihistamine to reduce inflammation), and Maalox (an antacid that help to coat the sores and soothe).
Avatar f tn Hi, my dermatologist has prescribed me a antihistamine for my itching and wants me to use it for 4-6 weeks. The med is called hydroxzine. I am concerned because i never heard of anyone using antihistamine for that long. Will this severly affect my liver? Please help!
Avatar n tn Tagament (cimetidine) is in a class of heartburn medications called H2 receptor blockers. These are a special type of antihistamine which are more effective in the stomach, but they do have some effect on systemic allergic reactions. I have heard of using ranitidine for this purpose more frequently. You may want to talk to her doctor about supplementing the Allegra with benadryl when she starts itching.
Avatar f tn Since then I have avoided taking any antihistmaines except for Benadryl. I did take an occasional Claritin but it seems like every time I did anything I break out more. My allergist told me to try Claritin tabs instead of gel caps but I took one after having my allergy shot and I broke out in hives again. Now all the pollen is out and my eyes are really itchy and red and I have a hard time seeing at work. I tried taking Atarax last night to see if that would help more than Benadryl.
Avatar f tn not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time... my question is can i take my antihistamine?
Avatar m tn The causes are infections, medications, bee/wasp stings, food allergies, environmental allergies, stress, cold temperatures etc. Sometimes the causes are idiopathic. The symptoms of STDs include warts, ulcers, yellow or white vaginal/penile discharge, burning with urination, pelvic pain, bleeding between periods, testicular pain and joint pain etc. You do not seem to have any of these symptoms. These symptoms which respond to an antihistamine are probably hives.
Avatar n tn DSM-IV does not classify medications. Coricidin is an antihistamine, not a mental health medication.
Avatar m tn I am sure that having some foods can trigger development of sores in the mouth also called as apthous ulcers. However, removal of the whole layer as one is something which would make me worried. I am sure that there are many different additives to food , however, they are just spices and since they belong to the category of food materials they should not bring out the whole lining.
Avatar m tn thanks for the reply, yes i googled that before messaging and the only one it shows is Seldane, because of the problem with this antihistamine and that it had been taking off the market (not a newer antihistamine), i wanted to know of any other antihistamines? are there no others for enlarged prostate sufferers? 2nd question is after stopping the intake of antihistamine that effect the prostate, woiuld these be a short term effect and the prostate goes back to how it was?
Avatar n tn If you use an antihistamine thinking it's an allergy when indeed it's really a heart problem, the antihistamine can make the heart worse, so you must get a diagnoses before you treat..... Licking air is usually Nausea or acid reflux....Post nasal drip normally causes a cough...Good luck & let us know what you find out....
Avatar n tn Took for 1week 5mg desloratadine after my ivf. transfer. Started the antihistamine day 6 after embryo transfer without thinking or consulting the dr.(i always took it during pregnancy and thought its safe but never at such an early stage of pregnancy). Tested positive BHCG day8 after transfer +hcg22 day11+hcg53 day16 hcg56 day18 dropped hcg36. Can the reason of miscarriage be the use of antihistamine ? can antihistamine stop implantation from continuing ?
Avatar n tn I am a 33 year old woman, I was diagnosed with dermographia 3 years ago and take a prescription antihistamine every day to help with symptoms. I first had skin problems in 2003, my skin would itch so badly that I would want to peel it off. It stopped for a while and reappeared again and it has been like this for 4 years, the only thing that helps take the edge off it is the antihistamine. I don't have to have scratched my skin for it to mark.

286124 tn?1214938528 hey everybody! sorry i haven't been on for a while, but i've been in the hospital with a preforated ulcer. i had emergency surgery about a week ago for it. my question is this: can lorecet (sp?) cause ulcers? the doctor gave me this for pain, and i'm scared to take anything after the surgery. the doctors say the ulcer happened because of use of goody powders. i've been taking them since i was in my early 20's, i'm 36 now.
Avatar f tn another thing is your dr shouldve told you what is causing your ulcers. not only does testing tell you have ulcers, but it can tell you what kind. ulcers dont just come from stress or lots of caffeine, they can also be from a bacterial infection, and if it is, you have to take a bunch of pills to kill the infection. also, a few of the not so common conditions im referencing (sorry, cant remember the names) cause recurring ulcers, but are not usually limited to stomach ulcers.
Avatar m tn Hello. Just diagnosed with duodenal bulb ulcers. Read cabbage juice is great for ulcers, but I don't think I can drink it. I read from a very old site that natural stores supposedly have powdered raw cabbage. Anyone know where to buy this??? Looked everywhere!!! ...not looking forward to taking omeprazole...
Avatar n tn s kind of like a band-aid for the inside of your stomach lining. I heard about this old wives tale of drinking milk, and thought I would try it, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but its worth a shot.
Avatar f tn I agree with AnnieBrooke - you need to be seen by a different doctor! And preferably an ear, nose and throat doc! When you have a throat so sore that you can barely swallow, can't eat at all and have ulcers on your tonsils, SOMETHING definitely needs to be done! Did your doc even bother to do a strep test or anything? Strep throat can also cause ulcers in the throat and mouth and strep is definitely something that neeeds to be treated with antibiotics.
5128334 tn?1364001945 For a few years now I have been getting outbreaks of hives. The consistent factor in the past has been a night of heavy alcohol consumption. If I went out drinking a significant amount, the next day I would break out in hives and red rash. I saw an allergist a couple of years back about this reaction. I was tested for food allergy to pretty much every basic food ingredient in alcohol (corn, potato, wheat, grape, etc.) and had no reaction to any of these.
5059723 tn?1370474420 I'm going on 32 weeks and have a mouthful of ulcers. Don't know what to do it hurts too bad to eat.
1067212 tn?1353960402 I have two mouth ulcers/cankor sores. I get them when I am stressed out or when I brush my teeth too hard. Am I right in thinking these lesions aren't associated with herpes? I also have low risk HPV.
