Antihistamine for ear fluid

Common Questions and Answers about Antihistamine for ear fluid

antihistamine

Avatar f tn God seems to have troubled you with quite a few to handle.Sorry for that. But what falls prominently in my eye,is that you have blocked sinuses which should be treated medically or surgically (using a technique called FESS).Your fluid in the ear (though I don't understand how can the pressure be normal if there was fluid in the ear.. doesn't happen that way) would require a myringotomy and grommet insertion to relieve the symptoms if they are not responding to medications.
Avatar n tn If you are concerned, you should see a doctor. If it is fluid in your ear, he may give you a prescription for an antihistamine, Meclizine, antibiotics if it is an infection, and possibly a water pill for the fluid. the diarrhea could be caused by a number of things. If it persists, I would see a doctor. Hope this helps and hope you feel better soon.
Avatar n tn For 5 weeks now I have fluid that is filling my middle ear and seems to be coming from everywhere in my head. Sometimes it's very gluppy sometimes like water. It's scaring me! Have seen an ent specialist who thought it mite be sinusitis so put cam up my nose but cudnt see anything!! Also my gp thinks I'm imagining it!! Why would I imagine something like that?! It's making me worry cus I'm on 3rd course of antibiotics now and nothing has changed.
Avatar f tn I sometimes wake up with a tight feeling in my chest. Could this be asthma maybe? Why would I get fluid in my right ear? Thanks for your attention to this matter.
Avatar n tn what is the best promotion of faciliting the draining of fluid through my ear to avoid this/treat this? is there a natural way to promote histamine levels? what do i do when it aches so bad?
1679858 tn?1346765181 I do, however, have constant ear fullness and sinus problems (which I have read can be related) and wonder how others have found how sinus medications work for them. Has anyone ever found that the sinus meds relieve the ear pressure. Does anyone know what the ear pressure is caused from. My NS has told me that ear fullness is not a symptom of Chiari ???
Avatar f tn Another thing that my doctor recommends beside the reverse ear pop technique he taught me is to take an antihistamine. Not sure why, but it does help. If this continues, see your doctor.
1485372 tn?1359545131 Wow! I would probably get a second opinion. If his ears are feel clogged up and he is having dizziness it sounds like he has fluid in his inner ear. If that's the case they should do a myringotomy (make a small incision in the ear drum and take out the fluid. The doctor may also want to put tubes in but it's not always necessary if it's not a recurring problem) The procedure takes 15-30 minutes in the office. I would just see another ENT and tell him/her all of the symptoms!
Avatar n tn And inflammation in the nose and sinuses can cause inflammation around the Eustachian tube, which is the tube that runs from the back of the nose to the middle ear and is responsible for draining the middle ear of fluid. If there is Eustachian tube dysfunction from nose or sinus inflammation, fluid can remain in the middle ear which can lead to dizziness. The best diagnosis for this problem is a CT of the sinuses. Surgery is recommended to patients that fail maximal medical treatment.
Avatar f tn For about a month I have had this loud ear click in my left ear when I swallow. I can also hear it if I flex/voluntarily open up my ear. There's NO sign of congestion, infection, sinus problem, nor any pain or pressure. It is just a click/snap sound when I swallow now. It's pretty annoying and distracting and I've never had this problem before. Might I add that I am 5 months pregnant so I don't know if that would have something to do with the onset of this problem.
Avatar n tn Myringotomy, where a tiny slit is made in the eardrum to aspirate any middle ear fluid and to allow temporary ventilation into the middle ear space. Pressure Equalization Tube, PET, where a tiny plastic or metal tube, is introduced into myringotomy to keep the portal open. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn If this fails then minor surgery, which involves placing small tubes, known as grommets, in the ear. Grommets can help drain fluid out of the middle ear. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Regards.
Avatar n tn So I've been having issues with my ear since I went swimming one day and heard a weird pop like thing? It happened in April of last year, and no matter what I do it doesn't go away. I've expressed this to the doctors, but they all say there's nothing wrong. It starts like a sharp pain like around the jaw line, and at it's worst points it feels swollen, my throat is sore on the right side, and I can't hear right in that right ear.
Avatar m tn She was hospitailized for a severe infection in the ears and also had to under go a catscan. The catscan revealed fluid still in the ears which they say we have to watch and undergo every six minths for the possiblitly that it spreads to the back of her brain. Since then she falls constaintly and several times says "what" like she can't hear me. I even found her laying on the speaker in the hospital to hear her cartoons.
1635132 tn?1305063930 Hi, Dramamine or dimenhydrinate is usually indicated for nausea, vomiting, and dizziness caused by motion sickness. This antihistamine also treat other motion and balance problems or inner ear problems. If your headache is associated with allergies, this medicine may greatly help stop histamine release. Talk to your doctor about this for proper management. Take care and best regards.
Avatar f tn My concern is at one point girl was sitting on top of me for 2-3 minutes and i noticed her veginal fluid was on top of my underwear. In week 3 i had experience some pain in groin area . I did under took full STD check at 27 days which included hiv duo/combo. All came negative. But i am concerned as in week 5 i started getting liitle bit of sore throat, mild pain in one side lymphnode on of neck. After few days i had one rash on neck that disappeared in 15-20 mins.
Avatar m tn Last March 2008, I developed a chest conjestion along with sinus drainage, headaches, and pressures, with real sharp pain in the ears and throat area that goes up to the ears, more so in the right ear. I visited my primary Dr. was given some antibiotics for 3 days ( 1 tablet twice daily) and some steroids.
Avatar n tn You can try an antihistamine and see if that helps. That may de-clog the ear and sinus and clear it up. But, sometimes they also give an antibiotic.
Avatar f tn Sounds like you have menieres, its an inner ear problem. i have had it for 14 years and it is a pain to deal with. Allegies or pollen seem to make it worse, but there is a way to make it stop. 1. The pressure in the ears can be alleviated by bending over and letting the fluid drain out of your Eustachian tubes. 2. Take Zyrtec, dries the fluid right up. 3. Go to your pharmacy and ask the Pharmacist for the travel medicine behind their counter( no prescription needed.) for dizziness.
Avatar f tn what has happened you have a pressure block in your nasal and ear canal the best way to fix it is to return to the altitude you went just before your ear got clogged. There is some things I have done that Ear doctors do recommend if you don't know how to do it. I would suggest seeing a ear specialist for wax or ear blockage. I had that happen years a go when I flew to IL and ears were blocked for 6 weeks until I got back on the plane to fly home.
Avatar m tn He said that I had significant swelling in the nasal passages and fluid in both ears so he put me on some steroid nose spray and an antihistamine, oh and I got a steroid shot. I was also having alot of sinus headaches before. Not sure if this is what you are experiencing but maybe it will help. Maybe the allergy testing itself would help you to find out if an allergy is causing your symptoms. I hope you feel better soon.
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar n tn I have been struggling with an ear issue for a while now. The main symptom is a sensation of fullness/pressure in both ears which frustrates me and causes me to regularly be trying to find relief by moving my jaw, performing the valsalva maneuver etc. I first mentioned this to my doctor almost 4 months ago. He looked in my ears to confirm there was no wax build up and noticed that there was signs of fluid in my middle ear.
Avatar n tn How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
Avatar f tn In the outer ears cerumen impaction or external otitis, in the middle ear fluid collection or disease of the tympanic membrane and in the inner ear damage to the nerve endings can cause tinnitus. As a result of these disorders the external sounds are masked leading to awareness of normal body sounds. With your symptoms of a postnasal drip, it could block the eustachian tube and cause fullness in the ears and tinnitus.
Avatar n tn Saw my phsyician a week ago - she says there is some fluid behind my ears but no infection. She also indicated my thyroid was enlarged? (not sure of any relation) She said it was most likely sinus trouble and recommended an antihistamine. Nothing is helping and at this point I am taking Tylenol 3's just to manage the pain. The headache is not sensitive to noise or light, but I do notice I am squinting because of the pain.
